His father was a druid and a dragonlord, his mother was just a farmer girl. His fathers powers pased on to merlin. But merlin was naturnally more gifted than his father. Merlin was also born with magic. So Merlin is a dragonwarlock
Meaning that he is a druid and a wizard and he also has the soul of a dragon

As with any old fictional character, there are more than one version of his origin, the most widely known are
1- Merlin is begotten by an incubus demon on a daughter of the King of Dyfed. According to ''Le Morte D'Arthur'' by Sir Thomas Malory
2- Merlin is the son of the Devil himself and a virgin woman, and he's supposed to become the antichrist. According to ''The History of the Kings of Britain'' by Geoffrey Monmouth
3- This one is how his origin changes over the years. His father sometimes is just a random demon. His mother sometimes is a nun, sometimes another princess, other times just a country girl, but she's almost always a virgin
btdubs, there's no old source that indicates he's somehow ''Dragonborn'', this other dude answering you is just using the BBC series as the main source, which's valid since is a fictional character anyway, but he shouldn't attack the other guy over such futility

Merlin (real name Myrddin) was actually a Welsh Celtic tribal, who as a boy; prophesized that the Saxons would take the isles, he also prophesized that the Welsh would eventually kick them out and reclaim what was rightfully theirs. The second part has yet to happen. The red dragon vs white dragon you mentioned is this reference. However the Red dragon wasn't killed, he was beaten down. The 'king' was disappointed that the red dragon lost and was going to put merlin to death. Merlin told him to wait. The red dragon eventually overpowered the white. Merlin was then spared.
Fun fact: the Arthurian myths predates Christianity arriving to the isles. Geoffrey of Monmouth wrote down the legends and converted them into something 'suitable' for Christians to enjoy. For example the Holy Grail mentioned in the sagas was actually the Cauldron of Annwn. The brew within grants eternal life. Hellhounds mentioned in Christianity were originally the Cwn Annwn. The white dogs of Arawn whom ferry the souls of the dead to Annwn on the autumn equinox. Early Christians really didn't like the Brythonic Celts and they tried their best to eradicate all traces of their culture. It's also why one of the devil's forms is a red dragon.

@@carlthomaswilliamsjr.2995 My guess is at latest 300 BCE. But based on the fact Excalibur turned the lake 'green' when it was cast back, it could be even earlier as that might indicate a copper reaction. Which could place it during the bronze age. Which could mean the stories are over 3000 years old.

Fun fact: in one version of the story, Merlin attempts to seduce a woman named Niviane, who is not interested because he is the son of the devil and because he was considerably older than her. That’s not exactly mindblowing, but the list of his magical accomplishments is so small that it would have been okay to mention it to pad out the run time.

The Devil of the bible could knock 1/3rd of the stars down from the sky in his form as The Great Dragon. This makes him at absolute minimum multi solar system level. Though he could be scaled much higher this is the bare minimum. Literally Who likely won’t make a Satan video since christians can be really hard core (i should know i am one).

Strictly speaking, the biblical devil is not shown to be physically powerful. There are a few inferences we can make but nothing in the Bible makes him out to be too overpowered.
-From the term "serpent" (heb. nachash) used in Genesis 3 the devil is most likely a saraph. The term saraph can either be a noun (I think it's an Egyptian loan word but I'm not 100% on that) in which case it means "serpent", but it can also be the verb to burn. The most likely interpretation is that saraph just means serpent but the seraphim of Isaiah 6 still access the furnarce so both interpretations can hold. From this we can conclude the biblical devil is a winged serpent that can manipulate fire.
-The "satan" figure in Job 1:6 is not the devil, for reasons I don't understand translators insist on ignoring the definite article which designates the term as an improper noun. Technicalities aside, the satan of Job 1 "roams the earth" so it can be assumed they are at least fast enough to cover the earth in a reasonable time frame. Using the radius of earth at 6500km and assuming he can go around the earth in a day this suggests a conservative estimate of 2000km/hr. While this is not the biblical devil we can probably assume a throne guardian is of higher rank than that guy so we can assume he's around that fast.
-The book of Enoch isn't part of the Bible but rather a commentary that expounds upon Genesis 6:1-4, if taken as reliable then 200 angels came and had offspring with human women. It is generally believed that either Azazel or Shemenhaza is the devil. Azazel because he is the demon that received the sinful goat in Leviticus 16, while Shemenhaza because he is the chief of the rebellious angels. From their offspring, the Nephilim giants and the Akkadian myth of the Apkalu which makes them 2/3 divine and only 1/3 human we can draw some conclusions. The Masoretic text describes Goliath at around 9'4" (based on Qumran and the Septuagint that's actually wrong but let's try to max out the divine idiot). Given that the average Israelite was 5' tall this means that 2/3 divine makes you 1.88 times bigger and doing some simple multiplication I got that a fully divine being would be about triple the normal size of the time, so about 15 tall with all the power scaling upward that implies. If one really wants to one can argue that the angels traveled from the nonphysical spiritual realm into the physical and therefore traversed all of the universe to do it in mere moments I reject that since the Bible doesn't have the spirit realm far away but you can jack up his power if you so choose.
The gods in the Bible, at least in so far as I can tell are not depicted with much in terms of raw power. That is not to say that they aren't, but only that their feats are rarely described. The one power the devil does seem to have is cunning. Despite his inability to win in the end he will regardless try to force all of us into a bad place. Aside from that, at least in terms of raw power, we don't see much.

The Devil, Lucifer, Satan, God's most powerful angel at the start of creation. He had the ability to convince other angels to rebel against their creator because he saw serving humans as beneath him. So high charisma and enough divine and physical power to attempt to overthrow God. Lucifer falls and was stripped of his divinity, but now was able to gain control over the prison that is Hell, making it his domain. He can conjure demons onto Earth, tempt mortals, but only by permission from God in the form of a bet (very specific situation when this happens and is argued the Satan in this isn't our devil but a ranking of angel that our Lucifer has also taken since he loves to deceive so much, as Satan is also used in Revelation referring to a Dragon, who is implied to be our Lucifer), and is literally the Deadly Sin of Pride, one of the most powerful, but was also the cause for his fall to begin with. All Merlin's magic is literally divine in origin, thus is approved by God himself, post baptism, since he aids humans as an advisor thanks to his foresight that shows a destiny that not even God is able to change if Revelation is to prove, instead of forcing them to do bad as the devil intended.

Dude all of this is wrong we’re did you get this. All that was writing by the church of that time that wanted to make Merlin seem bad. First of it was a time when most of the land a people were Celtic and believed in magic and the supernatural. Secondly Merlin’s father wasn’t the devil but a incubus the male version of a succubus a sex demon. Making Merlin a Cambion which is the child of a human and succubus/incubus and are known to be extremely powerful. Thirdly although I may be inaccurate with this part, after the dragons, he was then trained by the druids who were actually said to be the most powerful wizards in all of history and mythology, and in time even became their king, but I will get back on that later. And as for the not impressive powers part your also wrong because I will list three incredible things he has can do
    1. He can shape-shift into any person or creature he desires
    2. He’s so skilled with telekinesis and he was able to lift a massive bolder across the sea, to him
3.In his first battle with Arthur he shot massive flames out of his hands at the enemy like a massive flamethrower.
And going back to the Druid king. Merlin wasn’t even his real name. “The Merlin” is actually the name for the king of the druids and the name for the queen of the druids is “The Lady of the Lake”.

Albion is the old Celtic name for the British isles, so no.
Perhaps the white dragon is the same one which St George killed, known for having killed the last dragon

from i’m little knowledge of Hinduism, i’ve heard there’s some transcendental concepts and abstract ideas that could make shiva and other hindu gods like outerversal.

The power scaling of the Bible:
    1) God. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (incomprehensible in essence, beyond infinite dif, nothing else comes close.)
Hymns of the Church say that Christ moving causes the entire universe to rumble as the Father made the universe through Him.
    2) Theotokos (the finest and most glorious of Gods creations. She contained the uncontainable One in her womb.)
    3) Archangels Michael and Gabriel who threw Satan out of heaven by throwing a mountain at him (and Michael will throw Satan along with the beast and false prophet into hell at the end of the world.) they are on our iconostasis for a reason
    4) Satan who was the anointed cherub and most beautiful angel that held the glory of God but coveted for himself and wanted to exalt himself above God. Managed to convince a 3rd of all angels to revolt.
