Morgan is a great kid. And she wants to play professionally, so I think she will work her tail off.
I am curious to see how she looks off ball at UConn. Because what I have seen in high school is almost exclusively point guard play. 🤔

I'd like to see Ziebell & Shade on the corners with their sharpshooting abilities. I've heard it said that Ziebell is deadlier than Shade shooting 3's. After Nika moves on, all they have to do is find a point guard to replace her. Someone that is in control all the time. Not an out of control KK. Maybe they can get the two "big girls", Stefanie Dolson & Kara Wolters to teach post moves to the Irish girl Gandy Malou Mamel. Raw talent but she wants to learn....🏀..

Heh, K.K. isn't out of control. Frosh just have to adjust to the college game, and she's been doing that really well.

@@arthur-ri4zo I actually think sophomore KK will be better than senior Nika …she can score or create + QUICK on defense

    • @arthur-ri4zo
      @arthur-ri4zo 8 месяцев назад +1

@@sportgeek2028 Nika isn't a big scorer because Geno wants everything going thru Paige and Edwards. When called upon, Nika had the highest shooting % for 3's last year on the team for the starters. She was also the Big East Defensive Player of the year for the last two years while half the team was getting splinters on their bums while injured. Nika has carried this team on her back for the prior two years. This year Paige is back and they added an out of control KK. They will finish the season with the exact same record as last year. During the regular season before the tournament games. Last year UCONN was 26-5. This year they are also 26-5 before the tournaments start. I guess ball hog Paige and KK made no difference to this team. 🏀
If you don't believe me look up the stats on the UCONN page. Last year Geno was asking his players to step up and shoot 3's. The only one to take this challenge was Nika. It will show that Nika was the only UCONN that had the 🏀's to shoot 3's. Also had the highest shooting % among the starters last year. Along with her lock down D. KK plays out of control. If she doesn't learn to slow down she'll be a footnote in UCONN's history.
It doesn't help when Edwards only shoots 15 footers or hides in the paint. That doesn't do anything to spread the D. As a matter of fact. While most of Edwards shots are in the paint. She misses 25% of her paint shots clanging off the bottom of the rim.. (pathetic)

Plays a lot like Caitlin Clark. She could have been Iowa’s next huge star. Hawk nation would have cherished her just like we do Caitlin. Lots of great players go to UConn, but it’s harder for one to stand out there. Not to mention many players are suffering injury’s there too. I’ll be following her to see where her basketball career takes her.

      She’s nothing like Clark.
She rarely shoots 3s. She slashes to the basket and takes jumpers.

What about star player Liz Kitley, she just tore her ACL at West Virginia.
You’re going to blame West Virginia for that too?
      Injuries happen all over America.
UConn is a better basketball school, and who wants to live in Iowa anyway.

aw, dang, would've been cool if she committed to my Oregon Ducks since Sabrina Ionescu played for my team (Oregon Ducks)...maybe Sabrina can give us some much needed help with recruiting out there. #HelpUsSabrina

The 2024-2025 season will be Geno's last year his contract ends after next year, and he'll be 70 years old on the 23rd of this month. It's time to bring in a new perspective, of course anyone who takes that job will be under pressure from the fan base from the start. Connecticut doesn't have any pro teams so the residents live and die on the success of UConn. Lastly, I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but these last few years of injuries that have plagued the team have taken a toll on him, it's evident .

You may be right about Geno. If he retires next year, CD will almost certainly succeed him, so I don't expect that much change in perspective. Dailey has been sitting beside Geno since 1988 - 36 years. Only way she DOESN'T get the job is if she retires with him - which could happen since she will be 65 this year.
But yeah -- we take college hoops pretty seriously here in CT, so the pressure is enormous. We do have the Sun in the WNBA, but your point is valid -- we have no teams in MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL so UCONN (the men and the women) is our team.
