Like maybe they get the helmet back and spare Rowan's shop. Or maybe they don't get sent to the Dead Frost.
33:05 Bodger is the best person to go up to negotiate peaceful since he's the only one that speaks giant. Bodger: Yea sure, I'll settle this peaceful. You can trust me. Rowan: I want to kill these two because my hammer will get more powerful.
I like how Bob's story began with him being unconscious and, somehow, him being unconscious through events is now like his "life calling". I think hanging on to dear life so many times is worth at least some constitution bonus from the DM or something xD as if he grew a somewhat thicker skin from all the concussions
Bob's Fortitude: If damage reduces Bob to 0 hit points, he must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5+the damage taken. On a success, Bob drops to 1 hit point instead.
That casual "Yeah they're over there" at 29:20 was so perfect. You guys should help Rob out a bit more though with keeping track of things, write things down and stuff because I feel like there's a bunch of stuff being missed because Rob just has to keep too much in mind by himself.
When Rowan said he's motivated to kill the two giants, I remember his passive skill thingy where if he kill a giant and absorb a part of the giant, he'll get stronger, so diplomacy or war crimes is a win win for them
Bob flying, hitting a boulder, flying again, getting hit again, instantly made me think about the Simpsons gag where Sideshow Bob keeps walking into rakes.
Kettlesteam is a Badass! She is my favorite side character! I also love how Bodger begrudgingly acknowledges her and she's just like, "seriously? I just got rid of a threat, at least temporarily, causing the other one to run off then when the first one came back he was so disoriented that he ran scared too. Okay, so he's just going to be like this... I just can't with this guy." 😆😆😆
It's probably a slightly smaller audience that would watch Rob playing with himself, but I'm sure it'd make a few people happy. Also, I can't believe Bodger finally did it.
Could you imagine Robert being in front of a camera and doing a D&D game all by himself? With maybe some inputs from a live-chat. Heh! Who the hell would watch that? Next thing you gonna tell me people would pay to watch Robert just reading D&D books and manuals.
@@wjzav1971 I don't know if you meant it in a joking tone, but that already exists, in case you didn't know. The first one is called Twitch Tales. Take a look at Rob's RUclips page. The second one is his "Robert Reads" streams.
First of all, the green screen with Bob shushing them for group stealth was immensely satisfying, wonderful job there. I'm not familiar with how the warlock + patron powers thing works; can Bob basically do all the same things Kettlesteam can, he just doesn't know it? That whole banish thing was pretty badass, even if it's only temporary, it's gotta scare the sh*t out of whomever it gets. Also props to Lorquin on more amazing captions. *uninspired groans* really got me.
I'm sure he could use it, its only a 4th level spell which warlocks gain access to at level 7, but the party is like 7th level now and Bob didn't multiclass until like level 2 or 3.
If I remember correctly, in 5th edition, there were three branches of Warlocks to choose a patron from. I used to play one that could steal souls from enemies killed and eat them to gain temps or revive them as meat shields to attack your enemies. The latter was a higher level spell whereas the eating was a bonus action.
Lol, Bodger was so inspiring this episode I feel like someone should finally tell Rowan he should just make like an hour of 10min speeches in Bodger outfit on a shooting day alone and stealthily use the scripts on shooting days for D&D then release unused ones for special patreon or something for a rainy day.
He went from half joke speeches that were brilliant, to an actual motivational speech, very unexpected, Rowan is such a great actor, I didn't realize it until I saw Isolation games, I thought he was just being a dumbass here for no reason at times, but it's all in character for Bodger.
Personally I think the she had a bit of DM inside knowledge on that fight, Kettlesteam hasn't shown anywhere near this much initiative as we've seen here. It's almost like someone wanted to show what she could do, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
After binge watching the whole campaign now having to wait for each episode sucks. Still, love this series, started watching because I enjoyed VLDL but ended up loving it because of Rob's storytelling. He's great!
Bob in a new game, if they ever finish this, needs to be a tank. I’m sure he’ll have a natural passive taunt that Aggro’s enemies within a certain distance.
"Good people with good intentions doing good things" - yes, it was a good (and very sad) joke, though the new Bodger's speech definitely is more inspiring. :) And finally it's Kettlesteam's time to shine, I'm so proud of her and happy for her (but a bit worried that she may get hurt badly in the next episode, hope she survives). Also respect for BOB for giving her a thankful hug.
Dayum KettleSteam!!! That was perfection. This episode had me cackling the whole time. Thanks guys! And Bodger being the only one to speak giant and the one with the most to gain from killing said giants is likely going to be gold next episode. Bodger in giant, “and that’s where I am going to shove this hammer”. Bodger in common to the rest of the party who understands nothing “well guys, I said please”
@15:45, Bodger: "I just wanted to say that you have really proven yourself, and I'm proud of you." Kettlesteam [in Bodger's voice]: "'Ey Bodger, c'm'ere, I wunt to show you sumthin'! Did I ever show you this?" [Extends middle finger]
Only stumbled onto this channel in the last week and a bit. Did I honestly just watch the 50+ hours of some guys playing D&D, at least Eleventy million episodes of NPC man and Bored Video game shop workers? Jeeebus. Awesome content guys, You have won D&D and RUclips.
Great video!!! Loved it when Kettlesteam played the party. Banished the giant, got them to stick around long enough to praise her, and then they all moved on before the giant bamfed back a minute later. Awesome!!! Love the content!!!
I guess from the previews for the next episode that negotiations have broken down. Since they are at the bottom of the valley, Adam could cast like magic missiles on the top edge of the valley and cause a rockslide into them. See how they like the taste of their own medicine.
Love how often they forget their abilities and equipment. “We need somewhere to sleep” Alan looks at magic rope…nope that won’t help (apart from the hidden room at the end)
also not advisable with Baradoon in tow Placing a bag of holding inside an extradimensional space created by a handy haversack, portable hole or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened.
That wasn't plot armor or a Deus ex machina. There was an airship crew member there specifically to prevent a PC *or* an NPC from falling out of the airship. It was announced ahead of time and it makes narrative sense that the ship would pay to have a flying crewman for that type of situation
@@rayzerot Yeah, I remember that "behind the screen" where Rob explained that the mechanic was there in case he needed to pad for time with a pirate attack, just to give a little bit of a safety measure in such an event, but he ended up not needing that combat encounter _because_ someone decided to put the safety net he created _for_ such encounter to the test! Ironic.
Was watching this while outside smoking, and had a bat squeak squeaking around me while batbob was squeak squeaking his way to find the giants. Just perfect timing
Really expected Stealthy Bob to say "will you too shut the fuck up, we're supposed to being stealthy" rather than just "shhhh". Great entertainment as always guys!!
Oh goodness, watching Adam not use the opportunity that Rob basically threw in his face to use his major image to threaten the giants into not attacking or they'll be banished forever. Oh well, now maybe Bodger will get his chance to upgrade his hammer.
the mental image of bodger just running back and forth across the map is great also kettlesteam earning everyone's respect and then immediately forgotten
I'm convinced that the hag is still going to try to kill them when they get back. She's all about the tragic endings. It would be quite tragic if the group of heroes had to overcome the enormous challenge of finding and killing two giants just to be killed after their triumph. Bonus points if she killed the troupe as well.
I feel like they had a huge advantage against Endelyn by having that comedy mask with them, but since they resorted to talking, its been rendered useless :P P.S. I think that Rob wanted them to investigate the comedy mask when he asked what they were doing in the cave for 45 minutes :D Edit: Rob wanted him to check the dolls (of the people who made deals with Skabatha), but maybe if they check with the mask now, they will get its lore at least
@@wuschu5563 the I will figure you out mask is the comedy mask. When the group first came to Endelyns place, they saw a Frame or something on the wall with tragedy mask on one side and the other mask was missing, that was the comedy mask they got back then, and I believe they could have used it somehow to gain advantage over Endelyns if they chose to fight her or at least get its lore of they investigated it now in this context

And a proper writer to put it in covers. Maybe under a fakename Shake-Spear.
This story would beat Dragonlance 😆
33:05 Bodger is the best person to go up to negotiate peaceful since he's the only one that speaks giant.
Bodger: Yea sure, I'll settle this peaceful. You can trust me.
Rowan: I want to kill these two because my hammer will get more powerful.
I like how Bob's story began with him being unconscious and, somehow, him being unconscious through events is now like his "life calling". I think hanging on to dear life so many times is worth at least some constitution bonus from the DM or something xD as if he grew a somewhat thicker skin from all the concussions
he gains some proficiency or bonus on death saving throws
this would actually be like a great homebrew feat for Ben to consider taking, love the idea
I bet he was passed out at the beginning of the story because some goblin had punched him in the face.....
Bob's Fortitude: If damage reduces Bob to 0 hit points, he must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5+the damage taken. On a success, Bob drops to 1 hit point instead.
That's just Strength of the Grave man.
Yeeeeeeerrr
I've been so sick this week but this will make me feel better. Laughter is the best medicine
Rest up and stay hydrated. Hope you fell well soon.
The greenscreens are super on point in this episode! My favorite is the stealth check lol
Kettlesteam is a Badass!
She is my favorite side character!
I also love how Bodger begrudgingly acknowledges her
and she's just like, "seriously? I just got rid of a threat, at least temporarily, causing the other one to run off then when the first one came back he was so disoriented that he ran scared too. Okay, so he's just going to be like this... I just can't with this guy."
😆😆😆
It's probably a slightly smaller audience that would watch Rob playing with himself, but I'm sure it'd make a few people happy. Also, I can't believe Bodger finally did it.
Maybe I should try find that niche...
@@RobertHartleyGM I mean, there's an audience for everything on OnlyFans if you wanna play with yourself. 😂
@@MissGothicksoul That was a cute interaction and I'm here for it. Thank you both.
He's a lower level warlock and of a different subclass. He can do similar things after leveling up a bit, but not exactly the same.
We do absolutely need you to make a movie of the whole story :D , it would be huge!!! awesome work love everyone in the team
kettlesteam went from blackmailing the group to wanting to prove herself
Personally I think the she had a bit of DM inside knowledge on that fight, Kettlesteam hasn't shown anywhere near this much initiative as we've seen here. It's almost like someone wanted to show what she could do, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
@@DaedalusRaistlin "... I can't quite put my finger on it." That usually costs extra.
Only on special occasions
@@DaedalusRaistlin Well the group did kind of need a savoir just then.
Watching the DM use a giant bird to call Bodger a coward was GOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLDEEEEEEEEENNNNN.
3:28 into the episode, and the subtitles already have me grinning 😁
(I too often play the "*table drums of indecision*")
Our team loves the drums on indecision
@@VivaLaDirtLeagueDnD who doesn't
After binge watching the whole campaign now having to wait for each episode sucks.
Still, love this series, started watching because I enjoyed VLDL but ended up loving it because of Rob's storytelling. He's great!
"Table Drums of Indecision" is my new metal band name
Ben doing the stealth skit is much like Sam Neil in Merlin, when he enters the great hall and magically shushes the nobles.
Bodger making sense. The world has gone mad.
Bob in a new game, if they ever finish this, needs to be a tank. I’m sure he’ll have a natural passive taunt that Aggro’s enemies within a certain distance.
It will be the reverse of the VanLier Dice Curse. Instead of Ben rolling badly, his opponents will have amazing rolls against him and constantly crit
Bob, the gnome barbarian :)
Would’ve been nice to have a HEALER👀
@@wjzav1971 I wonder what would happen if he played system other than D&D, one of those where low rolls are the good ones 🤔
Bob’s brother Nob, the full plate, shield carrying, defense style fighter.
15:25
Y'know Kettlesteam, I wanted to tell you something.
This hammer...
Rob the saint subtly saving the whole party while making them feel like they don't have plot armor, the narrow path a good DM walks.
"Let me SHOW you why this hammer is rightfully mine!" /bodges
and then he Bodged, and all hell broke loose.
@15:45,
Bodger:
"I just wanted to say that you have really proven yourself, and I'm proud of you."
Kettlesteam [in Bodger's voice]:
"'Ey Bodger, c'm'ere, I wunt to show you sumthin'!
Waiting a week for these is nearly impossible. VLDL!!!
Is it Thursday yet?
Is it Thursday now??
Great video!!! Loved it when Kettlesteam played the party. Banished the giant, got them to stick around long enough to praise her, and then they all moved on before the giant bamfed back a minute later. Awesome!!! Love the content!!!
I have to say, as someone who's non-english speaker, the subtitles are GREAT.
Thanks for that!
Bodger and kettlesteams relationship is gold
Do you work with them?

Omg I love that the giants are named Bygg and Tawl
Ohhh, I get it now. Nice!
I guess from the previews for the next episode that negotiations have broken down. Since they are at the bottom of the valley, Adam could cast like magic missiles on the top edge of the valley and cause a rockslide into them. See how they like the taste of their own medicine.
Watch this space
I love how they told kettlesteam to stop and its dangerous and it clips back to Greg with his bucket ready 🤣
Bodger finally changing his speech was actually the highlight of my week

Love how often they forget their abilities and equipment. “We need somewhere to sleep” Alan looks at magic rope…nope that won’t help (apart from the hidden room at the end)

@@shivam7156 Correct
also not advisable with Baradoon in tow
Placing a bag of holding inside an extradimensional space created by a handy haversack, portable hole or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened.
@@pbrady999 Now, the question is, do you use it on Bodger's Hammer so he'll shut up, or on Bodger himself? jk
Rowans expresion after kettle steam banished the gigant 😆
I'm really looking forward to discussing this episode with Robert :D
Monday morning (NZ time) Behind the Screen stream, bebey!
Next time Bodger jumps out of an airship, mid-flight, please do not save him.
better: jump with him.
I feel like Rob was personally offended by the hatred of Kettlesteam and had something to prove this fight 😂
the mental image of bodger just running back and forth across the map is great
also kettlesteam earning everyone's respect and then immediately forgotten
I'm convinced that the hag is still going to try to kill them when they get back. She's all about the tragic endings. It would be quite tragic if the group of heroes had to overcome the enormous challenge of finding and killing two giants just to be killed after their triumph. Bonus points if she killed the troupe as well.
I figure, since they won’t be back before the next performance (per the agreement), she renege on the agreement.
I feel like they had a huge advantage against Endelyn by having that comedy mask with them, but since they resorted to talking, its been rendered useless :P
P.S. I think that Rob wanted them to investigate the comedy mask when he asked what they were doing in the cave for 45 minutes :D
Edit: Rob wanted him to check the dolls (of the people who made deals with Skabatha), but maybe if they check with the mask now, they will get its lore at least
