Melissa Claire Eagan's role as Chelsea and her performance is excellent. The scene of her on top of building brought me to tears. Definitely Emmy worthy. Maurice your right God is real and he leads us to where we are needed. Great show Maurice. God Bless you, your family, and Melissa and her family.
Lovely interview! A topic that is not talked about enough, losing a child to miscarriage or still birth. One second you can feel like you are on top of the world, and the next in a bottomless pit. I do feel infertility issues need to be addressed because so many people are suffering silently from past trauma of not being able to conceive. We need to be more sensitive to women who can't have kids or lost kids due to miscarriage/stillbirth. It is such an emotional rollercoaster that leaves many mental health affected. Terrific job Maurice and Melissa!
This conversation with Melissa really did go by to quickly. I was tearing up all over again when you brought up her scenes with Jason addressing depression. They both deserve Emmy’s. For those 2 to have never experienced depression but put everyone watching in tears is indescribable. I was also glad Maurice when you brought up the question of God and basically if he existed why is he allowing all of the tragedies to unfold in this world. I am a firm believer that that’s the devil. Unfortunately when I say it out loud the come back is always then why doesn’t God stop him. I can only respond with my faith (Catholic) will see me through and hopefully others will gain the same faith. Thanks Maurice and Melissa for another beautiful Saturday.
Ms. Moore, this is a trigger my repentant older sister pulls: the Devil made me do it.” Here’s my sermon to her and anyone who gives the Devil control in his/her life. God, the Creator, gave us free will and choice. It is His greatest joy when we choose Him. The Devil is given any power from God’s greatest creation made in His image. Just as the Devil tempted Jesus to commit suicide for all comfort in this world, the same Devil tempts us today. We suffer choices that we all make that lead to the destruction we suffer. The devil’s work is as plentiful as the endless choices you, I, and our fellow man make and with those choices our suffering is infinite until the end of our days.🤷🏽♀️ Peace be with you.☯️
Melissa is awesome 💯👍😊❤️🔥! Love your storyline and so glad you and your husband have your son. Maurice thank you 😊 for doing this interview and show...
Thank you for this one, Maurice. Fertility issues aren't talked about enough, yet I found out, when one of my daughters was going through it, it's far more common than one would think. And a success story is HUGE, because it is a devastating experience to live through. Most definitely, especially for the person facing the real possibility of not being able to have a child. And also, to have to watch your child go through something that heartbreaking while completely powerless to help them. You go through so many years of their lives able to fix all of the boo boos. Then they grow up and it's not always possible to do that anymore. I'm a "fixer" type of personality so that is always tough. My daughter talks openly about the journey and her "rainbow baby".... the miracle that is my now 3 yo grandson via IVF, in hopes that she might help even one other person. That's what Melissa's success story can do as well. So, thank you for this, again. ❤
What an amazing interview. I too went from Catholic to Christian & I understand completely. Congratulations to this beautiful lady on having a child finally! Yes I agree this is a deep conversation, I shed a tear. It touched me ❤.
Bless your heart Missy. I had my son, then 3 miscarriages and then my daughter. My daughter has PCOS and had some issues, got vaccinated and boom, I have a 2 month old granddaughter that is a beautiful miracle. I follow you on social media and love how awesome and honest you have been. What a fabulous conversation. E tween the two of you. Thanks Maurice for another great SOM.
This is amazing ! I had a miscarriage at 17 then got pregnant again gave birth to my beautiful red haired baby girl now she has passed away I am completely broken God bless us all ! Maurice thank you Love ya ! 😍
Melissa, Thanks for been so open. Many women go through trying to have a child, your story will let them know they are not alone. Always appreciate your acting. You are a great person too.
Thanks again for a very interesting SOM. Takes my mind off of all the woes of life… And I admire you, Melissa for all you went through. Maurice, you sure are great at always getting the most interesting people on here. I appreciate you so much. ❤❤
Her work on Y&R has always been amazing. But this recent one about the depression leading her character to suicide was hands down her best. It hit home for me having had suicide touch my family personally. I lost my older brother to suicide back on Dec 1, 1980. Coincidentally, when this story arch peaked my younger brother had a mental breakdown. He almost succeeded in possibly taking his own life but was stopped thankfully by law enforcement. I will never stop advocating for mental health awareness. I have had my own issues but thankfully I found a great therapist. The more I have thought about my past and things that happened, I am convinced our Dad had bi polar that was never diagnosed. I will support mental health care for the rest of my life. I won't stop. And I'm praying I don't lose another brother...🙏💞
Amazing! I pray Missy gets nominated for her current storyline! I don't suffer from depression, but this storyline really affected me. Maurice, thank you again many times over for your episodes here. So touching, so enlightening and so necessary! Yes, some of the tragedies that are going on today is due to demonic oppression! Stay blessed and well!
It means a lot that she’s getting validation from Maurice Benard about the storyline regarding depression, seeing as how he knows firsthand what that’s like. She really did such an incredible job. I have some experiences myself, and I saw a lot of what I went through mirrored through her performance as well as the script.
Thank you your amazing person, much love,it’s nice to get to listen & connect,in silence, 😊 I don’t speak or express myself out loud or share with anyone, openly, thanks for you& your beautiful guests ,& state of mind, love & blessings
Thank u for sharing this with us Melissa is amazing and she plays Chelsea to perfection I'm so glad u r a champion for mental health as someone who suffers with anxiety and panic attacks watching ur videos inspired me to keep.on going cuz I'm not alone in this
The topic of suicide hit so close to home. My Mom committed suicide in 2021 and Melissa played this part so beautifully. Thank you for bringing more awareness to this issue it is sadly a very relevant topic today.
Wow, Maurice , you really had quite the experiences !! I’m glad they wrote a role in for you . Great show today . Do you know who Melissa Claire was going to be on before on Y&R ??
Wonderful heartfelt interview. Many thanks to you both! Maurice, two things I thought might be of help or interest to you. First, breathing out to a longer count than breathing in calms the body. It really works! Second, I read once that when someone commits suicide, their kids are more likely to do so as well because they see it as a real option as opposed to just a concept. So try to remember that if you ever feel close again. Your family would definitely not be better off without you. Sometimes when I have a problem with someone and I’m not sure what to do, I ask myself what would I want that person to do if the situation was reversed and then I do that. In case of suicide, you would definitely want them to talk to you rather than leave you with the pain of loss and regret. Hope that makes sense. My intention is to give you something back to say thank you for all you have given me with your videos and on GH. You make the world a better place.
I had 5 surgeries for endometriosis. They slowly took “everything” away…kept hoping I’d get pregnant before having to have a complete hysterectomy. Finally the pain was so unbearable I had to have that last hateful surgery. So, no kids for me. I battled feeling like a true woman since I couldn’t have children. I was pregnant when younger, but I wasn’t allowed to keep it (long story); before I was diagnosed with endometriosis. So, that added to my level of depression after the hysterectomy/final of the 5 endometriosis surgeries. It brought back all the trauma I experienced as a child and in the military full speed ahead… so that began my suicide attempts (over 12, 9 of them within 3 years, 2 within minutes of death…). My last true attempt was in 2005, though suicidal ideations are always sitting there waiting to bring their ugly selves back whenever possible/the least little thing.
I would miss carriage and get pregnant or miscarried get pregnant again. Then my doctor said no more. I ended up getting my tubes cutting tied. You are are amazing. I’m so glad that you have a son. The Lord is good. I’m catholic also. 🙏🙏 God bless. Maurice you knocked it out of the park again. Thank you so much. 💙
I absolutely love you Maurice Bernard you have a beautiful heart when you cry you make me cry to I really love state of mind I really hope you reach your goal on every one to scribe hope I made sense sorry if I didn’t again love you ❤❤❤❤
Maurice, I have been enjoying state of mind, especially the episode with Max Gail. The Alzheimer’s storyline coincided with my dad‘s Alzheimer’s and was very accurate. Today’s episode with Melissa Claire Egan had one misconception that I feel was a mistake. Catholics are Christians. We also believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God.
Why would she talk about Steve? The Jason she was referring to is Jason Thompson who plays Billy on Y&R and is involved in her character’s storyline. I don’t think she was talking about when SB played Dylan. 😐
I have a suggestion. With the recent passing/suicide of Jason David Frank aka Tommy the green ranger and white ranger could you do an interview with his ex wife or maybe some other former power rangers that knew him? And I think Susan lucci would be a good interview. Please get her on the show
Maybe one day you could have Joel Osteen on, I know you said you are a Christian and how you believe 150% in God. Since I started watching Joel Osteen I feel closer to God. He maybe able to reach your audience out there on your show and help someone.
I’m extremely spiritual and try to be a good person, but I don’t attend church or belong to a certain religion. I don’t think that is as important as just trying to be the best giving person I can be. 😐
Attending Mass doesn't mean anything considering some of the hateful people they vote for in elections. I will only intend to attend Jesuit Churches unless it is for a funeral or wedding. My sister had to step away from attending, so she didn't have to take anxiety medication in order to attend with those type of people.
