Imagining synchronized dancing by them four complete with hand gestures to best convey the song’s message : “... rainy night let’s stay inside sit around the fireplace.. keeping warm, with soft music on the stereo“ .. 🎶 .. oohhh, .. lovin’ the 70’s soulful vibe of this piece !!!!!

i read where they toured with the Dells, and the Undisputed Truth, co starred with BB King, Marvin Gay. I'm old school, but for the life of me, I don't remember this group. I looked for their other recordings and found their singing style to be 1970ish. Yet I'm sorry to say, it still didn't jog my memory. However just the same, thank you for posting.
This is Amazing!! from the field recorded rain storm at the start to the harp flourishes throughout, the strings, the vocals, that gentle guitar, the restrained bass, beautiful production. Thank you Andre🙏

Y'all got to be kidding me this guy sung the whole song on one damn note at first I thought this was the Delfonics or someone I've heard of before NO didn't cut no ice with me sorry!!!
Alright, so I had a question for the producers: How do artists get away with sampling without even getting a copyright claim on youtube. So for example this video has a content ID claim as can be seen by expanding the video description, but when artists like Russ upload a song with a sample in it, so for example consider his song "Goodbye" which plays the original sample without any modifications for around 40 seconds straight in the beginning, how come his video doesn't get any claims. I checked a youtube video for the original song he sampled and that video has a claim on it too, which means the original song is registered with RUclips's content ID system and therefore youtube should have automatically sent a content ID claim on the russ song....but it didn't. So how does that work?? Thanks to anyone answering. (btw I have nothing against sampling or Russ, in fact I'm asking this cuz I wanna use a sample too without getting any copyright claims).
chances are he probably got permission/cleared it with the label that owns the song. i sadly have no idea how the full process of that works though but depending on what you do with the sample you won't have to worry about a claim.
@@pierrecarrillo5711 but are artists actually focusing on that. So for example I heard dj premier talk about how he didn't clear some samples until he got sued. But dj premier is like a big name and I guess that's why people might be interested in coming after him. But coming back to Russ when he released "goodbye" he had no association with Colombia records and stuff, like he was totally independent and not to mention that he hadn't blew up at that point... So what I basically want to say is as an unknown independent artist with no "sources" is it possible to get samples cleared, or is it even necessary? Look the reason I'm worried about sample clearance at this point is not because I'm afraid of getting sued(cuz that's most probably not gonna happen) but rather I don't want any copyright claims on my future videos. Now I know that copyright claims won't do much damage but they still don't look good.... (sorry I'm a noob when it comes to this topic)
@@john-sk8qi it just depends on what the publishers want. There are even some services like Tracklib, that allows you to download your sample and once you are ready to publish, you pay a $50 license fee for most material, and then they take a small percentage on the back end. Now days that’s one of the easiest ways to clear a sample. Some artists just choose not to clear a sample until it gets noticed and they get sued. It depends if you want to take that chance or not. It there are easy and affordable ways to go about it sometimes.
@@john-sk8qi sometimes the artist forget which songs they sampled. Madlib suffered that all the time, other times it gets really difficult for labels to find the publishing because alot these old soul records that get sampled we're on small independent labels/ imprints that have gone defunct or been bought up by larger entities. Paperwork gets moved around and things, it's the reason why labels don't really support sampling much nowadays. Not saying they absolutely don't, just not as much.
A true gem.
Legendary track right here.

You have to clear the sample through the publishers.
