I had a 05 v6 that I had to delete the cats and put in a couple of 90 degree nonfoulers. Your car has a different engine than mine but from everything I researched and real life experience after the fact is the motor I had needed the cats to create back pressure for the engine to have max performance. And mine lost a ton of performance by doing that. Great video though. I’m just speaking of the previous v6 they had in mustangs
They are also criminally underrated as far as tuning capabilities they can take 500-600 rwhp on stock long block with turbo setups pretty reliably with a good tune. They are stout for sure and deserve more respect than they get.

I don’t know why but having both a 2014 GT with full exhaust I loved the sound but I find the trend of straight pipes on the V6 annoying they are much better with some kind of muffler.
When I got my v6 I straight piped it, within the first hour I went back and had 14 inch resonators installed, it’s just too much. You can’t even enjoy the car. I drove a 5.0 a few months later with long tube headers and a cat delete, and it was just as bad if not worse. It was the loudest thing ever, and as much as I love a good v8 roar this was too much to be able to enjoy the ride.
Yeah there are plenty of awesome axle back exhaust that don't have such a ridiculous drone. Add a downpipe with no cats and you get volume with a good tone. Waaaaaaay better than this fartbox.

The problem is not the cylinders, it’s the transmission. Decent exhaust set-up, just needs a clutch a three pedals for the ultimate sound. Long tubes and an H-pipe probably wouldn’t hurt either. Decent for what it is though.
i have a 2010 4.0 i wish i saw that the 2011 to 2014 v6 made 305 Hp before i got mine but i dont think i would straight pipe the 3.7 v6 ones to high pitched. in my opinion the 2010 sounds better.
I do have an engine light but I did not plug the 02 sensors back on I think even if you do plug them back in you’d have to tune it so it doesn’t throw a light, and honestly the car runs better without the cats
i used to work with a guy about a year ago that had a nissan 350 straight piped...that shit was so annoying just like this car, every time we would get off work we would hear that obnoxious shit turn on. Its coo if the car has like 500+hp but i cant stand slow cars with 300 or less hp that want their cars so loud for what? i have an ecoboost with 320 hp and its as quite as a honda...no need to try and make slow cars loud.
The ecoboost and the 3.7 are not slow by any standards obviously they can't compete with the V8 but they are still faster than the majority of cars on the road and I have seen a couple of 3.7s with twin turbos and 3.73 gears they are faster than a stock 5.0.
Worse thing I ever heard, someone please sneak in the middle of the night and install a stock muffler and cats. When will these damn kids learn v6’s sound ridiculously stupid with inadequate exhaust. Save it for the v8’s

A tune will help with the airflow. But its not required. All you need is defoulers if your going catless. That'll keep your check engine light off
