Damn this was hard to watch. The son of Richard Pryor getting booed off stage. Well hopefully this will be a valuable learning experience for him. Dont go out there trying to 100% mimic your dad. Be your own man, and be funny.
that's why people never take there families place in stuff. like you don't see maya Rudolph replacing her mother mini ripperton in the music world. she did the right thing an became a comedian instead.
Every comedian has bombed at some point, but I think the problem is that he's doing a bad impression of his dad. He needs to step back and find his own identity, rework his material, and stand on his own. We may miss our idols, but we will never stand for someone else banking their career on a straight imitation.
In that last little clip at the end, I felt he was naive enough to believe he was going to get a standing ovation just because of his father, and it was a hard truth to swallow that he was booed and had a father so great. His comedy has basically got to be the opposite of Richard Pryor.
Does he even have material? He came on with a homosexual Donald Trump joke looking like, talking like and directly referencing his father. Seems to me some people thought he was funny when he was telling private jokes, but that was likely due to memories of his father rather than him actually being funny.
I didn't think Steve Harvey could mess up that bad as to say "Let him ride," just because Richard Pryor is his daddy. If he ain't funny, don't reward that, especially in front of one of the toughest rooms in comedy.
If he went out there and told some stories about his father and put a funny spin on them he'd have been cool. Or stuff about what it's like to be the child of a celebrity. Or stuff about famous people he's met. But he went for the low-hanging fruit of Trump jokes. And once people had heard a million times too. Oh and fucking shame on the people on that show saying he should be given a free pass because his father was famous.
Right they booed lauryn hill as a child and look how awesome she is a true legend so some times the crowd can be wrong but on this night they were absolutely right
i was in new york 12 years ago and went to a comedy show where richard pryer's daughter did a gig. Nobody laughed at her jokes. She cut her set short and apologized saying she just wanted to do it for her father.
I graduated high school with Mason. He’s a good guy that deserves success, but he is obviously trying to mimic a legend here. Mason, I have tremendous respect for you playing to such a big crowd. I’ve seen your antics in the classroom; you are capable of better comedy that doesn’t follow in your father’s footsteps. Go back to the drawing board and come back swinging hard!
Had he not been Richard Pryor's son, he would not have been brought back. He wasn't funny and started on a bad foot that leaked into his set. He's not good, period.
What pisses me off is that, even after bombing, Steve Harvey had to come out and talk to the audience like the teacher in a classroom lecturing the students for making fun of the "special" kid. I'm not sure if anyone else has gotten a second chance after bombing that bad but take the loss and learn from it and move on
It is tragic to watch, so I don't blame you. I just treated it like a bandage, and did it quick, cause a slow, constant pain is so much worse. Here's hoping he improves, cause he can pretty much only go up from here. I hope.
I have a story related to Richard Pryor, when my dad came here at the 80s, he worked at the Mann Chinese theater, and during those times, he worked making food in the concession stand. From all the stories he could've said like seeing Harrison ford in a premiere of Indiana jones, roger Moore in for your eyes only or even Star Wars, which he liked, the only memory he remembers and this was before I was born, was he was working at the concession stand, and saw an old Richard Pryor walking with his son, and asking him how the movie was, my dad didn't know him at the time since he came from a world where there wasnt much entertainment, so his coworker said it to him thats Richard Pryor I don't know why that memory stuck out, but later in life my dad loved Richard Pryor work and the memory was very emotional, since that was the last time my dad saw him, since he passed away soon later, I feel bad for his son, but I agree that you should just be yourself. Thank god he didn't make a joke about Marlon Brando and Richard Pryor.
14:30 Can't argue with the skills of the late Charlie Murphy; he was an awesome storyteller. It turns out, though, his early stand-up was TERRIBLE. His first routines were as bad as Mason Pryor's.
I am exactly like Korey. I can't bear to watch someone getting embarrassed like this. I even have to skip some parts in this video. On other hand that 12:00 was some gold comedy material :)
He obviously took advantage of the fact that his dad was a very well renowned comedian and wanted to replicate his style. If Pryor’s son has ANY comedic talent, he should find his own style and not rely so much on his dad to get laughs. It just comes off as forced.
I didn’t think I could cringe so hard looking at something. I hope this guy can get his shit together because I barely survived watching these short clips!
That's steve harvey's son wearing a defective richard prior mask. His dad didn't teach him anything, more of how richard was really a bad father or how spoiled his son came off when he got booed. He needs to do some warming up at some smaller gigs and write some better stuff. At least he isn't carlos mencia and stealing jokes.
+ The Rickest Rick Ha Ha LMFAO 😅😅😅 "Steve Harvey's son wearing a defective Richard Pryor mask" lol lol that line is seriously underrated you got me rolling bro
They do edit these to make anybody who bombs look like even more of a disaster. They almost certainly added most of those reaction shots and boos in post.
Yo! I don’t know how I stumbled to your channel! Lol….but I’m glad as s*** that I did! You guys are hilarious!…..I busted a rib laughing! New fan here!

Damn this was hard to watch. The son of Richard Pryor getting booed off stage. Well hopefully this will be a valuable learning experience for him. Dont go out there trying to 100% mimic your dad. Be your own man, and be funny.
It wasn't about his dad. His material was bad and he came out saying '' man am I nervous''.
@@waswaswad well I don't blame him for being nervous
Charlotte Flair should do the same too
Exactly. Every great comedian/entertainer has been booed off stage and had to save a show. Its what separates the successful ones from the losers.
Watching a comedian bomb hurts so much man
Worse when it's the son of a comic icon.
with enough training and watching
his father's old comic routines
he can be great.
it's a long road.
good thing maya Rudolph chose to
be a comedian an not replace her
mother in the music world.
some kids have a hard time stepping
in there parents shoes.
that's why most of em never replace
em an become something else like
a ups worker etc.
Play stupid 🎮 games and win stupid 🏆 prizes
Thank you all for the kind words on reaching 100k subs. Of course we couldn't do it without you.
You guys are GREAT
Double Toasted Congratulations.. Subscriber for a year now
It's about time. Love all your vids
Double Toasted you guys deserve it
Double Toasted next goal 200k.
This wasn't Richard Pryor's son doing a comedy set. It was Richard Pryor's son doing a impression of his father doing a comedy set.
it was horrible
he needs to go into more training.
maybe watch or listen to all
his fathers old comedies.
when he's ready he should go back.
that's why people never take there
families place in stuff.
like you don't see maya Rudolph
replacing her mother mini ripperton
in the music world.
she did the right thing an became
a comedian instead.
The word "trying" needs to be placed into that comment's second sentence.
Sad
welp, at least no one was armed with a tomato.
S D Or rotten eggs...
matty Yeah same here.
Only a wrench
M 17 clink and he's down.
I bet someone was waiting outside the building next to his car ready to pelt him with tomatoes lmao
"Boo?" was the funniest thing he said all night.
Mike R. Lmfao for real.
Yep. He was dead serious with it too lmaooo
Boo? Boo? What are you, a fucking ghost?
I laughed my ass off 😂😂
the same with wrestling.
wrestler's always good at replacing
their fathers or mother's in
wrestling.
just look at Randy Orton, Cody
Rhodes etc.

Well I guess comedy isn't genetic.
It is, it could skips generations .. like every other gift lol
You know you are in for a good time when the video opens with a hearty Martin laugh.
That man laugh is something.
Man, Steve Harvey bringing him back is like giving him a participation trophy. Shouldn't have happened.
That was a mistake on his part.
he needs more training.
what he needs to do:
watch all or listen to his father's old
stuff.
then go back an knock em dead.
Congrats y’all on reaching 100k subscribers
They should get more subsribers than the Collider shills
It's about damn time
Oh they did! Good for them!
I remember when they were at 5k subscribers
Shout all the ppl from Spill I watch now and again but still am loyal and love to see Korey , Martin and the crew grow
You can tell he's trying too hard to act and speak like his dad. Be your own person, Mason. Richard would be much more proud of you if you did.
I didn't think Steve Harvey could mess up that bad as to say "Let him ride," just because Richard Pryor is his daddy. If he ain't funny, don't reward that, especially in front of one of the toughest rooms in comedy.
Steve Harvey ain't funny himself so he was sympathizing lol

Shit I didn't know you watch DT video. Big fan of you work

Martin's laugh though...LOL
Godfrey impression of Richard Pryor on his son bombing is hilarious jack 🤣
i was in new york 12 years ago and went to a comedy show where richard pryer's daughter did a gig. Nobody laughed at her jokes. She cut her set short and apologized saying she just wanted to do it for her father.
She found out stand up wasn't her think but she is pretty enjoyable on a panel.
Was that Rain?
16 years now
That's sad
I guess Pryor Jr. never inherited his daddy's funny bones.

VooDooChild6971 it's good that he bombed at the Apollo. That's the baptism of fire he needed to make it in comedy.
There is nothing wrong with him as a person, it's just that his material sucks
Did he really sound like that in school or is he putting on an impersonation of his father??
DT got me through many all nighters at university. Couldn't have done it without you guys, congrats on 100k.

God above I felt myself sinking back into my chair so fuckin' hard!
Congrats on 100k subscribers!
The problem is that so many comedians have borrowed and mimicked Pryors style of comedy that anything done today would look like a cheap imitation.

I want that Martin shirt
Master Shifu Yo, that shirt is wavy. I'm about to buy it
I want his wardrobe.
For Martin I actually think this is dressed down for him
