@@skipatrollife-southernutah7805 What types of snow should one prepare for? What types of turns? How do those change when you're getting someone off the slopes on a litter? Is a regular low-expert black diamond skier good enough for ski patrol? What tests go into certifying you (ski expertise only)? It's an interesting subject, and I'm sorry you didn't have a good reaction to my critique, but yeah I'd like to know more.
@@gordonwright996 Those are great questions! I'll try to answer some on my video this Friday, that's great, thank you for the ideas. I'll write them on a notepad to remind myself, I appreciate it. Quick answer: yes a skier/snowboarder good enough to do anything on our mountain safely would be good enough with regards to sliding skills. Things change quite a bit while pulling a toboggan, we really just need people that are smart enough to get an injured person down the hill safely and without adding additional injury. At the beginning of each season we do a sliding assessment with the prospective Patrollers. - What question/statement didn't I like?
"Sir, i'm going to have to ask you to give me your pass"
Hah! Not normally something I enjoy - but for him...
@@skipatrollife-southernutah7805 ¿For who?

@@KAWVR On my back? That's where an avalanche bag goes if I were to go into that terrain. I currently have it filled with spare medical gear.
Tele-Patroller! Sir some of us have wives
Haaaah!! I have one of those. (A wife that is) I'm not brave enough to tele-ski.

Awww... Did you have a good season?
This was pretty unhelpful tbh
That's awesome to hear! I what way was it helpful? Perhaps I can do more it
