I hope they do king of the dead in a similar fashion to the specters, they’re phenomenal!! The faces in the holes are also a great addition. Perfect collectible overall!

I really have no words!! I hope one day to achieve one of these wonders. I live in Argentina and accessing this Masters Collection line is almost impossible. I was able to get the Bilbo statue on his desk (Classic Series) and the work Weta does is truly amazing. Congratulations on your new acquisition and greetings from South America.

Once again, another perfect unboxing and review! The production quality is unmatched! Fantastic piece! Great sculpt, paint, detail, texture etc. Loved the hidden "easter egg" integrated in the base - that was so cool! First, on Haunt of the Collector's video of this piece, I was not very satisfied with the portrait similarity. However, seeing more close-up shots, I think it is very acceptable. The other attention to detail presented in the clothing, cloaks and so, compensates for it. Congratulations on this master piece👏

I think it is the best purchase you could have made! It is one of the most creative and beautiful statues of Weta along with Saruman on the throne.
Yes although it was expensive I'm very happy and don't regret it one bit. One day I hope to also pick up the Saruman on the Throne, that 1 is truely epic. Thanks for watching Bruce!

It's insane how well thought out this piece is... the attention to detail and planning is amazing on it's own. The faces are a great hidden gem, they did a great job hiding them. I never saw them in any of the promotion shots either... such a cool thing they most definitely didn't have to do. I took your recommendation to finger press the grass and it worked great. When I noticed the faces I was really shocked as Weta made no hints of that and it definitely wasn't in their promotional photos. A really cool hidden easter egg!

So undecided on this! I can’t stand the grass/weak magnets are both scary and a turnoff. But it’s wetas best piece to date and it’s beautiful. Not sure what to do when I get the shipping price. Great review, as always!

Thank you for sharing this video showing in detail all the things to look for and be careful when unpacking this expensive statue!!! I'd wish Weta Workshop somehow would provide a video like yours or better or perhaps detailed instructions about how to unpack and set up this expensive statue.
I do always find very stressful and daunting unpacking a Weta Workshop statue since I'm so paranoid and the statues are so delicate I want to minimize the risks of screwing up or damaging these delicate statues, because if you run into a problem or something breaks you have to wait for Weta NZ Customer Support to reply and with the time difference and distance it might take a while to achieve a satisfactory resolution.
Thank you Carlos I really appreciate that! Weta actually did make an assembly video but it was unlisted so it doesn't show up to the general public. They sent a link to it through email and I think only to people who ordered it. Honestly I'm not sure why they don't just make it public as If someone gets locked out of their email they no longer could find that video.... also I'm sure it might be interesting for people who are just curious.
I was actually pretty scared I might have a break as I saw someone posting some photos on FB of theirs that was broken. I guess he was unlucky though as it seems for most people to have been ok. I hear you on their customer support ... they do seem to have been getting better though.

Great video. If you should chose betwen P1 lotr or weta...which one?
Weta is more likely to take on unique things from LOTR that no other company would do, but they do have some weaker aspects like face sculpts and they only do 1/6. Prime 1 does 1/4 scale (which I wish I had more of) and does better face sculpts and usually has a better paint job. If I had to choose just 1, since I'm a big LOTR fan I would go with Weta since not only do I love the statues they made but they were hands on with the films.

I've been working on a new 3d printed project and hoping to finish it this weekend. I've been filming it as I made it so after will be working on a video for it. Hopefully sometime next week.
The statue is really well done and at least they used a usb type C plug rather than a micro usb !

Yes will definitely put the artwork in a frame but it'll probably go in storage for now until I move.
The one thing I hate about this piece are all the wafts of the mixed media grass (or whatever it is supposed to be). It looks more like pieces of a blonde wig all over the top of the base.
It’s a nice piece , but compared to Smaug? I really thought Smaug should have been a masterpiece collection
I agree with you Smaug is fantastic... it definitely has more presence than the dead marshes but this was executed better I think.
see..people like you are the reason I cant get the one statue i want becuase its 5k second hand sell and i have to pay shipping to make sure it doesnt get damaged.

As someone who is very critical of Weta's facesculpts, I actually think that Frodo is very good.
Definitely better than 90% of Frodos
