Off Season Training For Goalkeepers | Keeping Goals - S2Ep40

In this week's episode of Keeping Goals, we take you along to one of my off-season training sessions with Scott Healey and Chris Renshaw.
I've been training with Scott at the J4K Manchester sessions since I was 10, and I still get in whenever I'm home. Scott is one of the best coaches I have worked with in my career, and has instilled a work ethic in me which ensures that I give as much effort in the last minute of the session as I do in the first. I was also joined for the session by Chris Renshaw. I've trained with Chris since my early teens, and I'm lucky to work alongside such a brilliant keeper. He pushes me every session to be the best I can be in order to keep up with him, and after finishing a 3 year professional contract with Everton, is now - like myself - looking for a new club for next season.
I hope this session shows you that you don't need fancy equipment to improve. Despite the clubs we've all been at during our careers, all we need to help us work is a field, cones, footballs, and the desire to work hard and learn.
We focused on explosive, powerful movements around the goal, combined with focused handling drills in order to cover two key areas of goalkeeping, and to help us prepare physically and mentally for our pre-season training with clubs.
