100% agree, almost every job I've ever had involved working with kids (2nd grade IA, summer camp counselor, math tutor, babysitter, junior high coach) and the kids love me because I listen to them, am not too grown up to play with them, and really try to get to know them and respect them as people. My #1 goal in life is to always try to treat kids the way I wish adults in my life had treated me, without having kids myself.

I think the mindset is different for a kid than for an adult. She might have been taught that high calorie foods are bad for you. Simplistic but that’s a concept a child can understand. My mom taught me that everything is okay in moderation when I raised some similar concerns about Girl Scout cookies when I was about 11 years old.

From my experience that feeling is the most real you can feel when someone despises you just from your age but you don't know that and think you're doing something wrong, forcing them to mature faster. It's better to be a nice person and letting them mature on their own because they think it's better and not because they're scared.

Yeah my best friend and I had the exact same dynamic when we were in primary school. Now we're in highschool and still best friends even though when we were younger I was super quiet and she had the backbone in the friendship.

I hate kids but I don't wanna be that kind of dude who makes kids feel guilty over nothing because I'm being an ass. From my experience that feeling is the most real you can feel when someone despises you just from your age but you don't know that and think you're doing something wrong, forcing them to mature faster. It's better to be a nice person and letting them mature on their own because they think it's better and not because they're scared.

No matter how much Eugene denies it, I think he's actually really good with kids. He made sure Georgia was actually voicing her opinions and wasn't just agreeing with Olivia, he gave her a chance to chose where to put the cookies when they both didn't agree on the ranking because she wasn't getting a chance before, he censored his catch phrase to make it more friendly, he felt bad when he told them to shut up and he was low-key touched when they said he'd be a good Dad
