@@archkull there is not so many differences between Sichuan dialect and mandarin, I will say it’s like between Hochdeutsch and Austrian Deutsch. But Cantonese is really different. I’m native mandarin speaker and I can understand 90% Sichuan dialect but under 10% Cantonese

Hello from Texas. Today I tried to make hand-pulled noodles after watching you demonstrate. Ha, I did not do well. My first time. That's okay, I keep rice noodles in the house. The chili oil was amazing! I learned a great deal in the attempt, and shall try hand-pulled noodles again soon. Thank you very much for the videos. I enjoy watching your work. Your area is very lovely, and your grandmother is an adorable lady with a smile that delights. Next, I think I shall attempt one of the weaving techniques. The braiding of wool yarn, and then sewing together the braids, that you used on the purple cloak was clever!
Traditionally, you are supposed to add a type of plant ash into the dough that facilitates the pulling. But if one can't get hold of the ash, let the dough rest for an extended period of time (hours, even overnight), the noodles will become easier to pull

My mother and grandma's generations knew every skill a self-sufficient community required. We've lost those skills because of production specialization and globalization. We buy everything nowadays instead of making everything ourselves.
Everyone thinks this is the simple life, not realizing we just go to the store for meat and stick it in the oven. That is what I call simple. Her life is majestic and just amazing, but certainly not simple. And she loves it, just like we love seeing it. What a remarkable wonder woman
She is a farmer -- this is what farmers do in any part of the world. Seeing people hard at work is always cool -- it's even better to be hard at work oneself ;) But I don't see anything wrong with modern conveniences or technological efficiency. People like different things. It isn't fair to call anybody "simple" just because they allot their time differently. It wasn't for software engineers and their easy-to-use ovens, there wouldn't be computers or an internet for people like Liziqi to upload things to. As for the beauty -- you've got a pretty actress, a beautiful landscape, cute animals and a good camera crew, so of course the videos are going to look good. Videos of actual farmers don't get so much attention though, because people don't want to see ordinary-looking people wearing tough fibers and getting their callused hands all grubby with things like covering up cabbages for an autumn night or shoveling manure from the cow shed. I love Liziqi's channel and her videos are excellent, but let's not pretend that she's an actual farmer or even an experienced home-maker. I do a lot of housework, and my hands already show obvious signs of working. And when I do work, whether in the house or outside, I don't put on a red-dyed cashmere cloak, make-up and nice little braids, because all of that is bound to get messed up. My closest childhood friend lives on a farm and comes from a long lineage of farmers. It's a totally different picture. I'd wish people would pay just as much attention to the less attractive but more realistic images of farm life as they do to the glamorous ones.

She did in fact live in the city, but her grandparents raised her, and her grandfather taught her everything you see in her videos. When her grandmother got sick she went back to take care of her. Sure she shows us the more idyllic parts of her life and it was an established farm before she moved back in, but that doesn't make it any less of her life. Maybe she only dresses up for the camera, or maybe that's just how she likes to dress. I love wearing cloaks, sometimes on windy rainy days I'll dress up, cloak and all to walk 2 miles to the local library. I know farming girls who wear makeup and cute braids even when they muck out the stables. Not everyone has the same experiences. Maybe you should try Dianxi? Shes also a farming girl but in Yunnan with a larger family.

hope this helps! general rule of thumb for her videos: when the ingredients are shown and there's captions on the side, it's normally just naming the ingredients used (that's why i didn't translate them). and when she shows the final product, the captions state the name of the dish. when it appears beside her while she cooks, it's basically describing what she's doing

And she learned how to use the horse milk to make the kumiss.
The horse milk is bought from Tibetans（her friend's friends）. There are Tibetan tribes in the place where she lives.
That day is the New Year of the Qiang people(One of the ethnic minorities in China).
Her uncle brought a lamb, then she roasted the whole lamb.
They celebrate the New Year and used the Qiang language to express the New Year’s greetings to the Qiang people!
I just simply translated a small part of what Liziqi said.
All in all, she lives in a super magical place with a rich culture.

She is splashing the wine into the air to show respect to her passed away elders (like her father, grandpa, etc), so that those can enjoy the wine before she taste the wine.
In some other places, people may pour a small cup of wine into the soil before drinking for the same reason.

Traditionally, you are supposed to add a type of plant ash into the dough that facilitates the pulling. But if one can't get hold of the ash, let the dough rest for an extended period of time (hours, even overnight), the noodles will become easier to pull
hand-pull noodles is very hard，even it looks eazy for Liziqi.It takes time,needs a lot of practice .here's something i know ,wish could be helpful.: 1 . when u mix flour ，don't make it too dry or too wet,and there's an unique way to keep the paste evenly.2 .after u pull the paste once,remove the part that u hold it .that can keep the noodle evenly.if it evenly,it woun't be break. good luck keep trying . She is a farmer -- this is what farmers do in any part of the world. Seeing people hard at work is always cool -- it's even better to be hard at work oneself ;)
But I don't see anything wrong with modern conveniences or technological efficiency. People like different things. It isn't fair to call anybody "simple" just because they allot their time differently. It wasn't for software engineers and their easy-to-use ovens, there wouldn't be computers or an internet for people like Liziqi to upload things to.
As for the beauty -- you've got a pretty actress, a beautiful landscape, cute animals and a good camera crew, so of course the videos are going to look good. Videos of actual farmers don't get so much attention though, because people don't want to see ordinary-looking people wearing tough fibers and getting their callused hands all grubby with things like covering up cabbages for an autumn night or shoveling manure from the cow shed. I love Liziqi's channel and her videos are excellent, but let's not pretend that she's an actual farmer or even an experienced home-maker. I do a lot of housework, and my hands already show obvious signs of working. And when I do work, whether in the house or outside, I don't put on a red-dyed cashmere cloak, make-up and nice little braids, because all of that is bound to get messed up. My closest childhood friend lives on a farm and comes from a long lineage of farmers. It's a totally different picture.
I'd wish people would pay just as much attention to the less attractive but more realistic images of farm life as they do to the glamorous ones.
@@KPater-mf4je Except she is a farmer. A normal actress doesn't build furniture, weave baskets and harvest vegetables in the snow. She did in fact live in the city, but her grandparents raised her, and her grandfather taught her everything you see in her videos. When her grandmother got sick she went back to take care of her. Sure she shows us the more idyllic parts of her life and it was an established farm before she moved back in, but that doesn't make it any less of her life. Maybe she only dresses up for the camera, or maybe that's just how she likes to dress. I love wearing cloaks, sometimes on windy rainy days I'll dress up, cloak and all to walk 2 miles to the local library. I know farming girls who wear makeup and cute braids even when they muck out the stables. Not everyone has the same experiences. Maybe you should try Dianxi? Shes also a farming girl but in Yunnan with a larger family.

I came out of a poor village in Hunan, China, a lot of scenes in this channel are repeating of the life I had when I was young, so it connects me deeply and even strikes me into tears from time to time.
