Was für eine ebenso großartige wie sympathische Pianistin! Und ein Sonderlob den hervorragenden Streichern der Victoria Symphony für ihre exquisite Wiedergabe von Griegs Holberg-Suite.
Dame Hewitt superb, as always, her Fazioli magnificent, the sound excellent ... but the chamber orchestra just doesn´t rise to muster, in my humble opinion
Beautiful rendering of "Jesu Joy . . . " Why would Jesus be the joy of JSB's desiring? His signed-off dedication of each composed piece was "to the glory of God," as He is revealed in Jesus Christ. Being a churchman in the tradition of Martin Luther, he knew, Biblically, Jesus was the One who justified Him by faith - even though he knew himself to be a sinner. Christ's death outside Jerusalem's city wall was undertaken, he knew, for JSB ; faith in the risen LORD saved him, with its wonderful eternal consequences. So, Bach's music was, per se, an act of eternal gratitude to God. For the Christian musician, every note (as an Angela-seminar said) is thus of supreme importance!
