Zen means Make your life yours.
禅修是把你的生话变成你自己的。
Zen is Chan style to help you get over your misunderstanding.
禅就是用禅宗的方法，来帮助你突破你的误解。
Wakeup to what your truly are.
觉醒到本来的自性。
When thinking arises in your mind, don't attach to it.
应无所住，而生其心。

This is not the Tathagatagarbha teaching.
The teaching indicates that everyone has an buddha-embryo that must grow until it manifests as the buddha-nature interacting with the world.

That's a really wonderful Zen master - I got to know Zen Master Dea Kwang Sunim when I studied in Berlin - now I'm a Tibetan Buddhist but still very thankful for what I learned during my Zen years ...
