Yeah buying bits is weird - There is a fee when buying them normally. If you buy on mobile there is an addition mobile fee that iPhone and Android charges (hence the cost even more) - Try buying them on a desktop and look out for discount sales.... I hope that helps you out 💪

Nobody's ripping you off. They're free to sell at whatever price they like, and you're free to buy (or not buy) at whatever price you like. "We allow" it, because as long as they're offering this, there are obviously people willing to accept that offer. If there weren't, Twitch would go out of business.

You can either buy bits to give away or receive them through donations.
You can also watch ads to get them

Buying bits is different than receiving bits - When you buy bits there are additional costs attached to them like payment processing and such.
I'm guessing it's like paying tax, but instead of going to the government , it goes to Twitch.
