    It sounds absolutely right. I wonder though, in the beginning you use fret 22. Yngwie plays 21-fret guitars, as do I. How get around that?
    In tabs you often see bends on fret 22 up to 24. This i can solve by just bending fret 21 one and a half step. But in this particular lick there's no time for bends, so how solve this, and how does Yngwie play this on a 21 fret guitar?

    • @chasingfrets
      @chasingfrets  2 года назад

      Great question Stefan, the thing is it's a bit of a myth that Yngwie doesn't use 22 fret guitars he actually did use it on this particular song as well on the 'I'll see the light tonight' and a few others for recording purposes, but given that people almost always see him live with the 21 fret guitar they just presume he only uses that type of a guitar , he even has a 24 fret strat check it out: ruclips.net/video/XqPzd2tiHTM/видео.html

    • @ztevie.j
      @ztevie.j 2 года назад

      @@chasingfrets Aha... But when he uses 21 frets live and play some songs he won't be able to replicate the exact solo. I guess he don't care, he improvises so much live anyway, haha...
      Some day I'll have a Yngwie strat custom built but with improvements such as 22 frets, compound 10-14" radius, stainless frets, satin lacquer neck, locking tuners and contoured neck heel... As much as I love my US Yngwie strat the above things would be great improvements.

    • @chasingfrets
      @chasingfrets  2 года назад

      @@ztevie.j Oh man that guitar you plan on custom building sounds amazing, from what I hear Yngwie strat is generally an awesome instrument and very versatile guitar so I hope one day you'll own that dream strat ! Cheers my friend!

    • @chasingfrets
      @chasingfrets  3 года назад

      yes, as far as I can tell he always uses it when it comes to pedal licks, it's much easier and effective to pick it that way

      @@chasingfrets Btw, very impressive your cover. Last night I was trying it on my guitar and it takes a lotta skills and precision. Well done, man. I sometimes tend to forget Malmsteen's genius due to his attitude and because it seems he's burnt out 😞 I don't know if he can still play solos like this.

      Thanks, his best playing was in the 80' , but all the same he gave us completely unique way of playing guitar in terms of approach and ideas and thats why he's one of the greats, coming up with a new style of playing is not an easy task, cheers!
