You've got to love the positivity and determination of Eric to pursue his dreams against all odds and his obvious health issues. He deserves all our greatest respect.
Stunning scenery. For someone like me who's confined to a wheelchair, your bravery and dedication to film and share these incredible adventures allows me to venture along with you visually, to see parts of the world that are just out of my reach. I for one certainly appreciate all you do.
There are programmes that provide access to sailing for people in wheelchairs, my club has dinghies and a special cruising boat. If interested search in your locality; hopefully will find freedom. 😊
@@andrewbrown2063 Hey Andrew, yes you are correct. There's is indeed a sailing club that caters for those with disabilities. When I was in the rehabilitation center after my fall they took us out on a boat. The problem with me is that my spinal cord was pinched at C3-C4, so I'm medically classed as a quadriplegic. I do not have the core muscles to keep me in a seated position. Which was very difficult to do when I was on the boat. Even being held by two strong men. I think it would have to be a boat in which my wheelchair comes along for the ride. Where in the other boat they lifted me in with a hoist and I just didn't feel safe or secure. Plus I had to endure the bangs to the spine going over the waves, which was tough man. But thanks for the recommendation my friend. Erik's beautifully shot videos are more than enough for me to tag along with him from the comfort and safety of my house lol. I'm more fascinated with how this guy can do what he's doing when he's clearly nowhere near 100% health and function.
@@realms_of_reality as another disabled person although not to your level, I second every word. The fact that he does this single handed is all the more amazing. I could not sail it on a calm lake much less raging storms in cold water. Inspired sailing no matter your situation.

You're nothing without your health, as I'm sure you well know, or your health is your wealth as the olde saying goes. That applies to us all my friend. Erik should be 100% healthy with full bodily functions when attempting these crossing's. If he has a fall when he's in so much pain like that he's in big trouble. We know he has the bravery and dedication to push on, but has he the balls to say enough is enough and focus more on his recovery and reaching optimal health. @@realms_of_reality I often say this to young people I meet : Never take your health as a given, nor expect it to remain till you are "old". I was in my early 30's making an outstanding living, engaged to be married and otherwise in good health on a Sunday evening. I fell asleep on the couch watching football and woke in pain and unable to get up. I had stupidly done something over the weekend and had impinged my sciatic nerve. Doctors told me that my spine was unstable and that surgery was needed. It quickly went downhill from there. Despite having an excellent neurosurgery, my fusion turned out to have failed. Six months later I found my self disabled, unemployed and un-engaged. I would have been homeless without a great brother who took me into his home. Thank God I had insurance that kept me from being destitute but nowhere near my former income. Over 20 years later I am doing OK but a million miles from where I thought I was going to be when I began this journey. I will spare you all the trials and tribulations in the intervening years. Needless to say they were not fun. Vacations to see the places I had dreamed of in Europe happened, but not the way I dreamed of before my injury. I love Vienna, but not being able to walk any distance really cut down on seeing that ancient city the way I should have seen it. A week in Paris had to have days off in the middle despite "taking it easy" on my sightseeing. Cruises with family meant staying on the ship instead of ziplineing thru the jungles of Costa Rica. I skipped the trips to Hawaii and the Galopagos Islands. A whole bunch of frequent flyer miles were given away to family members instead of being used myself. I can't really bitch - I had already saved up and prepared myself before I got hurt. I had insurance. But none of that could replace what I lost when I lost my health. Nothing could. So watching Erik tough it out on his trips is inspiring. Even if I hit the lottery I can't do that. So seeing him do it inspires me to try what I can accepting that I might fail several times before I get close - and that's enough. So I send him a few bucks so that he can try that next adventure and film it for us all. If I can do it so can you.

Thoroughly enjoyed your video. Beautiful and breath taking scenery. Challenging sailing conditions. You are the definition of courage. Keep inspiring and encouraging everyone with your adventures and videos despite facing health issues and adversity.
The skills and courage shown on this channel are hugely impressive and deserves respect. I’m originally from Copenhagen, and have relatives who have worked and visited on Greenland, so I have some vague idea about what it takes to sail a small boat in those waters. I have never been there myself. I could have been, but a few years ago declined an offer to help take a Crealock 40 Pilothouse back from Norway to Lake Superior via Iceland and Greenland, because of what I have been told about the waters around Greenland. The boat narrowly avoided severe weather at Kap Farvel by being able to pass through Prins Christians Sund, and eventually returned to the Great Lakes via the St. Lawrence.
Your Videos and the way you talk about when its getting gough some times in life is very inspiring. Beside that your sailing adventures makes me wanna sail again asap.

Erik you are such a talented sailor AND videographer! We love watching your beautiful videos and following your adventures. I have one important request, which I'm sure you have heard before: Please wear a harness when going forward on the boat like you do. No need for a PFD in those cold waters I know, but a short tether to taut webbing down the centerline may save your life one of these days. Please consider it!
@Erik Snæfellsjökull is famous from Jules Verne's Journey to the Centre of the Earth - like you, those adventureres/explorers would go to great lengths to reach their goal. You may consider bringing in some more people to reach this goal, buddy boat(s), extra crew or that sort of thing. It is admirable what you do, no doubt about it, but you need to look out for yourself a bit more 😉 Looking forward to the next episode - take care
Demons and vikings. Very fitting for all of our struggles internal and external. Ive been trying to go towards discomfort, I was tested largely today and have come out the other side in my mind. Its not easy but rewiring the brain to better deal with stress and anxiety has become something I work on daily with ice swims and deep breathing.. Maybe it could help your condition, it has supposedly helped many with such issues. Good luck always and may your Viking always win the battle!
Glad to see this one, was expecting it :) Small story for the fun: We were in the same area at the same time (with Glenans's Lengaï boat). And it happened that we were enjoying some drinks one day in a Grundarfjörður pub (59 Bistro Bar) when you entered this place and had your diner. One of our fellows did know you and told us who was sitting next to us ... But no one dare to simply come and say hello ^^' Anyway, thanks for the images !
Sitting in Maui on vacation and so had to get up early to watch this!!.... Erik rest up and get well! Thanks for taking us along on this Journey #3! All the best Richard

Your logo and the background from that is amazing. 👍

Gentlemen Never Sail to Weather. Vikings do ! Great episode. You could name your boat Endeavour considering your perseverance. 👏
Digestive system issues are pure misery. Just spent an entire month having to be within feet of a restroom 24/7. Glad you're able to push through it and continue doing what you love.

I love your sailing videos because it's real sailing in rough conditions, in close proximity to where I live in Scandinavia/Sweden. You're a great inspiration! Eat only meat, salt and water for at least three months and see what happens. It's amazing what it did for me and for many others. Take care and keep sailing!
Erik said "wow, that couldn't have been good for my ass!" One of the best sailor's lines I've ever heard, LOL!
I like your Nietzschean philosophy of 'overcoming' (adversity): will to power! More power to you Erik!
Erik, Great job. I'm sorry for your health issue, but I love sharing your adventures. Sail on brother.
Happy Friday! Thanks for all your work, and sharing your adventures with us!

Puts most other sailing channels to shame well done!
top adventure!
Amazing guy
Go Erik! Never stop and never look back.
It's finally here and as always fantastic.
life can be tough, but you have to love it. Great work out there. Erik. Conquer those darn demons. Sail on, Captain.

I wish one day your adventures can be in a cinema. A large screen would be fantastic .I could sit there all day watching your videos
Great stuff. You are a true sailor, determined, wise, and with plenty of “go”. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Rolly Tasker! Wow, what a deed!
So insane that if you fall out, that's it. Bravery, insanity, all for the buzz. Absolutely love it!
Good to hear from you, my viking friend...
I hope you feel a bit better soon Eric.
That is all I want to say.
❤️
Your scaring me to death, watching you out of the cabin in those conditions without a safety harness. Keep Safe
Your perseverance is inspiring!
Erik, You give me the inspiration to finish my own boat and get her in the water.
@Erik
Snæfellsjökull is famous from Jules Verne's Journey to the Centre of the Earth - like you, those adventureres/explorers would go to great lengths to reach their goal.
You may consider bringing in some more people to reach this goal, buddy boat(s), extra crew or that sort of thing. It is admirable what you do, no doubt about it, but you need to look out for yourself a bit more 😉
Looking forward to the next episode - take care
Thank you for sharing your inspirational experiences .
Thanks, Mr. Erik Aandera, for one more nice sailing video.
Glad to see this one, was expecting it :)
Small story for the fun: We were in the same area at the same time (with Glenans's Lengaï boat). And it happened that we were enjoying some drinks one day in a Grundarfjörður pub (59 Bistro Bar) when you entered this place and had your diner. One of our fellows did know you and told us who was sitting next to us ... But no one dare to simply come and say hello ^^'
Anyway, thanks for the images !
Beautiful city.I loved it.
Do you wear a life vest Erik? Stunning scenery. Makes me think about taking up sailing.
It's good to see you are healthy and back in sailing Erik! Your passion, dedication and focus are so inspiring. I am so glad that you are out there.
evil and viking i like the idea, of course tiger is important too^^, nice to see this trip
Excellent chapter, Erik!! Maybe my favorite so far with so much great sailing footage! Can’t wait for the next one.
Sitting in Maui on vacation and so had to get up early to watch this!!.... Erik rest up and get well! Thanks for taking us along on this Journey #3! All the best Richard
I'm really worried about your health, man!! please get better!! 🤞
Thanks for your awesome videos. May the wind be at your back.
There's an old Viking village on the northern point of the Volcano peninsula. Nice to see a modern Viking sail the same waters past it.
Nice try, typical youtube scam! Do not reply!
A brilliant video Erik, your positivity towards everything that you do is incredible, we’ll done and keep it up.
