    In this video join me (and Joli) for a super long plant chores video! I imported some plants recently and they've not all acclimated as planned, so some major plant rehabilitation is in order. There have been lots of plant to do's recently - repotting, watering, dusting, pruning, propagating, repotting, potting up and soooo much more. My plant chores have been getting on top slightly recently and I've been feeling a bit burnt out and overwhelmed by all my plant care. I talk about plant burnout in this video, and some of the things I do to stay motivated when it comes to caring for my houseplants. Thank you to everyone who asked questions, and I really hope you enjoy the video!

    LOL, guess who got a sticky trap stuck on a plant today 🤔😂 Regarding the Peperomias that are like your Ice Queen, I have found that mine prefer to be bottom watered every 4-5 days draining any excess they haven't taken up. Also mine seem to be happiest just outside the range of my growlights, although I have to turn them regularly to keep them sort of upright. That's just my experience with trying to keep them happy. I hope Ross likes his present 😉

    Don’t worry about throwing them out. There’s no reason to keep something around that takes away your “energy of the plants”. No plans for us I am just enjoying my time off watching Plant videos and buying plants! 🪴
    I have read that we should “shower” our plants first when pests are present and then treat the soil. I dread the day I have to do it. Good luck!

    Hi Claire! Just one tip : instead of crocodile pins, you could use U pins that are used to hold buns into place (they're sold at any drugstores next to bobby pins). They're larger at the top so they are not risking to harm the plant and they can be bent open super easily, and they plant into the soil super smoothly ! 🌱🌱

    Those little sires bottles are also great when watering terrariums. Sprays go on the prescription which can create rot, so better for it.

    Claire, I love doing my plant chores with you! It is so hot here in Australia at the moment so it’s nice to have someone to keep me motivated and company. Could you potentially please do a “2024 plant wish list” video at some point? I have been getting mine together and would be interested to hear yours ❤

    I also keep all the cuttings and end up with a lot of baby plants :D
    I go to a very small plant shop once a month and there are a few that also cone regular and they are always surprised that I have so much to bring each time.
    If you have problems securing a vine on top of the soil or even a baby plant that wants to tip over, I found tape very useful. I just put a peace of clear tape across the surface and tape it down on both sides of the nursery pot. I also used tape in the same way to make a little handle for one of my tiny pot the other day, so that I can get it out of the cover pot easier.

    I did do plant chores with you. The trouble is, I ended up downstairs to do some of them. 😆 But I could still hear you slightly while I was down there. LOL. I finally found the aglaonema I have been wanting. It is like the homalomena selby without the trouble. :)

    • @jmacd98
      @jmacd98 7 месяцев назад

      Is that plant not Adelonema Wallisi? It’s related to homalomena. Easy care, grows well but try not let it dry out completely as it droops badly which stresses the plant.

I know you use semi hydro for a lot of plants but is there any you would recommend not to do is semi hydro? Do succulents do well in semi hydro?

    hi love your videos, i always lean so much :)
    i struggle with soil gnats in my moss poles and eventually stopped using them. i know my plants are not living to the fullest without a moss pole-any thoughts or suggestions on how to avoid the gnat problem? i have just started using nematodes in the last two months for my plants.
    thank you so much!

    My pepperomia frost did the same thing as your pepperomia. It went downhill fast! I am so sad about it because it's my favorite plant. 😢 Any ideas why? Mine has a grow light and I am careful to not over-water. Could it be from having to use the heating in the house?
