no matter how many times i’ve rewatched this and now we’re in 2023 this will remain as one of my favorite C dramas 😭 the ending is so sad but beautiful. i wish there was an alternate ending where somehow another pill to cure the poison could’ve been created or found sometime in the last couple of years left that they were making the most out of

Amazing how the grandma outlived everyone 😂 the drama is absolutely amazing I love Tiffany tang! All the actors were exceptional and very ruthless 👏 the ending is a bit sad but I like how realistic they made it, I've never finished a drama so fast and was invested in it 💓💓💓
What a Masterpiece. Words cannot express my sentiments on this drama series. The writers were awesome. Imagine Wei young and touba jin went through so much trouble and tribulation with her family. Although touba jin died he knew the Wei country was in good hands with Wei young and his son. I love all the cast in this drama. Excellent actors. This one is a 10 hands down.

Abdulateef Ridwan, he is speaking in general terms which does not distinguish between male or female. It is a figurative phrase. Wei Young was the sole survivor of the battle where everyone has fallen.
I’m not ashamed to say I ugly cried throughout this entire episode. Usually I’m good with not crying during movies and tv shows ( unless an animal is involved because if so all bets are off imma cry hard if an animal is hurt) but this show really got me. Such a beautiful tragic love story

When they were still working on their 4th DramaSeries "THE PRINCESS WEIYOUNG " before the end of 2015.. And they announced their relationship on Tiffany's 33rd Birthday in December 6, 2016.and while THE PRINCESS WEIYOUNG was aired at time..and They Got married after their 5th Drama series "THE WAY WE WERE " in 2018, They were merried in Vienna Austria on October 28 2018..and Tiffany gave birth to a baby girl in early year of 2020..
it's been like 2 years since i've seen princess weiyoung and everytime i see this episode i just start crying my eyes out. like this episode is so poetic and sad!!! this is one of my favorite chinese dramas and the entire show had me captivated.
favorite scene hands down; when weiyoung realized tuo bajun was still sick and silently cried while he, too sick to realize that he left that scroll opened, continued to promise to spend the rest of their lives together. broke my heart, def
(still laughing at the pun tho) True. She went through so much? Her whole family was murdered. She encountered s many obstacles to be with tuo bajun. And then when they finally could be together, he didn't have that much time left to spend with her. And she she's straddled with the responsibility of the country(or province? i really have no idea what's it called in english) whle bringing up her son by being the only parent in his life. she went through wayyyy too much.
Edushi Mokuwa this is actually based on a novel but it's reenacted differently in the novel Wei Young is the empress of tuoba jun but he marries Cheng Le and demotes Wei Yang and places her in the cold chamber(?)for Cheng Le Wei Youngs son is older but couldn't be crown Prince cause of Cheng Les son...Wei Young swears to seek revenge if she has the chance...and something happened and she got back in time...to where she was 13 yrs old...but this time Wei Young is no longer vulnerable...she defends herself and swears not to enter the palace...she even do tricks to her "mother" and "sisters" she is a whole different Wei Young...(don't wanna give u too much spoilers lol that is just the beginning)
Ohhh yeah, I heard about that. But i guess the directors decidded that kind of plot probably wouldn't be as appealing as the conquest for love that was actually portrayed in the actual drama. but the novel definitely made weiyoung's life so much more harder since there, tuo bajun was pretty much a bastard.
I was just researching some of the names in this series and a lot of this drama is actually based on true history-they got many details correct-so, in a way it is a bit of a history lesson as well with what was happening geopolitically at that time. The romance dialogue between the two is very well done. Even though the constant framing in the plot seemed a bit overdone and there were a few far fetched or cheesy scenarios -This art really is a beautiful gem and insight in to ancient Chinese culture. You can not help but fall in love with the characters and admire Chinese ancient culture. I really love it!
I'm crying so much Touba Jun love for weiyoung is too much, from beginning till the end he always trusted and loved her but at the end he wasn't able to grow old with her
I have to say that Tiffany Tang is truly a classically regal, elegant and beautiful woman. Even now, when I see new clips of her, I can see that she never lost that charm and her smiling eyes.

Basic English Summary: 1. Weiyoung learns that there is only one antidote. 2. Changru discovers the secret tunnel and attempts to assassinate Weiyoung. Tuoba Yu protects Weiyoung an dies (guess he is good for something). Tuoba Yu says that nothing matters anymore - if he can't have the world, he'd rather die. Yu then tells Changru sorry and dies. Changru then commits suicide (as much as I hated her character, I have to applaud her devotion... wait... but what happens to the kid?) 3. Doctor says that he can't cure the prison, but only can temporary suppress it - Jun has from 5-10 years to live. Jun is already really happy with the extra time. 4. Official Wedding (finally!) 5. They talk about never giving up on each other and how they have finally reached this point and are together. 6. Minde feels happy for Weiyoung. The servant runs up to Minde and acts frantic saying something about the Princess. He runs back and freaks out/breaks down. The princess is actually awake XD - they promise too get married. Awww the princess is still counting the kisses (it's at 101 now btw) 7. Weiyoung's family comes to visit - Jun has kingly duties though and has to attend to courtly matters. 8. Jun's dad's name is finally cleared - he is posthumously declared as a king 9. Weiyoung her "mom" and "grandmother" rise in rank. 10. Changle is visited one final time by Jun - she is to become a peasant. She finally admits to killing Jun's mother. Changle is offered poisoned wine as a alternative to becoming a peasent (she wants him to personally kill her - but he says she is not worth personally killing...(ouch... burn). She chooses death. 11. Juntao and Chende - they got married XD Juntao: "can't you walk faster >:(" Chende: "slow down, slow down (slips ) can't you act more like a girl D:" Juntao: (Glares) Chende: ":D girl, every much like a girl..." 12. Poison is acting back up again. Weiyoung brings in their son (awwww so cute). He has learned to write his own name. Jun then teaches Weiyoung how to write better (cause her words are supposedly ugly XD). Jun tries to hid the poison from Weiyoung, but she knows... Weiyoung then claims she was pretending not to know how to write well so that Jun can teach her forever (she was joking). 13. Tuoba Jun is reaching the end of his life - doctor says there is no way to suppress it anymore. The doctor tells him that it was a pity he didn't take the antidote himself rather than give it to the queen - he could have made the kingdom even more glorious. Tuoba Jun replies that if there was no Weiyoung, the kingdom would have no meaning to him. He doesn't want her to know this, but she overhears. Jun is talking about how he regrets that they won't be able to grow old together and that he won't see their son grow up... etc. 14. Weiyoung and Tuoba Jun plant even more flowers - the lanterns that WY drew and Jun made are hung up in their favorite spot among the flowers. They play a duet on the "qin". Jun is reciting a song/poem about how couples stay together forever. He then dies TT_TT 15. Weiyoung finishes the poem/song which goes that they will be together in death (at least that's what I think it translates too - please correct me if I'm wrong XD ) 16. Weiyoung and Jun's kid is now king, but because he is too young to rule, it is most likely that Weiyoung will rule as regent in his place. Tuoba Jun's last lines "Weiyoung, I can't protect you anymore. You must be strong. Please take care of the Kingdom of Wei. Please take care of our family too." Weiyoung: "Tuoba Jun. I will use everything protect the Kingdom of Wei, protect our family. I will take your love and live on. well done. I have really been entertained that it took me only three days to complete all the episodes. it was associated with an obsession that I couldn't stop watching. Li weiyoung, I admire your character, this is not only acting but the real you, the prince of Gaoyong, are a nice person and a lovely. then there are these two silent killers Nan Ann and chang ru. and sure such people are in our society. Im not satisfied with the ending. I want to see how Weiyoung rule the nation as an empress with her wits. I know its already an ending because shes already the empress but somehow I crave more for her witty comeback.
the story is good but they seem to have made a mistake when they got the hero. She is not a good actress she is very boring to act priodt.what I see in this story is that she will take revenge but she doesn't seem to be acting.so sad
I must say it's one of the best drama in recent years. Each plot moves on quickly without being drag out over several episodes. Every characters, the good and the bad, played their part extremely well. To bad there weren't a better ending.

violet cousin I believe some parts of this drama is based on real events. For example, most of the characters are based off of real people. Li Wei Young and Touba Jun are based off real people in Chinese history. So is Touba Yu.

Exactly my thoughts. Instead of dragging the sad ending by just showing Jun Suffering, they could've showed the Prince of Rouhan and princess Di getting married. The ending was way too painfully unnecessary. They could've had a better happy ending.
They should've put the antidote in a soup, like she did the poison. She only took a sip of the poison anyway. It isn't fair they went through so much to have to live without him for the rest of her life.😔

I fell in love with Vaness Wu's character here, ✨Tuoba Yu🗡️, although he's a villain. He keeps on saying fool to Jun for saving Weiyang from poison instead of himself but he, Tuoba Yu, also saves Weiyang from death too for the 3rd time; 1st from being executed, 2nd from assassination with TJ and last from being killed by changru. I was broken for him💔😭

Felix Korlos It's not real history, it's very loosely based on real history. The real xianbei dynasty forced a mother to commit suicide when her son was named crown prince. So in this case, Consort Li was forced to commit suicide when their son was 2 years old. Some other consort became empress and raised their son. Plus the real Tuobo Jun was 12 when he became emperor and their son was born when he was 14, meaning Consort Li died/was killed when Tuobo Jun was 16 - long before he died at age 25. So if they're going to change everything else about the story (which I'm fine with, it's just for entertainment), then they could change it to a happily-ever-after ending as well.
Just finished watching it here some days ago and now it's on fucking netflix. I started screaming and crying because I was angry and happy at the same time. I guess I have to rewatch it on Netflix and cry again

Thank you to production team and cast for this drama! Some great acting from all especially Vanness who nailed the part of Prince Nan An. I think it’s more demanding part to act than that of TBJ. The scene by the kings death bed deserves an award. That evil smirk of satisfaction from being able to ascend the throne and fulfilling his life long wish punctuated with tears of regret and emotions from a neglected past was beautifully acted.

Re-watching for the sixth times. I can't still move-on on this series. Thankfully the main leads got married in real life. My Jinyan couple. Awesome drama, great acting especially the one playing 'li min de' was amazing, an underrated performance that deserves mention. The ending is heartbreaking but I'd rather take it than a mushy predictable one. Beautiful costumes and locations. 10/10 would recommend Thank you for the upload and the subtitles
I usually don't fall for the main guy (Always have second lead syndrome) but I really like Tuoba Jun. They're just too cute together. And I know why I always fall for the second leads. It's because he does everything to win her love while the first lead doesn't have to try so hard. And half the time the main lead will be a jerk to her (but with reasons) That just annoys me. In Princess Weiyoung though, Tuoba Jun really tries to win her over and it didn't come easy for him.
Touba Yu is also a fool. His childhood must have been very traumatic for him to develop control over his emotions and justify everything to logic that he cannot see real love even when it stares him on the face.
How ironic their destiny is. Indeed a bitter ending for Yu, Chang Ru and Chang Le. Wei Young and Jun's ending cannot be seen or consider as bad ending, because at least, they get to spend their life with each other, they were happy until Jun's very last breath.

I watched up to Episode 54 unsubbed and still had feels all over. I had those happy & giddy feels during romantic moments, I was crying my heart out. I don't even understand most but that's how effective and great the actors/actresses were. Shout out to Luo Jin & Tang Yan for their amazing chemistry & great portrayal! ~~ This drama is one of the best Chinese historical dramas for me and.... I just learned that Tang Yan & Luo Jin are dating for REAL! Well, their chemistry is LIT. It reflects through the drama. Can't wait for them to get married (SHIPPER HERE!!), hopefully they'll have a traditional-themed wedding. Imagine them in Princess Weiyoung outfits getting married. Bless these two and congratulations to the rest of the team.
I thought watching for the second time will prevent me of crying again. I cryed even more 😭. To my thinking this the best Chinese daram I have ever watched. The two leads owe their viewer another historical drama with 100% happy ending. Both their performances are truly admirable stunning, realistic and heart touching.

This show had a powerful beginning and ending and I truly appreciated it, despite it might , given grey hairs , from stressing me out so much.

I’m not ashamed to say I ugly cried throughout this entire episode. Usually I’m good with not crying during movies and tv shows ( unless an animal is involved because if so all bets are off imma cry hard if an animal is hurt) but this show really got me. Such a beautiful tragic love story

When they were still working on their 4th DramaSeries "THE PRINCESS WEIYOUNG " before the end of 2015.. And they announced their relationship on Tiffany's 33rd Birthday in December 6, 2016.and while THE PRINCESS WEIYOUNG was aired at time..and They Got married after their 5th Drama series "THE WAY WE WERE " in 2018, They were merried in Vienna Austria on October 28 2018..and Tiffany gave birth to a baby girl in early year of 2020..
it's been like 2 years since i've seen princess weiyoung and everytime i see this episode i just start crying my eyes out. like this episode is so poetic and sad!!! this is one of my favorite chinese dramas and the entire show had me captivated.

And then when they finally could be together, he didn't have that much time left to spend with her. And she she's straddled with the responsibility of the country(or province? i really have no idea what's it called in english) whle bringing up her son by being the only parent in his life. she went through wayyyy too much.
Edushi Mokuwa this is actually based on a novel but it's reenacted differently in the novel Wei Young is the empress of tuoba jun but he marries Cheng Le and demotes Wei Yang and places her in the cold chamber(?)for Cheng Le Wei Youngs son is older but couldn't be crown Prince cause of Cheng Les son...Wei Young swears to seek revenge if she has the chance...and something happened and she got back in time...to where she was 13 yrs old...but this time Wei Young is no longer vulnerable...she defends herself and swears not to enter the palace...she even do tricks to her "mother" and "sisters" she is a whole different Wei Young...(don't wanna give u too much spoilers lol that is just the beginning)
Ohhh yeah, I heard about that. But i guess the directors decidded that kind of plot probably wouldn't be as appealing as the conquest for love that was actually portrayed in the actual drama. but the novel definitely made weiyoung's life so much more harder since there, tuo bajun was pretty much a bastard.

I was just researching some of the names in this series and a lot of this drama is actually based on true history-they got many details correct-so, in a way it is a bit of a history lesson as well with what was happening geopolitically at that time. The romance dialogue between the two is very well done. Even though the constant framing in the plot seemed a bit overdone and there were a few far fetched or cheesy scenarios -This art really is a beautiful gem and insight in to ancient Chinese culture. You can not help but fall in love with the characters and admire Chinese ancient culture. I really love it!

Basic English Summary:
1. Weiyoung learns that there is only one antidote.
2. Changru discovers the secret tunnel and attempts to assassinate Weiyoung. Tuoba Yu protects Weiyoung an dies (guess he is good for something). Tuoba Yu says that nothing matters anymore - if he can't have the world, he'd rather die. Yu then tells Changru sorry and dies. Changru then commits suicide (as much as I hated her character, I have to applaud her devotion... wait... but what happens to the kid?)
3. Doctor says that he can't cure the prison, but only can temporary suppress it - Jun has from 5-10 years to live. Jun is already really happy with the extra time.
4. Official Wedding (finally!)
5. They talk about never giving up on each other and how they have finally reached this point and are together.
6. Minde feels happy for Weiyoung. The servant runs up to Minde and acts frantic saying something about the Princess. He runs back and freaks out/breaks down. The princess is actually awake XD - they promise too get married. Awww the princess is still counting the kisses (it's at 101 now btw)
7. Weiyoung's family comes to visit - Jun has kingly duties though and has to attend to courtly matters.
8. Jun's dad's name is finally cleared - he is posthumously declared as a king
9. Weiyoung her "mom" and "grandmother" rise in rank.
10. Changle is visited one final time by Jun - she is to become a peasant. She finally admits to killing Jun's mother. Changle is offered poisoned wine as a alternative to becoming a peasent (she wants him to personally kill her - but he says she is not worth personally killing...(ouch... burn). She chooses death.
11. Juntao and Chende - they got married XD Juntao: "can't you walk faster >:(" Chende: "slow down, slow down (slips ) can't you act more like a girl D:" Juntao: (Glares) Chende: ":D girl, every much like a girl..."
12. Poison is acting back up again. Weiyoung brings in their son (awwww so cute). He has learned to write his own name. Jun then teaches Weiyoung how to write better (cause her words are supposedly ugly XD). Jun tries to hid the poison from Weiyoung, but she knows... Weiyoung then claims she was pretending not to know how to write well so that Jun can teach her forever (she was joking).
13. Tuoba Jun is reaching the end of his life - doctor says there is no way to suppress it anymore. The doctor tells him that it was a pity he didn't take the antidote himself rather than give it to the queen - he could have made the kingdom even more glorious. Tuoba Jun replies that if there was no Weiyoung, the kingdom would have no meaning to him. He doesn't want her to know this, but she overhears. Jun is talking about how he regrets that they won't be able to grow old together and that he won't see their son grow up... etc.
14. Weiyoung and Tuoba Jun plant even more flowers - the lanterns that WY drew and Jun made are hung up in their favorite spot among the flowers. They play a duet on the "qin". Jun is reciting a song/poem about how couples stay together forever. He then dies TT_TT
15. Weiyoung finishes the poem/song which goes that they will be together in death (at least that's what I think it translates too - please correct me if I'm wrong XD )
16. Weiyoung and Jun's kid is now king, but because he is too young to rule, it is most likely that Weiyoung will rule as regent in his place. Tuoba Jun's last lines "Weiyoung, I can't protect you anymore. You must be strong. Please take care of the Kingdom of Wei. Please take care of our family too." Weiyoung: "Tuoba Jun. I will use everything protect the Kingdom of Wei, protect our family. I will take your love and live on. I will let you see a strong/beautiful/prosperous kingdom"

well done. I have really been entertained that it took me only three days to complete all the episodes. it was associated with an obsession that I couldn't stop watching. Li weiyoung, I admire your character, this is not only acting but the real you, the prince of Gaoyong, are a nice person and a lovely.
then there are these two silent killers Nan Ann and chang ru. and sure such people are in our society. I REALLY LOVE THIS DRAMA. So educative. FROM UGANDA
I find myself rewatching this series, from the lead actors/actress to the entire cast. Although it was premiered several years ago, my opinion is one of the best series costume Cdrama portraying one of Chinese dynasty’s. I must say it's one of the best drama in recent years. Each plot moves on quickly without being drag out over several episodes. Every characters, the good and the bad, played their part extremely well. To bad there weren't a better ending.

有时候问题只是出于演员声线和角色不符 或者因为演员来自两岸三地
直接配音比较统一 配音可比现场收音成本少了很多 而且耗时也大大减少
不过不排除有的台词功底不过关 但这剧里面的人其实也没有很差
配音挺顺耳 何必再纠结演员呢 总比看脸和声音配不上好吧

100th comment! I hope they make season 2 or just 1 more episode about Wei young' son growing up with another girl with another generations. It's really upsetting seeing him die.. But I keep on thinking, this isn't real life, calm down. They are good couples! :)

Felix Korlos It's not real history, it's very loosely based on real history. The real xianbei dynasty forced a mother to commit suicide when her son was named crown prince. So in this case, Consort Li was forced to commit suicide when their son was 2 years old. Some other consort became empress and raised their son. Plus the real Tuobo Jun was 12 when he became emperor and their son was born when he was 14, meaning Consort Li died/was killed when Tuobo Jun was 16 - long before he died at age 25. So if they're going to change everything else about the story (which I'm fine with, it's just for entertainment), then they could change it to a happily-ever-after ending as well.

Just watched this drama for the 4 th time. It will remain my favourite with the great storyline,great sets and the incredibly gifted and memorable cast. Thanks so much for this awesome piece of film. The ending has me full of tears❤❤

Thank you to production team and cast for this drama! Some great acting from all especially Vanness who nailed the part of Prince Nan An. I think it’s more demanding part to act than that of TBJ. The scene by the kings death bed deserves an award. That evil smirk of satisfaction from being able to ascend the throne and fulfilling his life long wish punctuated with tears of regret and emotions from a neglected past was beautifully acted.
*What im proud of Prince Nan An he did something for weiyoung that made him had genuine happiness saving his beloved, Too bad tho.*

Re-watching for the sixth times. I can't still move-on on this series. Thankfully the main leads got married in real life. My Jinyan couple. I can say that, the tears I poured while watching Princess Weiyoung was worth it. 😍❤ awesome drama. This is Favorite Chinese drama. Love Papa Lou and Mommy Tang 😊
Awesome drama, great acting especially the one playing 'li min de' was amazing, an underrated performance that deserves mention. The ending is heartbreaking but I'd rather take it than a mushy predictable one. Beautiful costumes and locations. 10/10 would recommend

I usually don't fall for the main guy (Always have second lead syndrome) but I really like Tuoba Jun. They're just too cute together. And I know why I always fall for the second leads. It's because he does everything to win her love while the first lead doesn't have to try so hard. And half the time the main lead will be a jerk to her (but with reasons) That just annoys me. In Princess Weiyoung though, Tuoba Jun really tries to win her over and it didn't come easy for him.

How ironic their destiny is. Indeed a bitter ending for Yu, Chang Ru and Chang Le. Wei Young and Jun's ending cannot be seen or consider as bad ending, because at least, they get to spend their life with each other, they were happy until Jun's very last breath.

I watched up to Episode 54 unsubbed and still had feels all over. I had those happy & giddy feels during romantic moments, I was crying my heart out. I don't even understand most but that's how effective and great the actors/actresses were.

I just learned that Tang Yan & Luo Jin are dating for REAL! Well, their chemistry is LIT. It reflects through the drama. Can't wait for them to get married (SHIPPER HERE!!), hopefully they'll have a traditional-themed wedding. Imagine them in Princess Weiyoung outfits getting married. Bless these two and congratulations to the rest of the team.
