You can lose your skull by going to LMS, going into the casual game upstairs and then instantly hopping before the game starts (or logging out if it does start).
Basically just tele to ferox and hop worlds twice and you lose your skull, no dying involved
im aware of the other methods, i just prefer standing still and getting smacked
