You Should NOT Play Nicheknights.

- You have heard it before, the many reasons why you gotta try to play a niche, but that is not something we all have to do.
I play with bears, and I do it because I like bears.
Playing a niche is not an obligation, it's not an end goal, and sometimes it's barely even a challenge. You need to decide for yourself what you want to do to have fun in the marvelous game that is Arknights.

For me, the funniest thing with nicheknights is to come up with completely random niches as an excuse to play some weird team with my favorite characters. Idc if no one recognizes them, it's fun to bring along lighting throwing ops and see if you can still clear the stage.
As you said, the endgoal here is to have fun, and I think nothing is objectively fun, burning down a whole stage with Surtr can be fun sometimes
Anything is a niche if you're willing to go all out with it. :P A friend does AoEknights (operators with AoE primary attacks only, so Eyja doesnt count etc. and he can only bring AoE medics.) and it's hilarious watching the end results with so many explosions on screen.
It reminds me some "niches" I played in the past like "HornyKnights" just playing characters with horns or "GerontophiliaKnights" just playing white hair characters (btw, that one was inspired by the fact that A LOT of characters have white hair... HG is peak charadesign...)
Not playing abyssal hunters but playing "aegir" squad cuz thorns and lumen must be on the team
yeah i think its way cooler if you have really weird and unique niches. I asked for suggestions once (so i'd have an excuse to use robin instead of dorothy) and got some really good ones such as depression knights, bindknights, and clusterknights (arguably the most unique one).
The real best way to play Arknights is to pull for Mizuki as soon as possible because he deserves your undivided attention
And then feed him lots of materials and tapes and LMD so he can carry you.
As someone who first E2 op was him all I can say is that I agree.
And never forget to say "Thank you Mizuki" after everytime u clear something with him
forfeit all mortal possession to mizuki
Is it because of his soft armpit?
my niche is 'whichever character i like and want to use right now'
i call it
"likeknights"
Mine is “good-voicelines-knights”
🤣Love it! That's the best one!
This. Non meta knights, waifu knights
Actually, in Eha's video about nicheknights (where u also were featured) one thing was said that resonated with me: "it [going into the niche] forces you to appreciate each operator for what they are instead of mindlessly comparing them to things that are better or people say are better"
I usually use trustknight (no high trust operators basically) just because I dont like when resourses get wasted (trust, in this case), but I have another small story: recently in NL-S-5 my Saga (standing in Heavyrain's 8 tiles range) while healing from her passive and having 90% physical dodge, just completely ignored archers' global randge arrows for like 5-6 seconds. At that moment my brain was just "i wanna try dodgeknights", because the idea of simply ignorong damage looked like so much fun.
If Manfred can have 80% physical and arts dodge, why cant I?
To be fair any playstyle is a good playstyle, as long as you're having fun. No point of playing certain playstyle if it makes you mald or giving you a bad time in Arknights.
Personally I've been a fan of *4 operators since day 1 I started playing, at first it's just that I dont like seeing elites or bosses melted by higher rarity operators and still have their own uniqueness, (I still occassionaly uses all the *6 or *5 that I have in hand though, just because I dont want to think at the time, or dont have the time to do so)
but after reading some of the *4 lore and operator files, they deserve more love, so it kinda drive me to play with *4 until this day. I kinda wish they added *4 ops more often.
Yeah, it's kinda sad they slowed down so much. I guess at the end of the day, they have to make some business decisions sometimes
@@RewriteKuma Yeah, a bummer, not complaining tho, at least they're still releasing one every now and then, 3* is sadder.
And yeah, it kinda make sense to make more interesting operator *5 or *6, if they wanted to make it appealing.
my niche is trustknights. the only condition is the operator cannot have max trust. that way when i clear an event stage it is automaticaly a trust farm :D
Nice. You'll end up playing with every operator in the game 😂
Lol, this ist what I've been doing for a while too.. it's quite fun when just a few operators are strong enough to carry the rest which is usually not leveled at all 😂
I'm migrating to a niche myself because I want to learn new operators, to try different strategies, and to justify Greyy the Lightningbearer's existence in my roster. After I adopted my niche, a few of my friends picked up their own niche for their own reasons, probably among them being peer pressure. I plan to stick with it, especially since I already have most of the ops built up fairly decently already; they just need a little push to get to a good state. And I have my usual squad on standby if I simply don't have the time or energy to make my niche work in an event.
I'm playing the game how I want. Sometimes it's with Canineknights, sometimes it's with Whoever The Hell I Want. It's all good. Of course I'm going to be trying to press their limits, cause that's one of the ways I play the game, but hey. Long as I don't push that on anyone else, right? I thought that restricting my squad would be fun. It is. That's all I need.
Indeed! The important part is to have fun!
Why do I play nicheknights? Because I like to have fun with different operators, and because it can get boring to Surtr, Silverslash, Monst3r, Mudrock and volcano everything since it tears apart the entire balance of the game. Make no mistake though, it can also be fun to shred through everything sometimes, and I will always prioritise building and pulling meta operators so I have the tools I need when I don't want to play nicheknights for a moment.
But then what niches do I play?
At first I just made derpy but fun teams, using Rosa, Mostima, Dusk, stuff like that.
Even sometimes bringing operators related to an event or fitting with a certain visual or kit themes that the event has.
In the Break the ice I mostly brought stuff from karlan trade, but also took Carnelian with snow skin for example. Fun stuff.
Eventually I started dipping my toes into Vanguardknights for a little bit, and loved it but didn't take it too seriously.
Then Abyssal Hunters happened. First I didn't know if I wanted such high investment for a niche squad, but I knew they were also quite powerful with the synergy so I just tested out Module lvl 2, I quickly got hooked, maxed all modules and M2 the main skills. Eventually I could not resist and M3 them except guard Specter.
I am still obsessed with this squad, I've been bringing it everywhere as my core team and also try to beat all stages with just AH, especially boss stages.
They are incredibly powerful, do decent~good dph and are nigh immortal. All of them become laneholders (except Andreana ofc). I would dare say that AH squad is niche, only if you truly limit yourself to them, and even then it feels borderline sometimes since they can beat 7-18 no mines, JT8-3, and they basically trivialise any stage with only 1 or 2 lanes to look after.
I think if you put the AH core into a full squad, they are strong enough to arguably be considered meta, this is why it is important for me to challenge the squad by only using them whenever I can.
I've also been coping for over a year now, to get more operators with green hair so I can actually play what I call "greenhairknights" which is exactly what it sounds like. With only Hoshi, Estelle and Gavial medic it never got far, if something had drones you'd be doomed. Lacking in dps was also an issue. Now we have Gavialter, but we lose sustain if we use her.
Thankfully soon we can use alters together, and we will get Harmonie for arts dps and to hit drones. Not sure if this will be enough to make the niche into what I want, but I will damn try! At least all the basics will be covered.
I got an account back in 2020, I went to hell and back with it. It was fun, and then the Dossoles Holiday incident began, along with a shift in AKEN schedule (CN Anniversary becoming EN Player Appreciation while CN Summer becoming EN Anniversary). These, along with the fact that I failed to get every limited operators I wanted despite saving everything and the kitchen's sink for them (W, Rosmontis, Dusk, and Ash), made me quit the game.
I returned a few months later, but not with the old account. Instead, I started anew. There weren't many 6* operators at that point for me to play, only Angelina, Bagpipe, Mostima and Eunectes at the time I received it, so I decided to try a 4* with one 6* playstyle. Turned out, while it suited me for a while, it wasn't exactly what I wanted to play. Eventually, I realised that starting anew is the chance to save for whoever I wanted but didn't get back in the old days. It was harsh at first seeing I had to part way with the old "nuking 'til there remains nothing" and play more tactically, but that really hit the spot of my resourceful personality. Gradually, that playstyle crystallised into my current roster; a roster with every mean to stall the hell out of every fight but lacking the goddamn AoE nuke to clean up the battlefield. That being said, it is fun, surprisingly fun. I am still chasing 6*, but I become less dependent on guides and walkthrough, and more confident in cooking up my own way of dealing with things. And what happens if I can't deal with that? I still have a rerun to tackle it again.
I won't say that I am a meta chaser (because I passed on many "meta" nuker like Mlynar, Mountain, Thorns, Surtr, et cetera), nor I am a niche (because I still use strong 6* like Pozyomka, Kal'tsit, Horn and Ling). I am just resourceful and use whoever I have at the moment. That is actually what keeps me in Arknights; there is next to none obligatory of getting meta characters to deal with events.
You have a great story! I do wish people would try lower rarity operators more often. They might not win in a single hit, but you learn so much from them, and in the end you find really strong operators, even among the 4*
i recently grew to love la pluma and her design after pulling her and decided to play a niche with her in it. so now I'm getting into birdnights and while I'm still not ready to try hard stages its fun doing something different. sometimes you get tired of slapping down chen and taking a nap while she clears stages
Birdknights is actually a very strong niche. I have a lot of faith in you.
I too love La Pluma and have one big question for you: Swimsuit skin, or no?
@@randomcatname7792 i wanted to buy it when it came out but I used all my op to get chen alter 😭 buying it once it comes back 100%
Birds awesome
@@randomcatname7792 now i wonder who is the strongest niche
DPSknights? Tierlistknights? HorseKnights?
banger video, the record part especially is a really important point. i've seen so many people start playing niches and get consumed by the need to match or beat records that they stop enjoying it entirely. if you're not enjoying what you're doing, why bother?
I like playing physical ranged or Sniper/Bow/Gun classes in MMOs and other games so naturally I built up a lot of snipers. Because of this gravitation towards a specific class, I wanted to see what I could be capable of doing with my Snipers for Sniperknights. I feel that naturally gravitating towards a niche rather than building towards one can be a fun way to start your own nicheknights journey as opposed to forcing yourself into one if you don't have an idea what you're doing or a solid reason to start.
I play Nicheknights, but I don't see it as a competition because in every niche you have powerful operators. That means you will play the same ops over and over again if you are hunting for records. I just want to play the underdogs and show what cool stuff they can do while also challenging myself. I also haven't seen people actively push others into playing nicheknights, so I'm not sure where that came from. I have a casual friend who loves Kazimierz and that's what he plays. Thanks to the powerhouse Mlynar he can play them on more stages now which is a dub in my books.
Thanks for this vid! You make an excellent point about people playing the game their way, that people shouldn't be influenced by others just because of "peer pressure" or "content creators tell us to" or something. It's a very wholesome attitude.
Yeah I tend to go soft nicheknights personally, mostly because my favorite units are often Snipers or Casters and focusing on niches helps keep the game fresh in a way. But there can be maps like Annihilations where one has the urge to just pull out Thorns and not worry about it lol, thankfully HG finally gave us skip tickets for that
I got bored of playing with my faves so I shifted to playing with just "cats" and its been a lot more fun for me
HELP you literally just answered my dilemma. Like i wanted to start a nicheknights (Artificer knights I know) but I am literally a beginner, i guess it was the content creator in me. I want both Stainless, because hot man, and Chongyue, my husband
I will be getting the big dragon dude when he drops, I like the dragon lore a lot, I have the other 3 sister so far
@@RewriteKuma Goodluck on your summons!
While I am sort of bored with regular AK events but, too broke to actually build and play NicheKnights I can only rely on IS 2 and see what I can do with limited operators. In my case, it's a good place start to try things out.
I guess my reason that I play nicheknights is that I love doing it, no more no less, I pretty much just raise characters that I love, hell, it made me struggle, but that's part of the fun imo. And if I really do need help, there are guides out there, and just apply the logic they used to clear the stage on my niche units, its that easy~ (at least that's how it is for me.)
I play R6-nights, often with buffers or robots as healers or supplaments.
Tachanka-nights are for bosses supplamented by seperate line holders and hard buffers.
Yeah... my niche is wierd.
I started a secondary account for cat operators for two reasons, first GG my beloved and second because I got a Rosmontis in a secondary account that got a Silverash in the reroll process.
Even though I took the time to plan how and why I should do it and how far I can push them
imo, if you play integrated strategies, it can be a very good way to find out how compatible you are with nicheknights. Often, I get a random operator maxed out to e2 m9 and thrown into my lap for free, and I discover that I actually enjoy playing with an operator I'd forgotten was even part of the game.
For other characters, I find that I don't mind picking them as a 'temporary option' for early stages, over and over again, just because I didn't realize how much I liked using them. And there's just some personal bias- like how I stubbornly like phantom even though texalter and yatoalter have all but buried him- and how I still haven't raised La pluma because I'm waiting for Highmore instead.
I'm not yet tired of playing comfortably with 6 star ops as I feel like I'm being rewarded for my efforts in grinding for them. But if I ever do, I'll assemble ops I like and _then_ think of a niche that fits them + some other ops to make up a full squad. I'll just see how it goes~
Never thought about it this way, not everyone needs a niche. For me, I quit pretty much at launch because my RNG was good and I quickly became AFK knights, I was told to save up/use resources in a certain way and the game felt empty. Didn't help that there wasn't really anything going on event wise either.
I came back to see they're finally added men, and a lot of them too. A lot are free and limited men can be a orundum sink. It feels like there's enough to do a lot and have variety. I do have fun. Play with bad men to start and then stronger men to finish for the medal cope, but overall I enjoy it. I'm glad I can play this game again.
That's a lovely story to hear! It's very nice that Arknights has an ok number of male characters, even though they are still a minority
Choosing a niche out of liking chars is one of the things that made me stick to the game even after almost 3 years, and yeah, I agree that not everyone should play a niche
I guess I can say I started playing niches because I wanted to use my favorites everywhere, then I started playing supporterknights until it stopped being fun (Ling's fault), then I played vulpoknights for a while, now I'm playing with Siracusa Squad which is a headache but it's also so satisfying clearing stuff with it... it's good to be able to look forward to new ops and also to brainstorm how I'm gonna use them in my niche (can't wait for Lunacub for camuflage shenanigans!)
I'm also the type of person who doesn't care about optimization, so people won't see me pushing for lower op records because I find that to be too much of a pain
I might pick up my old niches once in a while, but well, if I do pick supporterknights again, it will be without summoners because I kinda hate summoners gameplay. I'm just waiting for the new vulpo baby to arrive to play with vulpoknights again though!
My account is at the point where i can build anyone i want so i'm building some ops for this new niche that i just came up with
Sure hope i don't give up half way like every thing else in life haha lol
Yeah, know how it is. Sometimes I don't even want to do things I like because I'm too lazy for it. Just do it! i'm sure you can.
I started doing my own Foxknights playthrough of Chapter 11 Adverse with a dare and happened to discover as I was struggling midway through that the last operator released for this niche was from 2020. I am not quite sure what this says about the game or me that I was able to clear almost every stage except for stage 15 and 20 adverse with a roster that is literally 3 years old, especially when I discovered that Steward was my only consistent arts damage for some maps.
If anybody reads this, I have only one suggestion as a veteran fox knights player:
Don't.
Also Suzuran is our light and she will bath all in cleansing fire as armagedon rains all around them and Breeze is actually super useful and kept my units alive way longer than I expected so pls try her out one day I swear it's not a waste of 300 red certs
On my f2p acc I am building (mostly) Columbian ops since Dorothy is my favorite op.
On my second acc I am trying to go Guards only, though I would definitely go Lupo only if I get more as an excuse to use Pozy all the time.
I am really happy that I am playing like this since it makes me think of the stages in completely different ways for each acc. I am not done building teams for each niche, definitely have a while to go, but I am getting there.
Does bringing Angelina often in squads considered a niche?
Because she and Perfumer were the ops that am more likely to bring them out of habit
There are times to limit my main ops by bringing ops that needs to build a trust
Been mixing fun and meta ops, just to keep the dynamic going while learning some ops that I barely use much to know how to use them for later/future stages
Only went full meta when I don't have time
I don't know whether this count as niche or not, but i play with a rule that is basically "You can't bring more than 4 6☆ in a Squad and ban meta operators."
To top it all off, i already have 125 E2 at this point so i really want to give another some spotlight. Minus the Meta operator i have of course.
It only counts if you want it to count, as it is with everything else. You'll become a great player in no time challenging yourself like that 😄
I dont have enough brain for a proper nicheknight, the most I can do is PinusS with some other support like medic or fast redeploy, goddamn it Flametail and Fartooth got me actin unwise
I love nicheknights, but more than that, I want to use operators I enjoy using. Some of my old niches just weren’t fun to me, and whilst I will stick with my current niche I don’t think I’ll try others. Rather, I realized that “I don’t need to have a niche to limit myself.” I of course want to challenge myself, so normal squads using some of the operators I like are out of the question. That’s how I decided to start building a squad that only has operators I like, currently only with Magallan and Rosmontis but eventually with Kafka s2, Dorothy, and further on Reed alter and Lin. Until then, I shall still play my current niche, because although small squads are fun, I still like the Romans :)
I kinda want to give multiple niches a try, just for the fun of it. I don't think I'm quite ready to do anything yet - the closest I've gotten is building the main trio of Abyssal Hunters to module level and getting their modules, with only Spectral having hers at level 3 - but seeing as I have literally every specialist aside from Kirara I could definitely see my self running Specialistknights, and I love both the Abyssal Hunters and Lee's Detective goobers enough to try running their teams as well. But that'll all have to happen in the future, once I've gathered enough resources to build up all the requisite characters for the niches while also not neglecting all the OTHER characters I have and want to build. I am not a very focused individual.
To you I can say, just do it. You don't really need everything built to try it out, and it's even better for your situation if you don't have everything ready, because if you end up building all the ops you want from one niche but end up not really wanting to do it again, that's not cool at all.
@@RewriteKuma Well, I mean, at least insofar as specialists go I'd like to get a decent number of them to at least E1 max, especially since the desire to do Specialistknights was only inflamed when I first realized Kirara was my only missing op. As a result, quite a few of them are still only E1 lv 1 or lower for me, including some of the stronger non-six stars like Ethan and Projekt Red, and most of my E1 Max or higher ops are 6-stars. Jaye, Frost, and Waai Fu are the only exceptions, and Frost is still only skill rank 6 for some reason (though speaking of Frost, another niche I'd like to try is R6knights since I was lucky enough to nab all four of them).
As for Lee's goobers, I want to get modules for Waai Fu and Hung before I start using the full team, since those two are, well... let's say "flawed". Though fortunately I've already built up Aak, Lee, and Jaye (if he counts as part of the group), so on that front I'm covered.
Lmao I was thinking of trying Sami knights after IS4 drops for global...then I realized there is one melee and it alongside another Sami op are locked behind Contingency Contract store which no longer exists I think.
When Near Light first released (I'm an ak elder, I know, I started playing around six months after the global server opened) Mlynar quickly became a character I adored because I'm a lore reader. I was hyped af when he was announced for playable, and I knew I wanted to bring him to every stage no matter how good he turned out to be when actually released.
Turns out he was really good, and his second talent was an excellent reason to get into Kazimierzknights. So I occupied myself with building the other kazimierz ops I hadn't done yet while waiting the six months for him and Proviso to arrive to add to my arsenal. No regrets- it's been worth it to get to highlight my favorite tired old salaryman. Sure, I know he can perform off the charts with support from/in conjunction with non-kazimierz six stars, but I enjoy using him on his home field best just because it provides the right amount of challenge for me, and puts my fave center stage. He would hate that.
I just wish we can see more of his motivations. An Obscure Wanderer didn't have quite as much as I wanted to see.
@@RewriteKuma He's very much a character who forces you to read between the lines and exercise the ability to extrapolate or infer what's actually going on in his head, which is one of the things I like about him- you just never properly know what's beneath the surface. Personally, I could write an essay on how OW said a lot more about him by omission and misdirection than it *seems* to actually say in the first place. That said, I know it's a bit of an acquired taste and hard to parse (a lot of people have said similar things, to my knowledge, about OW) and I only got to the point I'm at with knowing his lore because I was hungry to hear it. Not ideal for most people, but I enjoy the complexity, so I delight in it.
(And delight in taking all of that emotional complexity and obscurity (no pun intended) and making him the star of my gameplay.)
i often play guardknights just for fun. in every game i play i end up being poor so i have 1 build character and the rest are in horrible state and same goes for AK, that is why i don´t have many m3, module, lvl 3 module, e2lvl60+ however in AK i enjoy it because i can still clear every content with just borrowing 1 support if i have a problem, it is good that i dont even have to pull for every guard, i am missing SA, Surtr, Chen, Pallas and im fine
I leave the extraordinary things to extraordinary people. I play on my own pace, going meta and niche depending on the mood and schedule. I prefer stability over anxiety in my runs, so I mostly built my squads around that idea. If on the mood, I also try to downgrade said team as much as possible while maintaining the stability.
I love nicheknights but... does anyone remember 1-tile or 1-p relay?
playing all the metas can be very boring after sometimes, so the only niche i play is Abyssal Hunters(they're still super strong, but having the play with only 4 ops feels fun and challenging)
I play it because impressed seeing how Cesith streaming no gacha account for hours and hours before succeeded to beat event or CC.
I am pretty confused. I am new to Arknights so idk the community yet but how is content this good and mildly funny so underrated? I come from the Genshin and FGO fandom btw, so I am used to a big gacha fandom
I'd like more forte ops in general that aren't defenders, as that niche just be so blegh for me personally. At least for now, sniperknights has been a blast, especially when I sideline Chalter where she belongs to clear stages. It's not an always on button as well, as I'll go back to a more balanced crew on the occasion I don't want majorly think, but a niche do hit you right when it can bring a pleasure like clearing a high risk CC every so often.
Great advice. Don't play a niche for any reason other than you want to. I love figuring out how to mess up a stage with only specialists some days. Why? Just because. Other days, I play with (mostly) meta operators. I mean, sometimes you just have to use Mostima.
You were too late, I already E2'd my blemi and maxed her module(I didn't know nor cared for her trash module).
Why? Cause I use her with croissant s2 since croissant s2 isn't popular to use and no other reason.
I do not play any niche but i think diversity is the way to not feel burnout, I feel like playing over and over the same squad within a niche must become quite boring , I have more than 150 e2 and when I feel like it I play abyssals or Kazimierz or Victoria, sometimes low rarity, sometimes high rarity when I'm lazy sure I have some favorite but I try to keep using all sorts of characters
I like Niche stuff like Franka e2s2m3 or Phantom. I do have e2 s3m3 chalter but still push Executor wherever i can cause hes my favourite sniper. I like Courier s2m3 for example, i like Matterhorn s2m3, i like my SA m3, also using other skills besides s3. So far my favourite niches are Franka, Angelina and Magallan. I refuse to call Phantom "niche" im not that old yet!
Ya, I fall in the second category so I agree with the title.
I'm in a weird place. I'm a Creature of the Sea. So getting, raising and using all the Ægir operators is basically a must. Which... Abyssal Hunters. I love every single one of them, but it's getting borderline ridiculous. Already.
for me to prevent the burnout, i build ops instead of playing nicheknights.
ops that are welfare or have paradox sim are the one that i will build regardless will i use them or not 😆
I don't play nicheknights, but i always use Flamebringer and bring as little OP as my brain can handle. Also, most of my OP are E2L60, some are 70, and only some 5* are 80 (those who are released after FB) just so FB stays at the first place in the roster, even if i put more OPs as fave.
Might change once Chong Yue comes to GB. Might gonna 90 him.
I tend to play with a slightly different ruleset.
16-Ops Squad. (YoRHa squad I guess?)
Use 16 operators, 2 from each class (randomised for you) to clear everything (For my case, only one of them is allowed to be a 6-star). They're not the A-team, but they're *your* team. Bring them to glory, even if it means having not enough arts damage for Chapter 7 and 8 stages / some events like Ideal City.
You get no backup, no way to change the team. There is no back-up. The support unit you can borrow must be part of the 16 (so you can bring 13 operators for every stage), so basically it's showing the power of the 16 in your squad, kind-of like Valkyria Chronicles in a way.
Not hard enough? Use Ironman rules & no-pause rules, operators that are defeated (not manually retreated by yourself) are permanently locked out. Even if others luck out and get a Surtr for their squad, they need to be good at counting the time & seconds themselves. Is it worth using Surtr on S3, or is it safer to lean back on S2?
My dumbass just hoping for more Durin operators so I can finally achieve my dream, Durinknights niche XD
As an average player, I throw in a nicheknight gameplay every so often just to challenge myself, to see if I can do it. Sometimes I'll use my waifu, sometimes I'll use operators I haven't used before, sometimes I'll try to Surtr solo. In the end, I just do whatever I feel at the moment and what I think would be interesting or fun or make me use my brain more than clicking two buttons.
I do lupoknights for a very simple reason, wolves are my favorite animal, so yeah, i gonna play only wolves, but other than that i just set out to get all the lupos after my first lupo came home(lappy), because she would mention texas and I was new(2y ago btw) so I looked up texas on the wiki and saw she was also a lupo, shortly after I discovered the race tab and went to lupos and then decided I must have them all. I never whaled for them, the only ones I saved for were texas alter and penance because texas was limited. They don't need full pot as soon I get them, the only full pot lupos I have are red(recruitment), lunacub(texas alt banner), vigil(given), and quartz(given). The rest are range from pot4(aosta and lappy) to no pot(horn and penance). I will admit that lappy is in all my squads except the abyssal hunters one because she isn't one.
I don't have a issues with bored cus I take 3-5 month to e2 my six star if is don't have event 😂😂😂
I was playing maleknight for a long time already but I also decided to make one more account and try Cesith's idea with "only use first 12 operators u'll get from the gatcha". I love my malenights accout but by the time passed u can start feeling bored by using the same operators all over again even if it's not meta or if it's ur fav characters (we have a lot more males these days but still). Niche introduces u to operators u never used before and new playstyles so it's a good way to make yourself be more interested in the game again. Yes there is people that can beat very hard stages with just 3* but it's still not that easy and that's great! Difficulty is what makes this game worth to play and I like to see people make yourself even more challenges if that's what will make the game more interesting to them. But of course it's not smth everyone should do. Play how you want and with who you want. It's just a game after all
My nicheknight is the 4 Vanguard knight. With Myrtle, Texas, Zima, and Bagpipe overboosting my DP, I don't have to worry about it through the match unless I was really wasteful with it.
i play savraknights as an excuse to use rangers.
even if having effectively 4.5 units with basically no healing and a total of 4 block means i usually have to upgrade to savradiles pretty quickly...
I love doing niecheknights but sometimes I get burnt out from the game more easily. Thats why I flip flop between some nieches since some might give me more enjoyment rather than throwing you head against nl-ex-8 with siracusans everyday
I love playing nicheknights. I only use Operators that are available on my account. I find that it stops me from exploiting OP Operators since they may not be on my account. :)
I was somewhat bored with the game, at some point you will just plow through every event level till the boss without much thought, and fairly often even the boss. I transformed my main account to 4* stars, and now much more of every event becomes a challenge. I still have my 6* for weeks when I'm too busy or tired from work, but now the game is fun again. On my alt account I now only raise 5*/6* that are considered not meta or are just fun to play with even if they are weak.
For me, I like to play as MetaKnights as even though I got most meta units, my “Vifer” brain still some how find a way fail event stages so I’m not ever bored
People play nicheknights because of competition / to be cool, i play nicheknights because i love angels and demons. I play Sarkaz-Sanktaknights. One of the benefit of playing a niche, at least imo, when your niche having a very hard time to clear a stage, you can always go back to regular squads. That way, i can learn about not only the niche's shortcomings, but also mine as a player.
I am not interested in niche knights because my niche is *defenders*
I don't want to just lose whenever any floating enemies show up.
And I don't have Liskarm either.
Just trying to beat the NL-S stages with as few six stars as possible is kicking my ass.
I need a niche. What should I play
So in conclusion, don't listen to others to start playing nicheknights. Unless its Google. If google tells you to play nicheknights, they probably know what they are talking about.
I just invest some operator, mostly 6*, because I can only play arknights 1-2 hour every day as my life is struggling on working, yeah not much to nicheknights
The next thing you know, we'd be playing milfknights and loliknights lol
The true niche knights is the off banners we got along the way
The two "niches" I've enjoyed playing are basically a more personal niche; "redknights" where I only use red themed characters(at max orange) cuz red is my favorite color. The good part about it is that bagpipe is enough "red" to be a part of it so dp isnt a problem lol heals on the other hand... Perfumer and Gummy are the best I could get for this, Gummy is Pog but my Perfumer is at lvl 1 because she is also a member of the second niche I like; " lvl 1 gaming". Sure I cant go that much further on stages but its always very rewarding when I clear a stage that is suppose to be beaten with elite 1 lvl 20 or 30 with only lvl 1 ops, Nearl awesome is awesome there with the heals and Tequila is a monster when I get the right timing hehe oh and now I understand the hype for Gavialter, her 4* version is a gigachad with high heals even at such low lvl.
Good stuff. Gotta love the battle croc doc
Been playing Arknights pretty much since release. Eventually stuff got boring and I designed what would now be called "points knights". That was long before nicheknights became a thing. Basically, I would assign a point value to every operator and set a point limit (e.g. Surtr would cost 15 points and I could only bring 60). Overall a cool system which allowed me to promote usage of different OPs by discounting them/making them more expenisve and having my meta options on the table if I wanted them. Long story short, it felt fresh for a while but then keeping all the values in my head during the squad building became tiresome and boring and I realised I need to make an app to track them. I had no idea how though, so that's where it all ended. Nowadays I have 100+ E2s, most with masteries, but only use like 20 of them total. The only reason I still play is probably because I like collecting stuff. Having that app though would enhance my experience tremendously, so I think nicheknights is a good thing, if done for the right reasons.
There is a tool like that. A big JP streamer plays with draft squads with a point system, I can give you the link for the tool, but it's all in JP. I'm not sure if there is anything like it in English. suns-wyk.com/operators-random-choice/#/tool
I'm a fan of getting records on EX-1 and of any player who does the same
Well yeah you can kind of fall in to a trap with niche nights and hate your self/style of play after playing too long with a niche but as long as you remember that you can just switch back or keep it in moderation then its fine
but if you really hate yourself try LowTrustNights......
There are some ops that i prefer to use for some reasons:
-Dorothy /Silince /Warfarin /Pudding /Astganne /Snowsant: They are Scienece or Tech woman
-Magallan /Scene /Mayer: mecha summoners.
-Angelina: Cuz she is simply cute. Sometimes cant even deploy her because of the deployment limit but take her with me in the squad as a moral booster (when i started the game she was the only 6* from the newbei banner that i wanted and i rerolled for her 9 times thanks to God of RNG)
Ceobe: DaDaDaDaDa
-Kafka /Irene /La Pluma /Pinecone /Archetto: They are birb, cute and strong.
I also use other operators time to time but those are my favs. I pulled for dorothy even tho texas alter banner was close since i am not interested in her even tho she is insane. (i am also not gonna pull for yato alter banner)
I choose my operators cuz i like them. Even i cant beat a stage easily its OK. My beloveds are strong enough to smash everything out of existance. If a stage is not beaten I should be blamed one to have a brain of a sea cucumber.
For the nicheknights case i thought about it for a while but in the conclusion i don't find it applicable for me. Since whichever niche i choose i will have to leave some of my favs and have to use some ops that i would feel internal crises just giving my hard earned resourceses.
On the other hand i like to watch nicheknights clears. Like birbknights, supporterknights and bearknights :D (4* stars only is also interesting)
Whoever have read this whole thing Thanks for reading my rambling. I hope you to get your favs in 10 pulls.
:D
😁You can keep my 10 pulls, my fav is a welfare
Playing arknights with operators you loved is the best way to play it,because arknights is big brain game, can solving the stage if you use your brain even though so different than any guide in youtube
To be honest,i am often playing stages with Mizuki and Kirara as art attacker,it is so challenging and hard cuz 0 block, but everytime i finish,it is so satisfying😂
(*sorry for bad english, not my first language, thanks for reading✌^-^)
Thank god I'm a filthy casual, some of that sounds kinda stressful. It's not for everyone, but I just go play a different game if I feel bored with AK.
I love doing Metaknights clears where you can use ALL the broken operators game has to offer BUT with a twist that is either to bring like 2 or 3 of them with no redeployment or NOT using their bread and butter skills and let me tell you its just borderline fun lol
You dont see SA being a defender and Surte staying on the field for more than 20 seconds everyday
Also this effectively kills operators like Chalter that has a single broken skill but mediocre other skills so it ramps the difficulty quite high
I sometimes do One skill challanges too where i am forced to use a skill ONCE per stage so i should be mindful of who i place and where i place almost all the time
Well to add on this its just immposible to hurt Lings usefullness with ANY restriction so i either don't use her or just dodge her s3 as much as possible to not trivalize all content in the game lol
Wanted more excuses to use Rosa and when I took a look at the characters her passive buffed, I already had all of em so I just started leveling bears until "whoops, all bears".
i play a nicheknight called nobrainknight, it means playing whatever operator but dont use brain power.
I have a niche, not because I want to play with my waifu or because I was told to do so. I have it because it's strong and compatible with almost all other ops
Yes, it's the fish squad
I play the VAKnights just to check the seiyuu and do some va reference jokes
Maybe I would try Nicheknight one day. For now, I'll watch people suffering 🍿
Specialistklnights used to be so much fun, but now that Texas and Yato exists, it's barely even a nice... So now I need to find a new one :(
They're not even out yet. Just just get a specific subclass in specialist and use it
@@Axlken214 to be fair, specialists were already strong, but Miss Fast Redeploy Surtr puts them over the edge lol
You have the option to restrict yourself from using them
Niche playstyle are cool, in my opinion, because they show how deep Arknights' gameplay can be.
And it is always interesting and refreshing to see different ways of playing from different people.
People play meta to save effort and time. And people play niches to have more fun and challenge.
All above doesn't mean you should *force* yourself or other players to play in such way.
The "force" is the key word though.
I don't see nothing wrong in sharing or watching other players' creative clears of difficult stages.
Man im so tired of Arknights... Just lost my two years acc for reasons and started as a new player yesterday... Already spent dollars on the monthly and the game... Got the collab unit too...
I like the game and so on, character, anime, story (though i skipped it but i know the important stuff),i just felt tired... Do you know what should i do now on? Or at least reason i should stay on the game? Kind of sad too for seeing the other old player had all the fun and broken unit...
I will give you honest advice. If you are not having fun with the game anymore, you should find a different game that gives you joy. I like playing arknights so much that I play everything with 4 stars, not to look cool, and not because it's a niche, but because I like the difficulty level I get from playing with them. In your case, if you can't have fun without having a very strong account, you could either get one from someone else, or accept that you have to go through the motions to get there.
I started playing 5*s during the first DH run. Had only been back in the game for 6 months and didn't have that great an account yet my main reason back then was how easy it was to just clear stages. So swapped into clearing them in a way I thought was still not too hard but not as trivial either. And then in itself became too easy and I started seeing all the low op clears and started striving for it. Still not sure whether that was a good choice or not. Being competitive makes this only the only way I can enjoy the game yet always feel frustrated at how good other players are, and that frustration has only gone up recently as a few more good ones joined the scene. I do hold a decent amount of records in the 5* niche, but the stuff some others do is always more impressive and interesting than my own. The people who play the niche without minding what has been done before in terms of op count and just doing what they feel like are probably the big winners. Not leaving this comment for any reason other than providing a perspective, in spite of everything I still enjoy the way I play.
Overall agreed with the point of the video, the coolest way to play the game is playing it however you want, not how people tell you to, regardless of what that is.
I totally get the feeling, and that's why i keep myself away from trying to compete, I know how week I am to it, and doesn't matter how good you are, there's always someone better out there.
@@RewriteKuma Yeah, having competition as the main drive is just gonna bring that about.
Congrats on getting this far with getting people to enjoy bears btw. Came across your stuff during MN rerun and great to see how things have gone since then.
I experimented with defender knights out of curiosity, not my cup of tea, I'll just keep on throwing my favorite operators at whatever HG comes up with next.
You tried defenders bc your fav is one of them, Wolly? Now I'm curious
@@RewriteKuma Hoshiguma. Perhaps one day, HG will remember she exists 🙏
@@wollyram6248 All the luck to you and your big Oni
Try lvl 1 gaming with the ops you havent leveled up yet, you wont reach later stages on events but its kinda funny to use our brains again on the first two or three stages of an event.
Also, you can use ops you want but dont have that much reasons to lvl up and it adds on the feeling of something new.
@@jonnevitu4979 Nice advice! A small brain alternative is to just farm 1-7 or other "easier" farming stages with the level 1 operators one hasn't worked on at all. As you say, it kind of feels like IS where the player has to adapt to these new units and win with them
I was thinking about a niche I want to play to switch things around, and you know where I got the answer? My FGO account lmao. I realized I raised and used a lot of welfares there. Coming back to my AK account, I did almost the same with free ops from any sources and I do like using them. So, after some thinking, I decided to play "freeknights".
That being said, I'm not the most committed nicheknights player, so I like to go back and not do freeknights at times lol. Free ops in arknights are a lot ( *_a lot_* ) so raising them takes time. A long, long, time.
_I like Arknights but man, the devs really like to pump out free operators while keeping the resource management theme in check now, don't they?_
Indeed, we have a billion welfares. But commitment is also something that is ok to not have. You've seen how much i do with bears, but I don't do anything else with them 😂Playing every stage in the game would be so weird i can't even imagine myself doing it.
@@RewriteKuma Yeah. There are gacha ops that I'd like to get and raise as well, so to me, alternating between the two is the best way to play. Not too restricting but still fun.
Still, I wish freeknights get a healing defender and a hexer someday.
i totally agree, i also want to add that it can be very costly ressources wise to raise a lot of characters that you don't like that much just to build your niche, that's why i feel it's important to build only what you like to not have regrets later
Welp, that makes me a Guidenights then
Unless you are me: Limitedknights
Me who's been trying to play every stage with the least amount of op as much as possible(unless im feeling lazy)(no im not going to use Ling duh): "im not gonna try this lol"
Been playing waifunight ever since I played this game, will quit the game if I ever raise or use male ops for combat... Except for ansel who I didnt know he was a trap... 😭
i was just happy when i beat CC R18 once With Cunnyknights. just because why not.
Enlightenment cannot be forced onto others it must be found by oneself. If you force people to play nicheknights they might play nicheknights but they will never truly love it the same way someone who had not been forced into it may love it. TLDR just let people play the game the way they enjoy playing the game.
As a semi-braindead dokutah who almost always uses meta operator, my favorite has got to be LoreKnights with additional helps from ops that are lore friendly to the current story.
I like those kinds of squad a lot, it's just scary how expensive in mats they can become if you're doing it every event.
my niche is leveling up everybody and being underleveled for sss :)
The biggest reason I'd see myself doing nicheknights would go something along the lines of, "I've spent all my resources to raise all these operators and god damn it, I should use them!"
yt: shows me first a video, why you should play Nicheknights
also yt: suggest after that video, why you shouldn't play Nicheknights
AH yes, outstanding move RUclips
so about me: I was in a semi state of nicheknight
I'm a bit of a "new" one, started for like 2-3 years or so, but only got active last year.
In the time I started to enjoy a few certain operators, specially blemishine, skadi, project red and then cantabile
after some time, I focused on the sleep knights, as it looks interested and it involved my fav horsegirl and first e2 operator, but sadly I struggled a bit to get the whole squad
right now I only have blemi, erato and Iris, so missing sora and kafka
I thought to go for liberi, as I have a few operators who would fit into it and would be interesting to try
but right now: It's sleep knight with fav operator filled up (my squad usual contains: cantabile and texas, la pluma and skadi, blemishine, skyfire and iris, erato and meteor/meteorite,
shining, Silence the Paradigmatic and project red at the end)
Lmao my niche is hav gladia n spectre alter on every team known to man. If i ever need a defender to tnk spectre is now a defender. If j need a good ranged guard gladia is now a guard lol das how j be playin
It is time to start playing landmine knights too bad Frost didn't drop despite 3 ash drops.
