We made these cookies on our honeymoon at a little cottage on Lake Superior. I think will always take me back to that feeling of happiness I had while making these (it was also the first time my husband had made cookies). I've made browned butter to add to a cookie recipe. I hadn't done that before. I made sure to stir it continuously. The butter did get a beautiful golden color... then it got darker. There were some brown flecks and a lot of black flecks in it. I didn't brown it on high heat. I'd say it was medium high. But watching this I saw where I messed up. I will have the heat at a lower setting in the future.
