I love Rena. She is the real thing. I am so happy she will be back on GH this month. I so fondly remember her when she came on as Lois Cerullo back in the 80's. I was young like her, going to college and I would watch her every day when I got home. I was so sad when she left GH, but she had to do what she had to do. Now, here we are 30 some years later and she is back! And she is as beautiful as ever...and her eyes are gorgeous, yes my favorite combo, dark hair and blue eyes. I am very happy she chose to stay home with her kids. I did the same and my kids are 9 years apart the youngest and oldest so I was a stay at home mom for 28 years....4 kids. I totally understand where she is coming from. Again, this was a great interview, and I am so darn happy she is going to be back on GH real soon, this has been 3 decades in the waiting!!!

Such a great interview! How wonderful that her father removed them from that relationship. Not all dads have that strength. She also confirmed what I’ve been hearing lately, that vets can take a mundane script and make it sparkle. We’ve witnessed that on GH, with little screen time, they leave us clamoring for more.

Thank you Rena for your honesty about your upbringing. I grew up with an abusive mother and I have found that it is hard to be honest about that fact. Our society deifies mothers to such an extent that most people try to make excuses and find a reason that it was somehow my fault, because they can't imagine a mother abusing her child. What they don't understand is that as phenomenally wonderful as a good mother is, an abusive mother is as phenomenally damaging. It helps when someone like you tells the truth.
I have also worked my entire life to be different from my mother and to break the cycle. Those who know me best say I have succeeded, it looks like you have succeeded too! All the best to you

WOW! WOW! WOW! What a truly amazing lady as well as a marvelous actress!!! I only came to know of Rena as Quinn on B&B. She was so excellent at her craft that she gave me reason to watch the show. To see this interview and to see that she is also a fine and upstanding person is wonderful!!! She is truly an inspiration and an example of strength as well as someone who is not afraid to talk about her vulnerabilities. The same goes for Maurice when he shared that he had dealt with nervousness for a big part of his life and that he had been intimated by Rena. That in itself shows great strength in a man-one who is not afraid to admit and talk about his weaknesses. This is certainly a most enjoyable interview-even if you had no prior knowledge of these two great people. It was great to hear of Rene’s strong commitment to motherhood and family. She is admirable in every respect!!! Wishing both of you the very best-always!!! Thank you for making this world a better and brighter place!!! ❤️❤️

This was amazing! I had a similar mother to Rena's (emotional and verbal abuse daily), but my father didn't have the guts to take me away from her. Eventually, around age 16, my father's mother and step-father approached my father and offered to take me to get me away from her, but it was too late. I was too scared and broken to go live anywhere else. I guess it took me a long time and years of therapy, but after EMDR therapy I found myself desensitized to the memories and was able to posthumously forgive her and almost understand her. At 56, I realize I hit all of life's milestones a decade or so later than most, but it is all fear, isn't it? I am a work in progress and am always, always working on self-improvement even though I'm in a good place now. I'm currently working on mindset and education, and go out into the world with the mission of leaving everyone I encounter with a positive feeling. I'm also a big tipper! I GET how horrible people can feel inside, and it makes me happy to say the kind things to them. Everything happens for a reason, and my mother made me the weird, strong, funny, smart woman I became as much as anyone else did. Anyway, GREAT interview!!!

Rena is beautiful inside and out. Sat next to her and Wally at a concert back in the day.
Good to hear that she is doing well ❤️‍🩹

Rena is so right about the history between Sonny
    and Lois.
GH has done this so many times, missed these great opportunities for back stories, and created an even better story line

I think I understand why Rena Sofer briefly discussed that bombshell about her mother, and then shut down any further discussion about the emotional upheaval. However, she also presented excellent reasons for a deeper childhood bond between the characters of Sonny and Lois. I used to wonder why the writers only mentioned once, that Sonny sought refuge with Lois' family after being abused.

Thus show was very informative. Rena is very transparent and even after the mental abuse she sustained from her mother, she is a well adjusted, (not to mention) talented actress.

Probably the best State of Mind I've watched. Rena Sofer is what all actors should be; dedicated to giving more than what is on the page. GH should only bring her back if they can give Lois Cerillo an interesting arc.

Not to take anything away from Rena's childhood and growing up, but I relate. When raised strictly religious, making friends is difficult, and keeping them I'm finding is harder. Really good conversation, thanks for your story.
