This is my first ever unscripted video and my longest video by far. I tried my best to make it good but I don’t think it compares to my shorter and scripted videos, still I hope it’s not disappointing or anything. I’ll definitely stick to mostly scripted videos but this was also really fun to make and I learned a lot from making it.
It was really weird talking without a script, I was so anxious while talking because I didn’t want the video to turn out boring so in the back of my mind I was always like :”say something funny, SAY SOMETHING FUNNY”. English being my 3rd language also doesn’t help with talking lol. I had to cut out like 20 minutes of stuttering, saying things incorrectly and silence.

I think you missed a lot of Eula's and Amber's interactions to put them in "why?", mostly on the Dragonspine event which shows Eula being extremely protective of Amber and giving her more attention rather than her other friends, search "Eula saves Amber cutscene" and you'll see they're pretty cute! Also they even took a bath together, even tho it was in dragonspine so Amber probably freezed in there 😅

Unless Amber and Mika have some kinda of allergies or Hoyo don't really care about this ship.

Actually Beidou and Ningguang have a pretty similar background, both born and grow in a rural village, to the point they actually meet when kids.
Then Beidou is called the "Uncrowned Queen of the Sea" just because a country in the sea can't exist and well, despite being a pirate she and her fleet is basically the informal military navy of Liyue and held in pretty high regard having killed a literal god without even a vision a the time.
Hu Tao and Yanfei is more aesthetic based than anything else, but Yanfei does have a voiceline where she says she wishes Hu Tao would require her services more often.
Bennett’s voiceline about Fischl is basically “she’s amazing!” The two of them + Razor are best buds.
Kaeya and Albedo began with Kaeya’s voiceline about him, where he says, “you’re into him _as well?_” Plus, they’re both Khaenrian, and intertwined lore is always fun.
I also wanted to explain Arlecchino and Columbina. All Fatui take their names from Italian theater, or commedia del arte, and in that Italian theater, the characters of Arlecchino and Columbina are lovers (which is usually a center plot point of the two)
Yelan and Shenhe have no interactions in game, but those comics are extremely based so now they’re canon
Kazuha and Scaramouche are not like, “you killed my family let’s kiss” but more based on the idea that they would meet and Scaramouche would learn to forgive himself. (_then_ they kiss.)
Similar w Clorinde and Navia. They were childhood friends and really close, and Navia’s dad even asked Clorinde to protect her. In fact, navia’s father _wanted_ to die in that duel for Navia’s protection, which Clorinde realized.
Itto and Gorou kinda make sense? I like them mostly bc Itto’s voiceline about him is “he makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside” like what else are we supposed to think?
Sara and Koko: They’re kinda friends after the war happens. Koko realizes Sara is a good person and stuff. (Also the cutscene where Koko appears during a battle. Sara questioned her loyalty to Raiden there and I cannot be convinced otherwise.)

I think the angle for kazuscara at least for me is less immediately romantic and more based around the potential that them meeting and interacting would have. Scaras history with kazuhas bloodline, the conflict kazuha had with the shogun, the themes about freedom and scaras openness to facing the consequences of his actions... I would love to see how them meeting and interacting would go down. It would be awesome if they had a badass magical ronin duel to settle their history, talk about inazuma and the failings of eternity. Whatever relationship comes after that would have a very interesring base to grow from. Scara has a really good voice line that sums up this potential nicely. This is sorta why i think people like kaebedo, the potential of their shared relationship with khaenriah... Which hoyo refuses to address LMAO
This is _exactly_ why I ship them. Not romance at first, but their stories are already very intertwined.

some of the reasons why eimiko is honestly more than just implied are that they wear marrige anklets, always spend time together, flirts, are based on canonon hoyo lesbians and also really really like the fanfic someone wrote about them that miko edited and published. also in a chinese hoyoverse livestream ei said "yae is my girlfriend" which some people call fanservice but i don't see why raiden's va would risk losing her job and maybe get in legal trouble over something like fanservice. the context for the last thing is that it's illegal to have queer characters in china but that hasn't really stopped hoyo before, they've only toned it down. hoyo has for 10 years avoided and broken the law lmao

I cried a little with the Chongyun × Xingqiu rating, but I respect your opinion.
To give a "little" explination of why people ship them:
Xingqiu and Chongyun fit heavily as the childhood friends to lovers trope. Most scenes that they exist in show both of them hanging out with each other. Chongyun, in particular, talks about Xingqiu A LOT. In his character story he talks about how Xingqiu was the one to change his views on himself as an exorcist. In his hangout event he also mentions Xingqiu, talking about how good of a friend he is. Xingqiu also appeared in both of chongyuns 2023 chibi arts (I think). Speaking of art, most official arts in which they appear, always have them being seen next to eachother. Xingqiu and Chongyun have also been mentioned to go out for food together a lot (as mentioned in Xianglings voice lines). Xingqiu is also a prankster around Chongyun and is known to tease him by giving him false ghost sightings and tricking him into eating spicy foods, which makes chongyun go a little crazy. Since Chongyun is very gullible (bless his soul), he often gets scammed for false information on ghost leads, so Xingqiu goes out of his way to give the money back. (This is also stated in Chongyun's character stories i believe). On the wangshu inn bulliten board, there is a chance to see a message written by Chongyun, apologizing for recking up the dining area due to his yang energy and offering to pay for any destruction. The restraunt owner mentions how xingqiu had already paid the damages prior to chongyun coming. In the first lantern rite (i think), Xingqiu and chongyun can be seen in Quince village with xingqiu supposingly dragging him there. When you click on their dialoge, Xingqiu asks Chongyun to read him a romance novel called "Yong and Hopelessly Smitten". Since this book title could potentially apply to Chongyun and xingqiu themselves, shippers theorize that Xingqiu may have chosen that book to hint at his feelings for chongyun. Another instence of potential hinting was in Chongyuns hangout event where he invites the Traveller to a haunted attraction since he needed a second person to enter with him. It was also mentioned that Xingqiu was the one to tell him about this attraction (although he omitted the fact that it was not an actual ghost infested area). Unknown to chongyun, this attration was actually meant for couples, so shippers again theorized that this may have been Xingqiu hinting again at his feelings for Chongyun. I'd also like to mention a moment from the windborne poetry event that is most likely just coincidence but still good to note. In one of the poems Xingqiu tells, he recites on the brightness and clearness of heart that cor lapis has and how it makes others wonder if they themselves are as bright and the beauty of silk and whether or not it ever feels the way other humans do. Considering Cor lapis and silk are Chongyun and Xingqius asencion materials, it is also easy to connect the poem to each of them. Chongyun is very wholesome and earnest much like the cor lapis, while Xingqiu often has to "put on an act" for others around him to uphold his reputation, which could make people wonder if he ever truly feels the same emotions others do. Again, this one is just my own speculation, so it may not hold true. Since Silk flowers are Xinqius acension material, its good to mentions Chongyun's 2021? birthday message in which he gives the Traveller silk flowers instead of his own acension material or something related to his character like most other birthday arts. Reading the message feels out of place and can be read like some sort of love confession which seems quite weird for the traveller to receive since Chongyun and the traveller don't seem all too close. It could be implied from this that the message was meant for Xingqiu rather than the traveller.
Random other little facts and stuff:
1) Xingqiu gave Chongyun a friendship tassle, so Chongyun also gave Xingqiu a tassle in return. Both of these tassles can be seen on their visions (although Xingqiu has a lot of tassles, so his could also possibly be the one on his ear or leg).
2) If you invert both Chongyun and Xingqiu's designs, they switch color palletes.
3) As said in one of the special broadcasts of genshin (i think) it was mentioned that Chongyun once overheated and got a nosebleed due to Xingqiu's awful singing.
4) In the english translation of the game, Xingqiu refers to Chongyun as "Dear Chongyun" in his about Chongyun voice line
5) In the 2023 lantern rite, I think Xingqiu was hyping up Chongyun a lot, especially when the characters were voting on who to lite the fire thingy at the dinner or whatever (I can barely remember it, so just trust me bro).
Although there is a very good chance the game only meant for them to be seen as friends, there also seems to be a very good chance that they could be more considering all the seemingly implied moments they have. I know they're my personal favorite ship, but I understand if others feel differently, so please dont be rude in the replies.
Lastly, FRIENDS TO LOVERS!! ITS THE BEST TROPE I SWEAR!!

I just didn't know much about them that's why I put them in "why", I've only been playing since 2.8 so I missed everything before that, but after reading all these comments I'm certain Xingqiu and Chongyun should be canon. It sounds like a ship the devs are really into and trying to make happen haha. It's pretty cute! :)

Well Im not the biggest fan of Zhongli x Tartaglia but I think the reason for this much popularity of this ship ( at least in the early genshin since it died down alot rn because there is no screen time of them together lol) was because they released at the same time and had Zhongli do this one ancient chinese custom that is gifting Childe dragon-and-phoenix chopsticks as a gift in his teaser. Its a very popular tactic that writers use in china to avoid having to deal with the anti gay laws. Basically the chopstick thing is like a marriage proposal. In this case tho it was probably ment to be more platonic but chinese fans went crazy and taught english fans about it and the rest is history lol. And yeah as you mentioned people memed the sugar daddy thing alot too.

Also for me yaexgorou is the same as Ittoxgorou just in another language. I mean Itto being in love with Miss Hina not knowing its Gorou is just hilarious and you can't tell me hoyoverse did not put it there for the bl troupe.

I had a chinese player explain to me that they can be gifted for other reasons too but people only focus on the marriage thing because they use it to attack other ships saying their ship is canon when zhongli and childe have like 1 interaction in the entire quest and it isnt a positive one.

Realll. In the Tevyat Travel guide volume 3 Alice talks about how back in the day, Yae would cry very easily and how Alice talked her into getting too drunk or something. So I like to think that Yae kinda sees Gorou as a reflection of her younger self. Which I really like cuz it has nice potential for a sort of mentor and mentee relationship or some nice parallels at least. And I love parallels between characters so much my dear god!!! A big thing that's wrong with my headcanon tho is that Gorou can be assumed to be a lot less smart than Yae even at the point in time where she got pressured by Alice so uhhhh
Fanfics are just a world of their own. Doesn't really matter if the chars interact in their source material. The fanfic writers will just create their own canon. Male x male ships are super popular on fanfic sites because the writers are mostly girls that are into that. Popularity might look different on r34 sites :P although male x male pairings are popular there too.

For statistics: Ganyu/Keqing is my favorite, even if the game gives us only crumbs - but is be such a grounded, though-out partnership; ...and they are cute together.
I still think that Al & Ka work better as a Bromance or good friends with problems paying the rent.
I also never got the Zongli/Child ship, they used and never trusted each other in the quest.
Hu Tao & Yanfei: both use pyro, live in the same city, one uses amoral business practices, the other is a lawyer - fun for a short story or a in game flirt, otherwise: why?
Traveller & Ayaka: oh come one, the search for her mothers friend, the festival and then her dance didn't raised them higher than Okay?
Zongli & Hu Tao sounds pretty sick, more so than Raiden & Sara; and while Raiden might not even recognize what's going on, Zongli has no such excuse.
Amber & Eula: there's the end of Eula's character teaser, and their working together in the Dragonspine event with the snowman - they are cute together and complement each other in every aspect (combat, element, character, family relation).
Zhongli x Childe got explained to me in the comments, in short: Zhongli gave Childe a gift, some special chopsticks, and apperantly in Chinese tradition that COULD mean that he's romantically interested him so the community just ran with it.
I find The Traveler kinda boring and I also find Ayaka kinda boring, so when I see them together I cannot think anything other than "Uhmm... Okay"
Unfortunately I didn't get to play the Dragonspine event so I missed those Eula and Amber interactions :(

You chat to Aether about each other's lawns, Ayaka makes Brock's special Jelly Donuts, and then you realise that the police have been tailing Ayaka for years due to the murder of a girl named Lumine... Who is found in a trash bag behind the boiler.
So yeah, perfect ship, nothing wrong with it. After all, 240 days has already shown us how crazy Ayaka is, so it's the perfect thriller!

I was thinking about researching every ship so I wouldn't need the "why ?" tier but I think it was way more fun for me to jump into it with just what I know. I don't regret it, I like reading all these comments explaining what I missed. I did looked into Amber x Eula after I saw the comments and it's actually a really cute ship.

kazuscara is a league on their own, it started as a crack fun ship and time after time at every crumb hoyo graces us about their respective background story it keeps getting juicer and juicer. the cherry on top was scara becoming wanderer and being blue, red and blue is truly a classic hoyo cooked so hard there. I love foils in stories I'm gonna eat it up everytime. their stories mirror each other so well, I swear I'm just waiting for them to meet even if its a time limited event. or even some random youtube video they decide to release. I'll accept anything atp.
some more solid stuff, the official hoyowiki entries for both wanderer and kazuha, it shows character relationships and it says though they have not met wanderer deeply admires and is even pleased to share the same vision element as kazuha.

Some contexts:
Amber x Eula:
They grew up together, amber is in eula's team, Eula character demo ending where Eula asks amber to dance with her. Lots of mond events have amber and Eula together.
Chongyun x Xinqiu: very good friends where Xinqiu pranks a lot. Chongyun's nose bled when Xinqiu sang once. Also that event where Xinqiu told chongyun that Xinqiu was reading a book called "young and in love".
Clorinde x Navia: Clorinde's promise made to Navia's dad is somewhat recontextualised in Navia's vision story. Navia and Clorinde where good friends before her dad died.
5:25 I don't ship it myself, but when they have matching pendants that they've gifted to each other as a symbol of their everlasting friendship......I can see why people would ship it
Here is the ittorou explanation my friend, by an ittorou shipper halfway in denial:
Gorou is a columnist for the Yae Publishing house and basically answers readers who write to the column for advice. But Yae Miko came up with a persona Gorou has no knowledge of called Ms. Hina. And so the readers all think this 'Ms. Hina' is answering all their letters when it's actually just Gorou.
Fun fact: The fan club actually acknowledges that Yae Publishing house conceals the personal details of 'Ms. Hina' which is explicitly stated to include her gender lmao.
Itto is a reader of this column and writes to it. He has a dedicated voice line to 'Ms. Hina' where he recommends the traveler to write to her if they ever have something on their mind and says that he used to be a lost soul but is not anymore and that it's all thanks to her. Also in the 'Akitsu-' something event back in 3.3 he talks about how he wrote about catching a giant fish to Ms. Hina recently. I don't exactly remember but like halfway through saying that he goes something like 'she's so amazing'. So overall we can conclude Itto might have a teeny weeny crush on Ms. Hina (but that's just my headcanon).
Another fun fact: When Itto first got his vision he, after showing it off to everyone on Hanamizaka of course, wrote to Ms. Hina to ask how to make sure it's shinier than anyone else's and 'Ms. Hina' recommended cleaning it with a soft piece of cloth or something. And I think that's really sweet.
Itto also states in his voiceline about Gorou that he gets all warm and fuzzy inside when he sees Gorou even though he's barely met him. Although this might just be his 'natural ability to connect with people' as the Ms. Hina fan club puts it since in the 3.3 event, a youkai says the exact same thing about Gorou after talking to him. (Also the interaction between Gorou and that youkai is sooo cute but anyways).
In the 4.6 event Itto says that he only recently found out Gorou is a general and that he thought that was impressive. Also the entire event was only possible to be hosted on Watasumi island because (my memory is quite hazy on this) Itto asked Ms. Hina something (idk what) and Ms. Hina said to look for Gorou (to organise the event on Watasumi but I'm sorry I don't rebember). Anyhow so I think that means Itto and Gorou worked together to organise it a bit (offscreen sadly. I was very much hoping for on screen Gorou and Itto interactions that don't just involve Hoyoverse going: "haha remember Ms. Hina, we are going to drag that whole thing out because the CCP might come after us if we ever move that plotline forward too significantly.")
Gorou may not have a voice line about Itto but in his hangout he does say: "it made me so happy everytime they'd compliment me" about the readers of his column. And with how much of a simp Itto is for Ms. Hina, he's probably written some of the compliments that make Gorou happy.
So anyways that's the general (pun intended) gist of it. I am so normal about them I swear. If anyone has anything to add pls do I need to know I'm not the only one with ittorou brainrot this severe. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Bennefischl is a cute ship because they're both adventurers who were either bullied or ostracised by other kids (Fischl's fantasies put other children off, while Bennett's bad luck made kids avoid him), something that hasn't changed as they grew up (most people only care for Fischl when she has something to report, and even then they care more for Oz's interpretation; while people STILL avoid Bennett because of his bad luck curse and treat him like a pariah). They're already friends with each other and go on adventures together. I do not believe in shipping different people with different backgrounds, who value different things (like Beiguang), I believe in people with similar backgrounds and experiences getting together because they understand each other and what they've been, so they can find comfort in each other. ALSO, Bennett buys Fischl's act hook, line and sinker. He GENUINELY believes she's a princess from another land

Because story quest has Nilou go all stupid over Aether/Lumine at certain parts and the camera zooms in on her face, as if to say "Hey, look everyone, she's getting all shy and cute! That means she has feelings for them!"

I intended them as either Lumine or Aerther x (character). That's why I said "The Traveler x ..."
I don't feel like there's a significant difference between Aether and Lumine so I didn't separate their ships.
As an example you can think of the "Traveler x Ayaka" ship, as either "Lumine x Ayaka" or "Aether x Ayaka".
It's the same ship for me so it doesn't matter which sibling it is, it would have ended up in the same tier.

I dont think Alhaitham and Kaveh should ever be canon lol their relationship is toxic af. Im speaking from bias here, but as someone who has a family that has a huge issue with alcoholism, hearing fans say how cute it is that Alhaitham will buy Kaveh boxes of alcohol is "so cute" when the game establishes that Kaveh has a drinking problem so bad that Tighnari gets really concerned when he notices that Kaveh had been drinking in the morning time and scolds him for it. Now idk if this is just me, but enabling someone's self harming addiction isn't very cute to me? And the arguing just reminds me of a toxic relationship had years ago that ended with me leaving because we just brought out the worst in each other. Obviously my opinions on their relationship are based on my personal biases because of experiences I've had in the past as well as their interactions in game, so I dont judge anyone for shipping it or enjoying it, but I don't think there is any way on this earth that these two could ever be canon without it being extremely toxic, unless one or both of them is completely rewritten into being a different character altogether. A few good moments does not a healthy relationship make.

I dont really ship these two but ive seen alot artworks of them (usually the writting are so good and i understand why ppl ship them) and lore in game of them, and i read somewhere that basically they would argue so often bcz kaveh is a person who cant recieve kindness bcz he feels like he dont deserve one and would be so selfless taht he forgot abt himself (like in that event where scara use nick name hat guy he literally refused all the gifts, and feeding the foxes even tough he himself have very limited supplies) (and i dont remmeber what i read mostly but he left me with impression of someone who would prioritize everyone else before him) so alhaitam use a not very good technique, and unfortunately the one kaveh "could" accept, is by arguing. Its complicated and not usuall, i know. But i dont think alhaitam wouldnt come up with this conclusion by just "ick" he had with kaveh (if he had one). I think he would observe kaveh for a while and came out with this conclusion (and not telling anyone) abt how he have to treat kaveh. Ig this "bickering" is a mask for them to "taking care" of each other without clicking the wrong button ??????
