    Writers are truly the directors of television.

    Literally the most eye opening insightful and inspirational interview on this channel as a filmmaker/director looking for real world examples of what a director does. Well done!

      Hi Sully, we would also recommend the latest segment we just posted with Daniel in regards to the reality of the business - ruclips.net/video/39il8Vl1S48/видео.html (it's actually the part just before this clip here) Also, stay tuned for our upcoming interview with Mark W. Travis. We're hoping to post the first segment of this new interview tonight.

      Oh wow nice, thanks! Having done a few shorts, I'm working on writing/directing my first real feature right now so this information is truly invaluable and inspirational!

    Thanks for this, it's always good to hear from other directors that they feel the same way. I'm trained as a film director, being able to build something/anything from scratch. But the TV world is something very very strange. Where the writers are god (literally), and their word is final. Where as in film, the script is a guideline and no word is set in stone.

    As a writer-director myself this is an interesting idea, the idea of not being creatively in control of the final product. And most importantly, not being involved in the edit. So I wonder which is a more rewarding experience, being a director for features or being a showrunner for a tv show? I suppose it depends on a few variables.

    I find that I have to be the editor so this sounds like a nightmare some ways. Although, if I ever found an editor that works the way I like, I'd be great, or better, a guest director to direct just an episode or two.

    Everyone who knows about the business of TV and Film knows the clear differences in responsibilities between a TV and film director's duties. Obviously he didn't know, that's all.
    A TV director is a hired craftsman not visionary as in film because of its production model.

    I've heard very different things about directing tv from a top tv director. I don't know what this guy is talking about.

    Which is why tv always feels so un-authored and doesn't have any of the visual language films do.

    Dear Mrs Gal Gadot, Mrs Patty Jenkins, The Academy Awards Board of Governors, and The Dolby Theater of Beverly Hills California,
    Hello from Jerusalem Israel. How are you all? I hope you have all had a awesome day. I am writing to tell you both thank you all so much for inspiring my life saving Mobileye Intel Jerusalem career and inspiring me to never give up to achieve my Academy Award winning dream. I will be twenty seven years old in Jerusalem this May 15th, and I use artificial intelligence and computer machine learning technology to daily save lives from car collisions.

    You all inspire me Mrs Gal Gadot and Mrs Patty Jenkins and the Oscar Academy Awards to persevere and love myself unapologetically every single day and you all inspire me every day to become the first ever openly autistic Oscar Academy Award winner this April in 2021 in Beverly Hills Los Angeles California at Dolby Theater. I am proud to be who I am as a loving and empathetic human being without shame and compromise and my parents Mr Keith Trauner and Mrs Sara Trauner in Coconut Grove South Miami Florida live next door to Mr Alex Rodriguez and Mrs Jennifer Lopez.

    I authored a article on the film Wonder Woman 1984 which I finished watching in Jerusalem last week on Thursday and I passed on my article to both Mrs Gal Gadot and Mrs Patty Jenkins.
    WE ARE WONDROUS SUPERHEROES
    //
    How does the superhero fly when the superhero is needed most?
    //
    How does the superhero fly when the world needs heroes most?
    //
    My heart believes in the truth that every loving person has a soul.
    //
    My heart champions the message, everyone can be a light of hope.
    //
    Hope is what drives our human race to overcome limits and be heroic.
    //
    Hope is what pushes our human race to love and inspire who we love.
    //
    If you love who you are and what you do, you will make the world loving.
    //
    We are all superheroes when the world needs love and peacefulness most.
    //
    We are all superheroes when we look in the mirror and wake up every morning.
    //
    We are wondrous when we share love. When we love the world, we are heroic.
    Be persistent and never give up - Mrs. Gal Gadot.
