Brean Theme Park is only open on select days in the early season (mostly weekends) but this changes to daily from the end of June. They took down the observation wheel 2 weeks after I visited last, which is a shame. I saw a poster advertising the walk from Weston to Brean down a couple of weeks ago too on the side of a Weston bus stop - I didn't even know you could get to Brean Down from the Weston side until then! Something to explore one day. I don't know how you managed to walk the entire 7 miles and you covered it so creatively - walking from Berrow to Brean was enough for me 🤣 P.S Thank you for including the link to my video at the end!
Thanks so much Jesse!! My left foot hated me for the rest of week! Working on my feet all day was painful to say the least even with painkillers! I won’t be walking that distance in sand again 🤣 I loved doing it though! Yep, really looking forward to exploring that walk between Weston and Brean. Thanks so much for all the info about the theme park! I will pin your comment as it may be helpful to people. It’s a pleasure to link to your video 🤗
Thank you Caroline! Yes, I was amazed how empty the beach was too, even in the centre of Burnham. It was nice to have soooo much beach to myself but equally it would have been nice to see lots of others appreciating it and relaxing on it too. It was quite a trek .. the sore feet lasted all week! 🤗
I loved the shots of you kicking along in the loose sand, it was almost like smoke. That was quite different to the terrifying quick sand situation. Your poor tired legs must have had a good old moan at you for walking so far on the beach.
I used this exact track in a video I edited today ! Amazing beach here - I can’t believe it’s not packed with people ! The little village and church is lovely you can how much rain you haven’t had - the green grass is looking brown! Fab video Louise 👏
Oh wow! That’s funny when you think how many millions of tracks are on Epidemic Sound that we both chose the same one! I really like it. I think we both used the ‘Breathtaking’ track a while back too. Yes, we have been enjoying basking in sunshine, but the grass is looking brown now. Thanks so much for watching and commenting Alex!
Haven’t lived there since the 70’s but I was always led to believe that the locals pronounce Brean as Brianne for some reason.. as a youngster we was quite glad we didn’t have to walk miles out to sea to get to the amusements on the pier but I didn’t know it was the shortest in the uk but certainly wouldn’t be surprised..
What an amazing beach Louise. Can't imagine ever needing to jostle for space on there with your sunbed lol. No wonder your feet took a battering walking on all that sand. 🙈 You definitely earned the cake! Well done, great work! 👏👏
Ah, very nice.. lovely memories from years gone by… we used to play near a ship wreck on the beach at Brean back in the day… didn’t have a care in the world. Interesting you found a walk to WSM thiugh, didn’t know that existed 👍🏻👍🏻
Oh that’s lovely that you have good memories from years ago. I love revisiting places that I have loved and good good memories. I would have liked to have spent more time on Brean beach but just had enough time to end the video there as I was having huge issues with the amount of storage space left on my phone and had to keep clearing it so that I could film. I wasted so much time that day doing that! Brean Beach is lovely and I look forward to returning there to climb the Brean Down some time.
A tremendous piece of cinema. This isn't a video - it is a work of art. Really brilliant editing Louise 😊, some super music choices too, and lovely narration as well. But, most of all, some stunning shots here. You should be very proud of this. Well done! Paul 🙂👍
Thanks so much Paul! The beach leant itself to being creative with shots and I was enjoying using my new bendy tripod. I am going to have great fun with that going forward. Such a nice comment from a fellow creator! Thank you!
I was born in Burnham in 1957 and lived in Berrow until 1976. Fantastic place to have a childhood at that time. We used to take the dog onto the each and he used to run for miles and get so tired we sometimes had to carry him home. When i got older we used to take our Mini onto the beach at Brean Down when the tide was out and race up and down. That is where I learnt to drive at 15 . When the Spring Equinox happened we often went to the pier to watch the waves breaking over and flooding the Esplanade and then put some pennies in the slot machines. Just inland from the wooden lighthouse is a real round lighthouse and the two worked together. At night I could see the light going round and shining out to sea. Thanks for the video.
Brean Berrow is my favourite beach in Somerset. Though its becoming very commercialised you can still get away from people there. 😂 Very nice video with some inventive touches such as the slow motion emptying shoes of sand 😂
I used to like living in Burnham, once you walked away from the crowds the beach was lovely and peaceful. It's surprising just how far brean is to walk to . Don't know if it's true but there's meant to be snakes in those dunes!
Such a neat area. It's awesome to visit places like this that make you feel like you're visiting a distant country. Loved the shot of you dumping the sand out of your shoe - hopefully you didn't wear holes in your socks!
Thanks Donna!! Aww! Yes! I agree - it’s great to feel like you are somewhere distant and exotic and not just a few miles from home and it also Kaled me really appreciate what is on my door step! So many beautiful locations! Haha! Yes!! The sand out of the shoe scene 🤣🤣🤣. That was the first of a few times that I did that! No hole in socks, but a massive blister on the ball of my foot that made me walk oddly and caused more pain and foot problems for the rest of the week! Lovely as the walk was. ..lesson learned 🤣
Oh that’s lovely to know!! Not long until March now. I hope you have a wonderful time in your van at Brean when you get to go for real. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

Love this video, the sand dunes are great. Amazing that beach is so empty. Thanks for showing the walk, quite a trek through the sand ! 😊

You mention “where the golf club was” in the past tense, is it no longer there?
Oops… meant the golf course. I walked accross it’s to get to the church.

Thank you Shaun! I agree! There is still room to get away from people there. I loved getting a bit creative with some of the scenes in this one.

Eek! Glad that I did not know that when I walked in them! 🐍 I can imagine they would live happily there.

Glad you reached civilisation Louise. That was a very strenuous, thirsty, sandy walk 🐫🐪🥵🥵
Thank you Cathy!! Your summing up of the walk is spot on!! 🤣
