It obviously shows how powerful the original song writing actually was, courtesy of Martin, almost waiting in a musical suspension of some sort, for people as talented as we see here, to rework and set in motion once more. If anyone isn't already aware, these songs are album tracks, but worthy in their own right. DM as prolific record makers set one of the best examples of this album track quality in my opinion.
