Beautiful hotel Paul, it looks like a lot of care goes into it's upkeep, pretty hanging baskets always give a pleasant feeling and lovely staff a blessing! Oh my the staircase is grand and opulent, I loved the ornate spindles and it's stylish design, the chandeliers and decor set it off elegantly. Room was lovely, comfy and smart, the ensuite good. Price excellent for two, I am thinking of visiting Scarborough and I would love to stay here, gorgeous building. Many thanks for reviewing 😊
Love the staircase, but the carpet and wallpaper clash, in the various rooms, lol ! love the pool area, your room is ok, but weird how they have used 2 singles ,overall thats not good, furniture old, and britannia hotels seem to buy old classic hotels that were very grand i there day, and run them down with basic maintenance, but this one looks ok, and plenty choice with the food, the price was also good for two people. Thanks for sharing Paul 😊
Really enjoying these Scarborough hotel vlogs. The victorian architecture is so amazing & shows Britain in its hey day - sad how the mighty has fallen now but still so lovely to see. Watched you doing your lives in the horrible weather & you were also having lots of problem with your signal/ recording but thank you as the hotels are really worth seeing & visiting ❤
Really enjoy these reviews of classic British seaside hotels so nostalgic and magical. I know you have a review coming up of the Servigroup Rialto which are looking forward to as we had a great time there 6 weeks ago. Also wondered where you have any plans to review the famous Don Pancho in Benidorm anytime, we’ve always wanted to go but always assumed it would be slightly out of our price range, but we’ve been so surprised recently by how affordable it actually is and we’re booked for next July . Would love to know what you think. Keep up the amazing work and it’s greatly appreciated. Best wishes Nigel and Nona (Bristol)
Lovely, historic hotel. Loved the communal areas - stunning staircase - although some of the carpets were somewhat migraine inducing 😅 Great video, as always. You always give a fair, balanced appraisal and give credit where it’s due. It sounds like the staff at The Royal were indeed a credit to their employers. Thanks for the fab content, Paul!
What a stunning hotel !! Not many like that in Australia !! The room was basic but very clean - the seagulls sounded lovely . Such a big building must need lots of cleaning staff .
Aww what a beautiful hotel I love the fact it's very old I think it gives the place an air of mystery will definitely book a stay there loved the video ❤
Hi Paul, it's been raining here all day in North Wales (15/8/24), so had a day looking at your many reviews which I found very informative and entertaining. I have stayed in the hotel opposite The Royal (which was lovely} I was put off booking the Royal as it is owned by Britannia. However, after seeing your review, I think I'll give it a go! Keep up the good work
Another great review Paul! Best of the Britannia hotels by some margin. Public areas very impressive - except for the hideous carpeting! Breakfast looked pretty awful, but standard for Britannia.
Evenin nice to see a clean kettle 😊 it looks nice and clean your room awesome staircase where I work it’s 11 check out and 3 checkin 41 quid each is pretty good shame about the weather till the next one 😊
I can remember this hotel years ago when it was where the Conference Ball was held when I was in Scarborough at a national conference. One disadvantage for me is that it does not have its own car park, and parking is probably expensive in that area. It was good value for the room and breakfast. Thanks for reviewing.
Hi Paul really enjoy your vlogs and gives me great ideas for holidays and hotels! You should do a victory dance every time you find a USB port and bible! 😉
HI PAUL what a lovely hotel and it does need a bit of upkeep it is an old BUILDING and the room was lovely and clean and you are right about the floorboards in every Britannia hotel and you can tell they are doing a lot of work done to it which is great and the bathroom looked great to and clean and tidy I really like the look of these hotels and you can tell BRITANNIA are making there hotels better and the staircase looks amazing to what a wonderful hotel and the GRAND HOTEL IS GREAT TO and this one is my Favourite now when I come to SCARBOROUGH THANKS PAUL EXCELLENT VIDEO TAKE CARE FROM KEITH😀
Nice hotel Paul and a good honest review. I'm going to Scarborough for the first time next Friday and would like to ask you what I should do/what I should check out.
Great video Paul, as always. What a spectacular and beautiful, old victorian hotel. As you say, the room was very dated but a good size. It's nice to see that these beautiful old buildings are being maintained. 😀👍
Good size bed, but the bed is too big for the headboard…hence not been able to open the wardrobe properly. The bathrooms massive! The fan sounds lije you’ve got an insect in the room! 😂. Who’s the bloke playing the saxophone on the picture?! 😊. The staircase and chandelier look amazing! 😍
It's a shame the hotel didn't provide earplugs so you weren't kept awake by the bird's. Overall the hotel is good, I think some people complain over nothing.
I see nothing wrong with the place for the money I don't think anyone can complain after all it's Scarbados not San Tropez I would be happy to stay there and I'm sure a lot of families with children would as well. I think they should do a winter special in November a seagull cull I'm sure it would be very popular.
Read another review of the Royal Scarborough recently which was quite positive! Perhaps Britannia is upping Its game (it couldn’t really go any further down)
Have to laugh Paul me and my husband stayed at the loyal got all changed to use the pool so looking forward to it went down no heating it had broke we got our money back tho xx

Another hotel that we walked past! Thank you for showing us around the Royal Hotel in Scarborough, Paul. 😊

Nice hotel for the money Paul and the grub looked OK 👍
Not bad for an old hotel, breakfast looked nice. Good staff always make a difference. Nice 1 Paul :)
They do maintain the public areas well in these great breath taking victorian and edwardian hotels. Truly stunning Paul. 😊❤

What a beautiful old hotel. I wouldn't mind staying indoors there all day due to the rain. Sounded very nice indeed!
The noise sounded like dial-up internet....which wouldn't surprise me lol
Room did look dated but it was fine breakfast looked OK checkout was bit naughty couldn't fault the price Paul thanks for sharing 👍 ❤❤

Haha, that fan sounded like an electric razor, for a couple of seconds I thought you were having a quick shave as you showed us around 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I've stayed in The Brittania Hotel in Manchester city centre and it was spotless throughout. No creaking floorboards as well.😀
*PLus....They offer a later check out of 1.00pm! It's very grand!
Looks a lovely hotel ,love the Victorian features 🎉

My nephew had his wedding reception there several years ago when it was owned by white Rose hotels it was much better then
It's a shame the hotel didn't provide earplugs so you weren't kept awake by the bird's. Overall the hotel is good, I think some people complain over nothing.
You should try the Horizon in Brighton, they ripped us off and was a right dump but that was over 2 years ago. Be interested on your take.

Not got me Paul but good video ❤
Looks alright for a Britannia - and you won't have any passport dramas in Scarborough!
Hi paul hotel not too bad seen lots worse around the uk
Reminds me of Pontins
What about the parking please
Theres no parking at the hotel, private car parks close by
Do they have on site disabled parking Paul ?.
The hotel itself doesn't have parking but there are chargeable car parks close by
Your doing more miles than Alan wicker lol😂
OMG this isn’t a modern motel room let alone a hotel room
Another hotel ruined by Britannia
God that was boring
Thanks for watching
