For sure!! people don’t appreciate how much time filming actually takes! To get all the camera angles right along with the sound and light! Plus the editing on top of that! Very time consuming. You guys make it look easy. Wildlife cameras around your property would be pretty good as that footage could help pad out a video if needed! Especially when you get the horses!

You could easily use your existing tractor to move/turn a compost pile. You’ll need minimum five piles per year. One being a dumping pile/area, one being freshly built from the dumped grass/cuttings, two being turned at least once a month and one ready to use. I think you’d enjoy it, Arron. It’s satisfying keeping the piles turned and tidied. Monitoring the temperatures, etc. No need for 20 plus cubic feet piles. If you ensure brought-in hay/straw for the horses is herbicide free, the bedding/droppings will boost the process even better. Would recommend droppings from recently wormed animals are excluded from the cycle.

Im sure it would be so much easier to work without having to constantly move cameras and you amaze me with your filming from so many angles on one project when you are by yourself. Of course if you weren’t filming you wouldn’t have as much work to do because you probably wouldn’t have been able to buy all that land and hundreds of plants - so pros and cons. I love that you both get to work from home and are there for the kids.

About a design for the kneeling pad...I've been looking for that little saying, "The kiss of the sun for pardon, the song of the birds for mirth, one is nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on Earth." Speaking of pronunciations. My example of a wrong way learned from my mom’s family (it’s not even regional because my cousins are the only ones I’ve heard it from as time goes by.). The word is “lawn”. You know , the green grass you mow in your yard. My mom said “LAWND” with a D on the end. I learned it this way until I got into school. My moms family was from Utah. Anyone else heard it this way? I’m guessing if you have, we’re probably related.

Bird Seed! I was curious about how to keep bird seed from sprouting. Nyger seed apparently is treated by heating to 250 'F for 15 minutes. A couple of sites suggested a 300 degree F oven for 30 minutes. One other suggestion was to put up multiple feeders with one kind of seed in each feeder, so the birds can eat their favorite thing without throwing around stuff they don't want.

Hello Laura and Aaron. Just a tip about bird feeders. My chicken runs are large, so they aren’t covered, but open to the sky. I hang bird feeders in them, and the chickens clean up any mess the wild birds make. I also have them hanging from Shepard hooks around the yard. Just move them before mowing. xox 🇨🇦

I have just a regular sized lot in a subdivision in Little Rock, AR with five big trees in front and two in back. I had the great idea to pile leaves in my flower beds to help protect them from the few really cold temps we get. I have started the cleanup and this week was working on biggest bed closest to my house. I had raked quite a bit. Been down on the ground with hand rake and stood up to knock leaves out of my taller azaleas when I came face to face with a snake! When I had gotten a lot of distance between me and him I turned around and saw another one slithering up the azalea and then here came the babies!!!😳😳 It looked like Medusa in my azalea bush! Next year there will not be one leaf left near my house and I will be hiring someone for the job!🤣😎✌🏻

I am glad you have an online store -- especially as long form video and gardening both appear on decline. Most of the RUclips gardeners have a store that sells stuff, whether partnerships or their own branding. I have SO many things that I have seen from your videos that I cannot name them all (from big to small stuff). I support some of the other sites so am thrilled to be able to get stuff from yours. If close on price or even somewhat more, I will purchase from your site and only wish that I wasn't already loaded up from my last three years of purchasing stuff that you've shown in your videos.

Hydrogen peroxide and water for fungus gnats. I have a tiny pine tree i got around Christmas for work that had fungus gnats. I read a mixture of hydrogen peroxide 1part to 5 parts water works and tried it. Haven't seen a fungus gnat since!

What a great week with Garden Answer! Already got my confirmations on my "Mother's Day" gifts of kneeling pads, just got my email on the July 20 event! Can't wait! St. Charles is only a bit over an hour from us here in Southern WI. So anxious to see the pond setups too! Sorry if I sound a bit like a 'stalker fan', and don't want to wish our lives away - but come on Summer!

Darling Laura, I've been gardening professionally for more than two decades and every week I learn new things from you! Last spring I heeded your advice and cut all the raspberry bushes down to about 4 inches. The bumper crop in September was well worth the wait! Last year I was a little late to do it as they were already showing signs of breaking buds, and I worried muchly, but it worked just as you said. I am growing in full sun but in a raised bed on a rooftop. The bed is no more than a foot deep, if that, and they spread rigorously and fruited abundantly. Definitely will try the Fall Gold variety in the near future! Thank You from every corner of my multifaceted heart!
(Added note, maybe add a little natural food coloring to your Fall Gold jam... beetroot powder for instance.)
Thank you Aaron! and the whole Garden Answer team, for everything you do, and for the Love and Beauty you bring!

Zormier: The leader of any plant carries the hormone Auxin, causing it's continued long growth. Side growth carries the hormones Cytokinins. When a leader is cut off, it stops the Auxin in the leader & pushes the Cytokinins, which promotes lateral growth. If you have leggy plants & cut the leaders on each stem, you get a flush of lateral growth, resulting in a fuller plant.

Bird seed mixes like sunflower chips don’t make a mess or sprout because the seed has already been opened so there is nothing to leave behind or sprout from. It does cost more and I think it also shortens shelf life but the birds love them in my experience.

We started composting with bins then switched to doing it in a pile. When we did it in bins the kids would rake the leaves and put them in, and excess kitchen scraps the kids would run them out to the bin. We would pick up sticks they also went to the bin. One year the kid's science project was on composting. We chuckled that they were working on their science project for years with trip to the bin. This was a great teaching lesson for children watching and learning how things break down. When we switched to doing it in a pile, we just ran a garden tiller threw the pile a few times.

We are so lucky to have an industrial composter here that takes residential waste (yard waste, meet, dairy, pet waste, etc). We have a wheelie bin the size of a trash can and it gets picked up weekly or every other week. They serve the restaurants, too, and serve them daily. We get a compost share in return! (though we do still pay for the service, but it's less than $40/month)

So funny that someone else pointed out the insertion of the pronunciation of Obelisk. It was something I noticed and commented on. That sass is definitely Aaron 🤣 Spelling and pronunciation is something that I have been "in competition" with my older sister with, probably all our lives. In our 40's now. for those of us that are particularly good at it, I think we forget that it is something that some people struggle with. It's a topic that can require a careful approach, to avoid getting someone "off-side". One of our favorite shares lately is misheard lyrics videos for laughs. Love these re-cap videos, to see the banter between you two. Thank you, from Australia 😊❤

As a Canadian, I cannot order seeds or plants from the US, without a special permit. So I doubt you can ship plants, etc, to the UK.
