"Eyes on the side are there to hide, eyes on the front are there to hunt." I feel dumb for not knowing that but it just seems so obvious now.
watching this made me feel really nostalgic, because I remember really loving going to these types of things when I was young. It kind of made me feel like a little kid again.
I miss getting to talk about animals, I used to work at a nature center and during camps and we would educate about reptiles like snakes, turtles, and even alligators. I really loved showing the kids the different animals and answering their questions about them. My favorite part is when their parents would come to pick them up from camp and they would start going on and on about everything they learned. Educating people about animals is really rewarding and fun :)
3:55 the "round of applouse" is so cute
Raymond Smith My favorite part.
I am 71, and its a treat to be a kid again, learning about amazing animals at the zoo. Thanks Augusta for all the back up work you do too!
Presentations are Jessi's caffeine, aren't they? ^_~
I just submitted an application for an animal ambassador internship at a zoo this summer! Thank you for maintaining this wonderful channel, it really inspires me with every new video you make.
Great show from the whole team, and the montage from 4:40-4:55 was cinemagic. Hats of to Matt Gaydos as director for that sequence. This show really demonstrates why you're all worth supporting on Patreon. Hope to see you at VidCon!
juststeveschannel Matt did sooo good! Thanks for giving him the kudos! And thank you for your support, I do hope to see you at Vidcon!
I think a big part of doing something you love for a living is finding a partner who shares your passion. It's so great to see people working together for something they love.
This is both precious and amazing. Jessi, you, Augusto and the rest of Animal Wonders do incredible work.
That was amazing! So much energy from Jessie! You are surely the best person for the job!
I cried. Thank you for this amazing job!
You're such an engaging speaker Jessi, I love it.
Just knowing there are people like you out there teaching our youth about these animals makes me so happy! Thanks for all that you do!
You did NOT forget to be AWESOME in this vlog Jessi THANKYOU so much. Plus got a rare sighting of the Yowi aka Goose too! Heehee 😆 Your hard work is very appreciated - I'm living vicariously my dream job through these clips and learning heaps too 😊
You are such a fantastic presenter. I imagine it's not hard to keep kids engaged when you've got a parade of animals in front of them but you're use of language is really engaging as well. You do such incredible work!
I love that you do things like this, you really spread a positive message about animals and inform little kids about how AMAZING these creatures are. Keep up the good work!
You have an amaizing job! You get to work with animals and kids. Must be so rewarding.
Yes! I wish they did this more in my country as well. Keep on educating and inspiring the next generation!
I love how you teach them to approach animals scientifically, to ask why instead of just taking a characteristic for granted. That's the real takeaway from your classes, that and hopefully a renewed love of animals.
Jessi, you're such an amazing teacher. Those kids looked like they were really into the show and having fun :-)
this was so much fun to watch! you're amazing with those kids.
Jessi is so good at presenting to the kids, it's magical to watch :)
It's GREAT to see what you both do when you're not cleaning, training, and making videos! I would have been absolutely inspired by this sort of presentation as a child...and I still am. :)
This video was a trip down memory lane for me there was a place very much like animal wonders near were i grew [how near i do not know] that did presentations at my elementary school and it was awesome. I got to help hold [if i remember right] a boa constrictor that was so big it took i think 5 of us kids to support it's body, and i got to touch a small alligator. there were a lot of dangerous but fun animals and learning about them was amazing.
Thank you for sharing this! It is inspiring how passionate you are about animals, Jessi! You are an excellent speaker, and I'm so glad Animal Wonders exists to share animal education with the public!
This video is magic. Thank you, AW
This is amazing. I am so happy that so many kids get to enjoy your shows.
I've been watching your videos since the very beginning. This was favorite so far because it showed the final purpose of your endeavor. I really enjoyed watching the excitement on the children's faces and the and how involved they were in your presentation. I would love to see more videos like this.
GREAT JOB !!! THATS THE KIND OF EDUCATION KIDS SHOULD HAVE !!! THERE'S HOPE ❤
The rhyme at 2:27 of "Eyes on the side, meant to hide. Eyes in front, meant to hunt" was so interesting!
This is so sweet and awesome! I'm so glad those kids got to hear you :)
Excellent control of your animals in public. I've seen many of your videos but it's great to see the public presentations.
I loved this video! When I was much younger I got to experience a couple similar presentations from other wildlife rehabilitation organizations, and they're some of my clearest and favorite memories.
She's a very good presenter
I loved sharing this and your other videos with my granddaughter and friends.
First time i am watching your channel, wonderful and great job
So cool to watch! I remember going to these kinds of shows when I was younger!
Thank you for sharing this. Now we know what one of your presentations looks like!
Absolutely wonderful! I'd LOVE to see more footage of the presentations you do! Also I gotta say your way of presenting is absolutely wonderful, you seem pretty natural engaging that audience :)
Dear 6 year old me, don't worry. You still love animals when you grow up. Although sadly, Jeff Corwin doesn't have anymore shows.
Great video! I loved it! Looks like an amazing day out. Keep up the great work!
Just started watching Animal Wonders in 2021. This was a great video.
Loved this style of video, and would love to see more.
Super awesome to see a live presentation!!
That was a fantastic live performance! I did an internship at a zoo for a year and your presentation was really up there!
***** Thank you!
I very much enjoined a video of you guys out in the world showing off the ambassadors!!!
aw i remember when similar programs would come to my school when i was younger. it was always one of my favorite parts of the year!
What a great show! I would love to have had a show like that come to my school when I was in school!
My library's summer reading program is themed around heroes too! If only we could also have that cool show.
You've created a lovely job, congrats you really make a difference!
That's awesome. I wish someone like you guys had been around when I was in school. :)
I just learned something new! Eyes on the side, meant to hide... Eyes on the front, meant to hunt!
Wow! Your guys are amazing! I bet it’s so much fun to do that with kids
I've found my favorite AWM video! So amazing!!
This was the experience my friends never had. Great Job!
wonderful. amazing to hear your outside voice :)
I would love to see him full length public presentations. If you could film and upload that I would just love it
Great work, thank you for this!
Awesome job Jessi and Augusto, I want to see some stuff about the logistics of moving and getting the animals to and from the sanctuary. Do you guys have an Animal Wonders Mobile? How stressed does a show like this make the animals? Who else is involved behind the scenes to make something like this happen? Etc...
Jay Gfeller I'm glad you asked! There is no one behind the scenes except Augusto and I and sometimes an intern or volunteer. It takes patience, observation, understanding, and training to teach an animal to be comfortable traveling and being in front of a live audience. I think our ambassadors are pretty amazing for being able to do what they do. They impress me every day.
One of the reasons it can take awhile for an animal to go from being rescued to becoming a traveling ambassador is because sometimes it takes time to get them comfortable with the traveling and presenting process. We work at the animals' pace and make the crate a calm and safe place to be. Depending on the animal and how they react to the experience, sometimes the first step toward being in a show is to travel to a show and stay in the crate. That way they can hear and smell the situation before being put on the spot. The process is different for each of them because they are all individuals. But we always use positive reinforcement so they associate traveling and shows with good happy feelings. And it's a great way to enrich their lives :)
This is too adorable for my heart.
That is a fantastic program.!
You were outstanding with the kids. Great video!
So cute...😉...outreach education is the Sin! Nice presentation.
Such great work that you do!! :)
I used to do educational events with the Arizona Herpetological Association, they were much like your event. My knees and back just don't allow it anymore. Well done, Jessie, you had their attention every moment. Are you in Helena? I have family there.
I'm at a loss of words. Amazing doesn't quite cut it.
This is so cute, I wish there were events like this one that I could have attended when I was a child
Those kids are so lucky to be at that presentation
Awesome great presentations! I was there!
You are an amazing human Jessi
This is such a lovely thing to do.
If I had the means I'd totally support you on Patreon, keep doing an awesome job!
This made me so happy :)
You're doing such a great job!!
It's simply amazing!
Great video! I'd be interested in seeing a bts of packing up and going to a show.
***** Also how the rest of it works, what kind of people and organisations contact you about giving a show, do you offer them yourself, are there places you wont do them, etc.
I did zoo to you today in my school, Animals so cute!
Great episode. Would have loved to hear some of the kids questions. Must have extended addition of this episode!
Bringing the Zoo to you: Directors cut.
Excellent presenting skills!
That looks so cool!!
Wow, all of those kids on youtube
, congratulations!
This was wonderful, letting the kids see all the animals like that! The question I have for you is how do you guys keep the animals cool in conditions like that, especially when they aren't used to the heat? Although I guess with the amount of time they've spent at Animal Wonders, they're used to it by now.
And I have another question, come to think of it. Do you have to be very selective when deciding who to bring with you for presentations as to suit the audience type?
Thanks Jessie and Augusto!
kirkygirl Most of the animals are good with temperatures into the high 80s and 90s. Those that aren't don't come to outside shows when it's that hot. All the animals get cold marble tiles to cool themselves, water or apple to keep them hydrated, and a/c when we get back into the car. Cold weather is harder on the tropical species, so they are always indoors when it's below 60. And yes, the selection process for each show is geared toward animals that will be most tolerant of certain situations and audience types.
you guys are doing a great thing :)
aawww! I want to be seven and be in that crowd. that was completely adorable and very interesting!
Im going to get a bird soon! can't wait! I wrote down some advice from you (from the parrots first day) video. And omg omg omg i cant wait!!!
You guys rock.
This is pretty great.
you guys are great
I love this woman!
Nice show
That was very cool :)
That's so cool. I was wondering do you travel with these animals to do presentations in other states????
Hey! I know it's a weird thing to complain about but I am sometimes not able to see ads on the first load and have to reload the video to see an ad and support the channel in my small way. Please check on this.
Wow, you are SUCH a good host.
Jesse is amazing.. what a good girl.. lol
Jessi - could you maybe do a tour of Animal Wonders? I'd like to see what the place looks like. :)
