Hi John, I'm booked in for a Towmaster2 for our Fiat 500C later this month and your very comprehensive video has confirmed my decision to go ahead with this system. I just wish I'd seen it sooner! I've also done what John Palmer suggests, and that is to use a blank key to release the steering lock, and I'm pleased to see that it works without affecting the brakes.

Hi John, we tow a VW Up GTi behind our motorhome and have overcome the locking of the vehicle. We went into Timpson's, other shops I'm are sure are available, and had a copy key made but, without the transponder total cost £15. This means that we can use the copy key to release the steering lock and keep it in the ignition but, it will not start it and we then use the main key fob to lock the car whilst travelling. This does not have any effect on our braking system. Good luck towing with an A frame in both France and Spain, if stopped you had better be fluent in their language, the police have no time for a piece of better issued by a country that is no longer in the EU.🤣🤣

Hi John. Dont rule it Out. I know how much smart VW t6 conversions like your own can fetch! There is more than. chance that your work home is worth more than mine😁. The bigger issue is potentially parking space at home, which is where we a lucky.
Got stopped in Germany by the Police last week and they deemed it all safe. We have an A Frame with a convertible Abarth and towed by an A Class, using the Towmaster 2 by LNB.
Hi John I had this system voted to my flat 500 ,what I have done to lessen the effects of leaving key in car had key cut with out being programmed so works all locks but will not start car, and found out to my cost you can not back up when tried to do a U tern and frame got stuck under Motorhome, due to gowing down road not for large Motorhomes or caravans,
Very interesting concept. One thing that would be interesting is to see an update in a few years of how much you think towing the vehicle itself impacts the car's tires as when it is on a trailer it isn't driving itself and jere it is driving on its own axles

Good to see real motorways with drivers who know how to drive them, what a joy compared to QLD where they have the audacity to call a 2 lane "highway" a motorway! Will your rig fit into the usual Channel Tunnel transport or would you need to join the truckies ? Hate to think what the cost would be now, not to mention the bureaucracy post Brexit. Keep on trucking

Thank you for explaining the pros and cons of this rig, a few years ago we where looking into a motor home for the future, but where put off by having to have a trailer or bikes, now it’s back in the options. Question - are you limited on the length or just the towing weight capacity?

PS. Definitely need the telltale, as our brake connection failed the other day.
I've just watched a similar video with what looked like the same system, and they locked the doors of the tow vehicle.

No Length issues. Just how much can your motorhome tow. Some people A frame SUV's so everything is possible.
Does the Abarths mileometer count the towed miles John?
No mate, As its an electronic odometer, it only registers miles with the ignition on. Great question👍
