... And I agree, I miss John Merryman and Shannon Lucas' drumming. Been waiting forever for a new Cephalic album but I won't give up. Is a bummer that Merryman isn't doing Cephalic anymore but Patrice Hamelin or Danny Walker are both highly qualified for their stuff.

2:41:00 this was a cool topic. I've always been skeptical of the abilities of many extreme metal guitar players, in their ability to accurately and cleanly execute every 16th note of their string-skipping 16th notes riffs. They're also probably playing 14th notes lol.
There is a reason why most of their playthroughs are done sitting down in a studio, playing to studio tracks. Point me to one modern day 250bpm extreme metal guitar player who had the balls to post a live show soundboard recording performance. To this day, I feel like Entangled in Chaos is still the benchmark.
Also - I hope I am wrong... I love the electric guitar and would rather be envious than disappointed 😊
Or maybe I hope I'm right.. and would rather feel relief haha
