I suggest you agonize over this for as long as possible, ultimately holding on to the preset patterns

Nice. I upgraded to the TR-8s since it can at least sort of do sidechain, but I actually kept the 6s because other than the sidechain, I prefer the 6s, so I use the 6s as an instrument unto itself, no bass drum.

You can sidechain on the 6S too, it’s in the kit settings I believe
