Missed the part where some "influencers" wrecked and peed all over tents because they didn't want people camping near them, so the shortage of tents was made ven worse by the people that needed them.
Ironically, Asmon's attitude to these people is exactly the one Internet Historian mocks by the end of the video

That makes it even worse because it makes it likely quite a lot of those kids actually saved for it for a long time. Nobody who isnt rich is gonna save for a 100 000 ticket. But tons of non-rich kids might save 1200 which makes it way more shitty.

Haha I looked up Fyre Festival cuz it's been a while and apparently Netflix has a documentary on it. I also noticed Billy was trying to get released from prison to avoid Corona, but his request was denied according to wikipedia.
Both Netflix and Amazon I believe have documentaries about the subject, and there was a controversy centered around a production company that was both behind the festival and the documentary about it, sparking some to question just how accurate the documentary was.

Even if it was "only" the 1200$. I couldn't have afforded it as a 18-21 years old. And my parents would have given me the finger if I suggested that. Kids who have that money usually are spoiled. Maybe not beyond rich spoiled, but spoiled nonetheless.
Yeah. I mean, let's say I go to a high class hotel. Two weeks, 13 nights, that's how much? 13k? I can probably find good accommodation for that price. And they often have activities and events lined up. No one is paying 250k unless the catch is meeting up with some celeb one has always wanted to have a chat with.

@@ashishshenoy3778 my comment wasn't about the initial incorrect assumption, but about making it, seeing it challenged, then doing a 180 by condemning those that made the same assumption he did without the self awareness of remembering his prior reaction. I wouldn't expect a streamer doing a reaction to have researched the topic prior, that would defeat the purpose, unless you include researching their short term memory for their own prior comments from within the hour

My point, is I was disappointed, not that he jumped to conclusions, I expect that. But if, for example, I jumped to a conclusion, I'd be a little shamefaced if I realized I was mistaken, especially if I made a prolonged point of it. And I wouldn't chastise others for the same assumption, without acknowledging my mistake. That is the entirety of my point. I was disappointed, there was no self correction, no reference to their own vehement assumption, while lambasting others for making the same assumption. Hypocrisy, in a word.

And this is why everything is good in moderation. I've been in an Aquapark thrice and they too have a cashless system - for food and beverages though alcohol is only served in the adults only section. But here everything works cause you're in for half a day, you know who the staff is, you have reliable lockers, you have security on site and you are paying no more than a few hundred and that's for a big family.

It's true like Asmon says that part of what he did sounds great because he screwed a bunch of idiots that wanted to party with influencers and didn't fact check how real or dangerous this was.
*But the conditions were so fucking inhumane from what you can see on documentaries and shit,* they were worse than camp refugees, with no food, shelter from the elements, or worse yet for the people who had medical conditions, no access to emergency medical supplies or services. When you see a fucking normal stadium full of people the organizers tend to have people ready for emergencies etc, these guys didn't even have plumbing done or *hell not even any security.* And they couldn't leave immediately because of-course island with shitty airport that has no traffic and no scheduled flights for long periods of time and other reasons....
I wouldn't go anywhere near the idea that the guy is a hero lmao.
