I think something similar happened with Scarlett Johansson and Disney. They released on the streaming services and in theatres but she only got compensated for half the sales, if I remember correctly. There were contractual issues around this and I believe she won.
I think I understand Craig's concerns here, but he looks foolish for failing to adhere to the overriding principle: If you take the King's sovereign, you do the King's bidding. After $100 million taken, he's in no position to criticize Netflix's distribution policies.
So he already got paid handsomely for the Glass Onion Knives Out franchise, then what does he care that nobody can see it in the theater when MORE people will see it at home. It’s not the type of movie that requires a large screen
I enjoy watching it in my living room more. I get it's nice to see movies in theaters but there are less and less theaters than there used to be and many disrespectful people you have to share a room with.
Streaming services are taking over and he had no choice tbh at the time either. He could've said no but that was a lot of money. Also the movie got more recognition on Netflix. Sure they could release it in theatres but most likely everyone probably saw it by then. Although what he said isn't trashing Netflix it's just his wish and wish it was possible.
I'm glad Netflix is garbage and majority of their shows are low quality. And their good shows get canceled. Plus they're mediocre af with 8 episodes every 2/3 years. Daniel is right
I am afraid what if Eragon, or The Dark Is Rising got adapted again. But with woke culture this time. I hope not. They should be left alone. Due to the overstretch of woke culture. The Golden Compass was adapted again as a tv series. With 50 minutes for each episode each. It felt like a movie on television. But, I may find it out. The show was also a part of Political Correctness, being tied to woke culture as well. I appreciate the previous times those stories, the changes to the source material, and they did their very best. Even if they go against the source material. I appreciate previous adaptations of Eragon, The Golden Compass, The Dark Is Rising, City of Ember, Vampire Academy, Ender's Game, and I Am Number Four. Those films aren't for everyone. The reason they were made. Because, it wanted to be it's own thing. Not for the sake of adding in woke culture. I care, I prefer books be adapted, then truncate things that just don't work, or were a product of their time. Those films do have the feel of humor, friendship, emotion, and heart. On a second rewatch. Book adaptations can be done in 90 minutes rather than 3 hours long. Times are changing. I don't find this annoying to me. I dealt with it. Everyone has rights. Nobody is perfect. Woke Culture wasn't even a thing until 2015. Not everything has to be woke for the sake of diversity.
This is why I hate Daniel Craig as a person. He's a massive hypocrite. He trashed the job, playing as James Bond and even said he rather "slash his wrists" but ends up doing another 2 movies (Spectre and No Time to Die). Honestly without Netflix his acting career would be dead under water.
Saying he wishes they did theatrical releases isn’t really trashing Netflix but I get it, views pay the bills.

Theatrical vs streaming, im older (25) so I do still like theatrical releases. Even tho I have anxiety.
It had a limited release in theaters.
Yeah, though I don't think it came out in the UK :/

Im genuinely surprised that anyone wants anything to do with Netflix after they allowed 'Cuties' to be commissioned.
Commissioned would mean Netflix had a hand in making it happen in the first place. They didn't. They only distributed it globally except France.
They took it down though.
Who pissed in his grits. Dude they’re paying you 100 mill. What more do you want?

Click baiiiitttt. Thats not trashing Netflix
Daniel is turning fruity
The theatre business is going to die over the next few years.
Hope not.
