I just hated how in the beginning all the celebrities were all like "its so hard not leaving our homes." So tragic that your trapped in your 5 acre homes with your personal theaters and gyms and pools and crap.
The best was some on twitter calling people who wanted to return to work so they could feed their family "entitled" and that "they cant understand why people want to leave their homes when you can just have anything you need delivered to it", Celebrites have only proven how mind blowingly detatched they are from reality and how much they look down on average people

India the price of onions can change greatly depending on the season and location, it can be low as Rs.30/kg to Rs.180/kg(this price is rare but I have seen it become that expensive)

On the low end for 30/kg he spent Rs.765,600($10,420)
On the high end for 180/kg he spent Rs.4,593,600($62,520)
if you take the average of those two at 105/kg its Rs.2,679,600($36,470)
To you in the US this might seem like its not a relatively large investment and loss. But that's only because you have not considered the cost of living and its corresponding average salary of a person. A person who is earning 1,2000,000($16330) a year is considered to be wealthy/a good financial position in society. And this typically takes someone at least 10 years of work experience to get this position.
Note: I am not counting business owners(Im only counting salaries) and people who work in IT(This has a salary range too wide and besides yet most IT people only earn Rs400K to Rs.700K per year)
I know this is old but seeing as you say "price I've seen" I guess you may reference to market price? In general when you buy goods to sell you get them cheaper than market price, with whole sale and the fact that the market seller has added his own cut to the price, so it could have been cheaper I think.

According to multiple different market sites that monitor the market prices of various goods (in bulk) in India, you're highballing the price of onions even by your lowest estimation. The rates I acquired were between 13 and 21 Indian rupees per kg in bulk (derived from the per-quintal price in most cases, one quintal in the Indian market equaling 100kg), depending on type of onion and location. Which would put 25,520kgs of onions somewhere between 331,760 Indian rupees and 535,920 Indian rupees. Which comes to between $4012,40 and $6481,56.
Either you are looking at some sort of a retail cost (incredibly unlikely our man would have just walked into a foodstore or a food market and asked for a literal truckload of onions), or finding some very different information. Alternatively, it may be that the price of onions in India has greatly come down from what it was in 2021.
It is, to be fair, is still a decent amount of money for a regular dude, but I guess it was worth it to him.

The funny thing is. Based on your description Asmon is the only one who can't be sued successfully for copyright infringement. He is either purposefully transforming the content into something else or just by pure coincidence. It doesn't really matter what his intent is. He is one of the only streamers who adhere to the rules of free-use.

And there were repeat offenders who came back regularly to basically just grab cases of beer from the cooler and walk right on out *every holiday*. I was there when it happened, the car idled out front and a guy walked past me as I was getting chips with the largest cases you could buy stacked in his arms and going "thanks b-tch" to the lady at checkout. She sighed and told me he came in every holiday, she tried to call the cops and they basically said "under $500 we just write a citation, it's a waste of our time, just ignore it".

See, urban police departments often just don't want to deal with calls where there's no threat to life, OR where they're 90% sure it won't actually do any good.
In this case, they write a citation (ticket) and the thief either pays it or blows it off. If they blow it off, there's an arrest warrant issued - but that's not the same as "send a squad car to arrest them"... not unless it was a violent crime, and just walking out of the store with goods?
Really police work such as "petty theft" (what this is) is subject to the cost/benefit analysis. The question has to be "is it going to be worth our time?"...
... this is distressing to hear, but there is just only so much time, money, and so on to go around. Not to mention, there's already a problem with overcrowding in many jails so actually sending petty thieves to jail? Not... entirely an option worth pursuing.
And again, I should reiterate, this isn't my personal view. This is how it got laid out to me by two different officers over two very different cities.

Most of the time here, the cops are given stand down orders by politicians.
Most of these cops would love to arrest the thieves and whatnot, they're paid by the hour after all, but due to all the George Floyd stuff, they're forced to not do anything.
The mayor of Portland and the Minneapolis police chief are examples. They force their officers to stand down so they look like they care so they get reelected. It's just a big scummy politician PR stunt with real world consequences.

i live in cali where that stupid shoplifting law till exists. my local walmart is literally within walking distance from the pd and police cars drive past it hundreds of times a day to go on patrol. despite literally being right their if you do not steal 1,000 dollars worth of goods then the police will not show up at all.
the worst thing that will happen is that if the store employees stop you they will take what you were trying to steal and tell you not to come back. i heard a rumor that the theft has goten so bad that they are secretly identifying shop lifters and keeping a tally of what they steal until it reaches over the thousand dollar mark so that they can actually get the police to show up. and the worst thing about it is nobody even blames the shop lifters at this point, its like the law is so fed that people have the attitude of its the laws fault not the shoplifters fault because its incentivizing the act to such a degree that you feel like an idiot for being one of the people who still pays. at the end of the day the law essentially makes it legal to steal up to a thousand dollars due to their being no punishment so why is it the shoplifters fault for doing it. thats how absolutely insane this law is.
