- Another massive thanks to Zak at Zewspeed for coming over and slogging it with me to get this car all back up and running again. Now its better than ever with the all new Maxx race ECU all wired up. looking forward to getting this back on the dyno at Clarkes to see what it can do.
Also big up Mart for the dash. I think you will agree this looks miles better than hundreds of autometer gauges all over the gaff...
And Tom Barclay for letting me use his awesome workshop for Barton and I to tackle the belt on a ramp. Much appreciated boyos 😬👍🏻

Autosparks do universal vehicle harnesses for not alot of money which come with fusebox & relays etc. All in proper colours & cable sizes etc. Ideal start point if you don't want to start from scratch & you only need the basics.

yer ive only just started making use of the tools at work. luckily my boss is mint and lets us play with the machines out of hours. Im going to try and machine a custom Zewspeed rocker cover next...

Great video. I'm in the process of getting this done for my 92 gmc typhoon. It's batch fire from the factory. Also it has the old GM style distributor which is getting replaced with the holley dual sync distributor. This will remedy the poor ignition system issues I have after driving for more than a month. I have probably been through 10 ignition control modules. It's all wheel drive turbo. I'm shooting for having it done before Christmas. I will post videos after. Oh and maxxecu will be controlling it all.
That is a really nice upgrade and well done for getting it done so quickly. Anything electrical always takes a lot longer than you first think mind you I could say that about anything to do with cars as you want to make it the best it can be.
Yer everything seems to be so time consuming. A 5 min job ends up taking all day sometimes 😅

If Carlsberg made MK1 fiesta dashboards 😁 great job Mike, great work with you and Zak on the loom mapping etc, I’ve made additions and alterations to engine looms for the Syvecs in my car, not a 5 minute job, finished product looked like a top job!

Had it a long time mate, got a good deal at the time too, great bit of kit, the Maxx seems to be up there with the features though. Hopefully we’ll see compo at a car show in the south east very soon 👍🏻 maybe even a Ford specific event 🤔

What projects you building? I’ve not set up the boost by gear yet. That should help with the wheel spinning it currently loves to do.

I'd have thought a closed loop temp target for the chsrgecooler pump with a throttle/boost override to give it a chance to get a head start if it's off. I guess the fans shouldn't be needed once there is some ram effect. Probably want some thresholds so they don't run too much though, particularly in stop start traffic.
Yer there’s loads of settings to play around with. We figured they can come off when the cars driving along. Will keep you posted on how the set up works and how we tweek it

Do you know if you can use your 4 ! Spare egts for pre and post intercooler ? Brake fluid temp ? I’d be interested to know if you can assign seperate control and display parameters.

It must have been an issue with the first ecu. The so one one Clarke supplied worked mint first time. And yes you can use the egt sensors as water air temp inputs and can change their settings to read out what ever you want on the screen. This really is a very versatile unit

Does the dash automatically load into mdash? Im guessing this is a universal ebay radio?
You have to press the Home Screen and the Icon to load up mdash on a cold start takes a second. If you jump out at the petrol station and jump back in it loads straight away.

Is the screen constantly connected to a usb charging port?
No it has a 12v perm live wire and an ignition live wire into the back. Also there’s a headlight wire to dim the screen at night 👍🏻
