This concert was a pop music festival. Some how they got invited and they went extra heavy for the crowd

Yep, I heard it's a pop music festival in Bordeaux. The crowd was about 4k people I'm not sure.
When Gojira left they were about 10% percent remaining.

@@marc3dartist601 hahahaha. I once played a gig on a town near me, and we got there and it was a youth town hall. We got on stage, started playing, I started screaming, literally everyone left. About 200 kids, just up and walked out in unison. It was incredible 😂

I think the thing with gojiras recent popularity is the fact that they do something really special. They are heavy yes but they dont give me a headache if i listen to them for a few hours. Its a lot more melodic especially this album plays a lot with grooves and its one of my favorite projects from them. Its still heavy but in a different sense if that makes..sense lol.

It’s because of what I was saying about how they don’t have all of their instruments detuned. It means there’s a lot of mid and treble in the mix to balance things out, which makes for an easier listen than if it was just bass the entire time. It’s my favourite thing about them tbh, because it’s still undeniably heavy, but it’s not to the point of feeling unrelenting.

@@markabusireactions exactly, plus even the screaming in a lot of other bands is just too much sometimes, like every other band does the pig squeal thing, but joes vocals are so insane that (from what i know) even vocal coaches dont really understand how he does it. Its like hes singing but screaming at the same time and its so insane especially live. I sadly missed their concert in Prague but my friends went and they said joes voice ALONE was shaking everything and everyone.

@@adamcerny2227 I mentioned that in my first reaction to them, he’s actually screaming in tune, and it’s kinda insane. You can actually just sing along with it 😂

I can imagine being in that crowd... I wasn't in THAT crowd... but I was in another crowd at a Gojira concert. It was as intense as you imagine. :)

okay man so just to let you know ,thi ssong is young Gojira , first record they started as a death metal band and became more and progressive with time , but yeah ..first stuff it's heavy but they 're still here those foundation of the band that remains today....on the complete extreme opposite you could eventually check "low lands " about the passing of their mother ' singer drummer ) during th e recording of magma "2015" very emotionnal song but you have to watch the video clip that goes with it

That was fun and it didn't give me a headache as I made the decision to listen on phone speakers instead of proper headphones. In seriousness, it had a lot of nice things going on in it for someone who just likes music, rather than for metal to be as extreme as possible, and you picked out most of them.

This is why I like them, I think they’re a good band for people who want something heavy but don’t wanna get beaten over the head with it.

I can appreciate metal once in a while, but I don't find it pleasant enough to listen to to want to do it on my own time. One thing I like about Band-Maid is that no matter how heavy or weird and proggy and experimental they get, they always bring it home to a catchy chorus.

    • @markabusireactions
      @markabusireactions  9 месяцев назад +1

I can see that. There’s a few of the metal reactions that have made it into my general listening, but mostly it’s an appreciation of the song in the moment and then move on again. This is one I don’t think I’d revisit cause as much as I appreciate it, it was a bit much for me 😂

Thats literally the opening song from their first studio album, Terra Incognita. If you want go back further you would have to dig into early demos, so its basically the most oldschool Gojira song you can find. And oldschool Gojira is heavy, like REALLY HEAVY. This show is fantastic in terms of band's performance, but sadly the mix is weird, just like you said, drums are way too loud, its cool if you want to hear each note that Mario plays but the kick is so loud that the sound is square and even distorted, there are much more "pleasant" recordings of this song to be honest. About the tuning, they're usually playing in D standard, I think everything until The Way of all flesh album is in D. Then it depends on the song, sometimes D standard and sometimes drop C. Great reaction, I hope it wasnt too much and youre gonna keep reacting to Gojira, theres still so much greatness to experience.

Yeah I figured kinda early on I had chosen a pretty bad recording, but I blame the sound technician for that, not the band. I’m quite proud of myself for knowing that was in D lol, I was worried they were way down lower than that and I was gonna look really stupid 😂

LOL this is great ... not a Fan never have been , but your Reaction is fun . Thanks for reminding me why i love Jiluka , Deviloof and Dexcore so much. Jiluka is as chaotic as this but much much more coherent and maybe faster ?! So here i go again until you block me 😂 Do Venom by them !! for Live by Jiluka-Kumari ! 😂I know you will get there someday .
Honestly i never comment on Tracks i don´t like ( The Dragon cries is an exeception ) . Everyone has it´s own Taste in Music and that is good .

I'm probably not in the best state of mind to hear it, anyway. This phlegm is annoying the hell out of me. =(

Technically masterful probably, enervating live performance likely, band enthusiasm rating v. high, positivity and uplifting nature low.
I can appreciate the effort and expertise, but I can't bring myself to enjoy it and I don't find it inspiring.
Sorry guys. Great effort, but it's a pass from me.

It’s the weakest one of the ones I’ve listened to by these guys, but I think they get better as they go on? Cause I’ve liked their later material a lot more.
