Just received my J3 , wow …such a marvellous piece . Just to say thank you for the effort and down to earth approach to making us feel comfortable swapping op amps . Dare anyone to find a more accessible guide on working with a companies products . Watch all the pro’s (Rachel) helpful hints and info . Then again this how this company works . They always seem to understand us buyer . From the first order to end shipping . And we’re not even mentioning the great sound .
@@jd2plus2 this was so unbelievably kind, thank you so much! We’re so happy you love your J3 and enjoyed the process of purchase as well. Thank you so much for your support and kindness. I hope you have a great weekend and happy listening to your new J3!!!
If every company would follow your business model, this world would be sooo much better. You all have got me back in the hobby. The ability to interact with the people producing and building these quality products is second-to-none. Thank you for the great electronics and you’ve got a lifelong customer here.✌️
Thank you so much, this so so kind… wow! Thank you!!!
As a teacher, I have to say that this is the best tutorial for amp rolling I've seen yet. Thanks, Rachel.
This means so much, thank you so much!
@RachelGeshelli You do a wonderful job, and at the same time, your great personality shines through it all. Thank you. And thanks to your equally wonderful family.
@@JimmShaffer-vr9wu thank you so much for your kind words, I appreciate it so much!!
Excellent video!! I have the Sparkos Op Amps in my J2S DAC (AK4499) and Archel 3 Pro Amp (Zebra wood stack) and the Sparkos are definitely working some magic. I highly recommend upgrading to the Sparkos Op amps if you don't have them in your DAC or Amp
Thank you! So glad you’re loving your stack and Zebra wood is such a good choice! Sparkos op amps are a great choice, I love them as well! Glad you’re enjoying the Archel 3 Pro as well, it is my favorite product we have but a may be biased as of why.. hahaha
@@RachelGeshelli I understand lol. The Archel 3 Pro is outstanding. But I'm still looking forward to getting the Erish 3 is it? The all Balanced XLR amp. You should do a video segment where you explain who each Geshelli product is named after. Keep up the good Work!
Great Video! New video idea explain the sonic difference between the op amps.
Thank you! I would love to make a video like that! I’ll add it to the list!
Excellent suggestion!!!
Essentially, they sound a bit different because they have different bandwidths (frequency response) and, depending on the feedback used, could have lower THD. Increased feedback to lower THD does not come without negatives, such as transient distortions, or time domain distortions.
Great video Rachel. I just received my J2S AKM 4499 yesterday and ordered with the stock opamps so that I could swap later and compare the sound. Your video does a great job of demonstrating the process. Thank you.
That’s awesome how easy it is to access everything and swap.
Thank you and yes! Super easy!
Thank you Rachel. Nice video. You are very funny. Thx.
Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorial. Would love to see a behind the scenes on how the wood cases are made, not to mention the aluminum cases. Do you extrude your own aluminum? What is the best way to get custom colors? Keep up the good work!
You are welcome! I’ll put that on the list of videos to make definitely! The best way to get a custom color case is to email in info@geshelli.com and my mom will work with you! Thank you!
Thanks, just ordered a wood 4499 version today.
You’re welcome!! That’s awesome, Can’t wait to make it and get it out to you!
I don't even own the DAC, but this was well explained enough I feel I could do the swap. I'm just curious about audio gear, otherwise I'm not sure what put this in my recommended. The RUclips recommendation algorithm is funny like that. (Sounds like this is a small family business, how cool is that? Glad to hear small companies are still making it in the audio business in this day and age. I will have to consider your company if/when I am in the market for new audio gear.) Best to you folks.
Thank you so much! Yes small family company based out of Melbourne Florida! We manufacture everything in house ourselves! My mom is CEO and powder coated, step dad designs all our products, my brother sister in law and myself run manufacturing, my grandpa Joe makes our wooden cases, and we have two family friends who do shipping and customer service as well! Truly family owned and operated! Thank you for taking the time to comment and be kind! I hope you have a great day!
Can I just say that of all the exhibitors at AXPONA, Geshelli labs was probably the best experience I had. I wish you well with this channel!
Thank you so much, it means the absolute world to us!!
Rachel, great information and demonstration of how to swamp in and out the op amps. Sherri, keep these videos going!
Thank you!!! Yes, please tell her! Hahaha
So I definitely broke one of my OPA op amps. One of pins snapped off during removal. I realize the feet on the wooden boxes are screw on feet but I think something similar on the aluminum box would be nicer than just the rubber bumper feet. I love my J2S with the AKM 4499 and Sparkos SS2590 on all outputs.
Thank you for the tutorial. Now I know. Have a great day.
You’re welcome! Thank you, I hope you have a great day as well!
Saw you with Cheapaudioman and YT recommended this video shortly after. Knowledgeable and such an engaging personality, you're a good face for your family's business. Subbed. Good luck with the channel!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it and hope to bring great, fun, and informative content!
I think it's great when young people are taking the lead in Hi Fi. For the most part it's just been us old guys. I worked on office machines for 40 years and I can tell you from experience what an op amp smells like if you put it in wrong, and the smoke color. LOL
Thank you! I absolutely love what I do and want to share it with the younger generation as well! The smoke and smell of a blown op amp and board is something you never forget…
Great job Rachel would like to see you do a video on the different sound signatures of the op amps you offer thanks and have a great day
Thank you! I’ll add that to my video list ideas! Thank you and have a great day too!
The video has such a fine vibe and very informative. The who crew is just so fun at the shows. Always enjoyed interacting with all of you guys. Bravo .
Thank you so much and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for your kind words!
I love this company! Great products, family owned and reasonably priced, that’s the trifecta in my book!
Thank you!! We love our supporters!
Hi Rachel, nice job on this one! My next J2 will be socketed so this will be very helpful. Keep em coming!!!
Hi! Thank you so much! I hope this video helps for your next purchase!
Great Video, the more Tech the Better all the way to Basic Hook ups on different Equipment because their are still Beginners!
All of the information you can spread will Earn your Geshelli Family even More LOYALTY! Keep up the Great work.
Otherwise we will Send Crazy Lenny over there!!!
Thank you!! My goal is to get everything out I can think of to help and teach people as we all start somewhere! I will do my best to keep it up! Hahahaha
Thanks for the instructional video. I really appreciate the tip on where to push (and not to push) to avoid damage to the buttons.
You’re welcome! So glad it was helpful :)
This is Sooooo cool... now I think I'm ready to take the plunge! Let's get Rach to 1k subs today!!!
I would absolutely love to get to 1k!!
Can't wait to you see you all again at CAF this year! It's always fun hanging out
We can’t wait either!
Love My Geshelli DAC, Am eventually planning on upgrading the opamp.
Awesome, so glad you’re loving it! Happy listening!
Definitely recommended. I had upgraded to the 3602s first, and then much later to the 2590 Pros. Amazing difference with each upgrade. You'll be all smiles. Good luck.
@@Artemis_Prix which geshelli do you have? im thinking of getting the J2s with the 4499 and use the 2590. But i'm not sure how the 2590 would fit, heard there's a bigger sized housing for the J2s for such occasions
@phrocasso5906 You can also buy the J3 Pro and you'd be all set to go!
@@Artemis_Prix I may just go that route, appreciate the info. I already ordered the pair of ss2590s. Assembled with the riser. Thinking of getting klipsch towers and I'll be set. I wonder if geshelli does anything on black Friday
A wonderful instructional video, Rachel. Very helpful and much appreciated. Stay well and all the best.
Thank you!! You as well :)
Great video... i would have had no CLUE how to do this without your video
Thank you! Hope this helps everyone!
Hello i have been interested in your company for awhile however im a bit new to the DAC game, could you make a educational video on exactly what a op amp is and why i would want to change them. Thanks in advance. also i like how you can mix and match and custom design the dacs w/ the colors and such on your website. I think i saw in one of your videos you said it was a family bussiness and your mom did some of the paintings on the aluminum bodies. if so they look cool.
Awesome video! Keep these coming!
Thank you!
ConvinceMeAudio nice work, keep these types of vids coming
Thank you!
I might buy a setup from you soon, hope it will complement my Sash Tres SE well. first I'll get the Archel 3 pro by itself and later the J2 with sparkos opamps for RCA.
The difference between the RCA and XLR is simply that a different connection is used, right? I'd only get the RCA option because I'm on a semi tight budget.
Thanks for your great work, looking forward to trying these devices out soon :) (not looking forward to paying customs fees lol..)
@@PinePizza hello! Yes all you would need is to purchase the sparkos on the RCA if that is what you are using! Thank you for the kind words and hope you enjoy our products as much as we do! Love to hear you are looking into purchasing the Archel 3, that is the product named after me!! Woohoo!!
Off subject, but can you leave your J2S "ON" all the time? Or do you recommend turning it off after a listening session? Just curious if it has some type of "stand by" mode. Good video.
Hi! Yes you can leave your J2 or J2S on all the time, it will not affect anything! Thank you!
@@RachelGeshelli awesome.
I feel like it will affect the longevity of the dac if it’s left on all the time but hopefully I’m wrong. I’d rather leave it on because of the lack of remote.
@@Elboogs nope, it will not affect the longevity! Mine I have at home has been left on for years!
Wondering what changing the op amps does to the manufacturers warranty.
In either of these (J2 or J2S) dac modules, you provide 1 x AKM4493 chipset (or) 2 nos. x AKM4493 chipset.....pls clarify.
Where can I find out the sonic differences in op amps? I know how to swap them but what is the sound difference?
If I get a J2S with the 4493, is it possible to switch that out later for the 4499?
All the Likes and Subs .. & Im going to share this too.
also .. Nice to see all the AKM chips =)
Thank you!!!
i have socket dac. just looking to upgrade the unbalanced side at the moment. noticed that burson offers a dual and a single opamp. which is needed for the unbalanced side and is the extender needed?
@@hideyamaguchi8196 for the J series dacs you will need dual op amps! My latest video shows exactly what op amps go in each DAC! Hope this helps!
Could the rag introduce static electricity to the chips and due damage?
Hi! No, we use microfibers for everything from cleaning the boards, pushing down op amps, cleaning plexiglass, etc!
Question: So I see she installed three different op amps. Was this just for video illustration or is it common practice to use different op amps on the same board?
That was just for the video to show how to put each different op amp in. You can use 2 of the same op amps for the XLR and different on the RCA if you wanted! Common example would be opa 1656 on the xlr and sparkos or burson on the rca.
Hey, can I do e same for e Erish2? Thks :)
The E2 doesn't have socketed op amps but the new E3 does come standard with the sparkos 2590's if you wanted upgraded op amps!
Sub 969 right here 🎉
Woohoo!
Menta Neng Aa hiji
why don't u tell dem to used a hand screwdriver instead of a hand drill OK?
Volume is too low
Turn it up more 😋
