I have a boat exactly like that that I’m working on for the last four years it’s a 1974 I grew up with it it was sold and I found it and I’m re-storing the whole thing back like original great job on your boat love it they are very nice boat
Beautiful job on that. I just picked up a holiday thats the outboard model. Its a total mess. Your project turned out beautifully. Ill likely take aome inspiration from this. Thanks for sharing
Just picked up an early 70s starcraft jupiter or holiday i believe is a 16ft. and only because someone mounted a 125hp merc on it i will be fixing it up for some comfy fishing
Hi! & THANKS for your video! I will be checking out your link on Iboats,,, hope to find it. I have 2 Starcrafts,,, A '71 Chieftain, 'LEAKS-A-LITTLE') & a beautiful '81 Islander. Both IO's. I hope to start chopping up the '71,,, It has a zillion miles on her,,,, she popped some rivets way back when, & then we got a 16" crack on the port side splash rail mid ship,,, that was while we were fishing Erie, about 12mi out!! (BTW, that excellent running Merc straight 6, 165hp & outdrive will be for sale ;>) The '81 is a BOOT BOAT,,, OMC. The hull is like new & I already renovated the interior for fishing Erie. Like 90% mint! I have plans to take out the I/O drive & put an outboard bracket on her. I have a 150hp outboard motor sitting here, waiting. (that OMC 4-banger & drive will be for sale too!) I just want to WARN everyone who is contemplating doing an OLD STARCRAFT REBUILD! After your floor is out, Make sure you run aluminum brackets up the inside,,, from the floor stringers up the gunwales. (Starcraft still might sell the kit,, I made my own angle brackets) You'll want to span & strengthen the sides, up & over those splash rails! They were made to flex, absorb the pounding, but the aluminum fatigues over time, & they WILL ALL EVENTUALLY CRACK! I know of 4 Starcrafts that cracked,, & I have pictures, if anyone would like to see them.
@@adamnewman7690 SORRY adam,,, I had eye surgery, & Wife had open heart! Been Busy!! HOW can I send you some pictures? Email? I have all of my BOAT pics stored in my PC, so Email would be the easiest way.?
Where did you find parts for the motor and any information about the boat? I recently bought a StarCraft holiday that I am going to fix up but I don’t know where to find parts or info about it.
Iboats.com has a forum just for StarCraft boats. You can find tons of info as well as other builds currently in progress. I documented my whole build on there.
Hello Justin. I was wondering,,, what city & State do you live in? & where do you 'run' your boat? I'd sure love to see it,, & talk to you if possible? I'm SO- SO impressed! My Wife & I had a slew of health problems this year,,,, so NEXT YEAR, I'm going to start tearing apart my '71 Chieftain,, the boat with ALL OF THE CRACKS! Pull out & SAVE the motor & outdrive, & most likely scrap the hull. (excellent running, VN shape, 165 hp 6cyl FOR SALE) THEN,,,, I'm planning on replacing the transom or filling in the HOLE in my '81 Islander. It's an OMC BOOT BOAT, & that drive has to go! I'm planning on buying an outboard bracket,,, that will hold an old 150hp Evinrude,,, but not sure who to buy the bracket from!? I wish I could post pictures here, on RUclips!? I'll look for your blog on iBoats.
