US and UK militaries strike Iranian-backed Houthi sites in Yemen

- The U.S. and British militaries bombed more than a dozen sites used by the Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen on Thursday, in a massive retaliatory strike using warship-launched Tomahawk missiles and fighter jets, several U.S. officials said. The military targets included logistical hubs, air defense systems and weapons storage locations.
President Joe Biden said in a statement released by the White House: "At my direction, U.S. military forces-together with the United Kingdom and with support from Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands-successfully conducted strikes against a number of targets in Yemen used by Houthi rebels to endanger freedom of navigation in one of the world’s most vital waterways."
The strikes marked the first U.S. military response against the Houthis for what has been a persistent campaign of drone and missile attacks on commercial ships since the start of the war in Israel.

Senator Warner, they aren't Houthi drones. They are Iranian drones and ballistic missiles. That Iranian frigate in the Red Sea was there to spot ships and provide targeting information. Would not doubt if the technicians firing the missiles are Iranian too. Iran is pressuring Egypt to drop the west and the U.S. as its allies (Egypt gets a lot of revenue from the Suez Canal) and deal with Iran instead. Shutting down the Suez does squeeze Egypt were it hurts. This air strike was as much a way to tell Egypt we have its back as it was to protect global shipping.

Lately, the US is always on a very slow delay when it comes to our responses and interests. Why did it take us so long and how many loss of lives and damage could have been prevented. I am perplexed as to how the most powerful nation on earth could be so slow to respond to these threats, especially when we already have all the intel we need.
