I really liked this build, easy to understand. Could you send me a photo of the rubber bike tire tube tie down on the ree and bird house? Is it just a granny knot you use?
So the jury still out on it the longest I’ve had went out with this method is about six months now. What I do like is that the tube expands with the growth of the tree yet the birdhouse is still securely fastened.
@@BehindtheCache - yes. Sometimes I use two tubes to attach if the birdhouse is heavier or if the tubes I have are thinner. Don’t throw away those old flat kids bike tubes!!!!! I tie them tight then cut off the excess. So far it’s worked well. I saw the one you did that was a hanger. Afraid that wouldn’t work for this type. Great for quick release mechanism though.
Got an idea for CLEVER GEOCACHE and just don't know how to get it built? Leave me a comment about it and maybe we can build it in a video!
Really cool I have already found five geocaches and I’m definitely keeping this video in mind
Great stuff, I’d only suggest using decking/outdoors rated screws

Ya usually I just tie a granny knot. If I need extra security I sometimes put a chain inside the tube with a lock.
@@CleverGeocacheHides Thank you for suggesting using a chain inside and a lock.
Nicely done. Does the inner tube work well and how long does it last to hold the cache to the tree?

@@CleverGeocacheHides so do you just tie it?
