This recipe worked great for me over the weekend. Multiple shoots, multiple nights, and they just kept coming back for more. I've never had them keep coming back after being shot at, but this was like crack to them. Will definitely be using this again on future hunts! Thanks!
I made it here in Hungary/Europe. I bait a totaly new spot to see how good is this receipe. First night I had a nice hog on it, he even laid down to eat! :) Then next day I had him back and plus 3 deers. The deers came every day after, but not the keiler! Maybe next time I make a deep hole for it! Happy New Year and successful hunting for everybody!!!!!!
It lasted quite a long time because they will keep coming back even after the hole is empty. They can smell the residue for a long time after it soaks into the dirt. I filled the hole twice and it kept the hogs coming back for months. I have even more pictures that aren’t in the video! Take care brother!
I do something similar. I buy a couple of 1/2 gallons of buttermilk and leave it out for a week or two to spoil. Then dig the hole and pour the corn in then pour the buttermilk on top of the corn. Cover the corn with a with thin layer of soil. They love it.
I probably would have done it in a bucket first to let the milk and root beer absorbed into the corn and let it sit for a few days and then dump it in the hole . But Ill have to try that recipe
On average how long would you say the corn lasts? I saw you mention the scent keeps em coming back, but I was just curious as I just joined a hunting club and am wondering how often I will have to refill it.
Hard to say because it depends on your hog density. It could last a day or several weeks. You could always do multiple holes and make them as deep as possible. Try to make it hard for them to get but they will still be able to smell it for a long time. Just have fun with some experiments and a trail cam! Good luck!
It’s really hard to say but if they are in the area they can pick up the scent from a long ways…my guess is probably 200yrds or more depending on wind, etc. hope that helps.
It really depends on hog activity. Keep in mind they will come back even after it’s gone because of the lingering smell. If you keep using the same hole it gets better and better.
Im gonna put this out tomorrow afternoon think they will be there the night after that? lots of hog activity in the area I hunt but cant get em to come to the feeder
Hard to say but it usually doesn’t take them long and once they do they’ll keep coming back! Be patient and you will get them to come in...just a matter of time! Good luck!
@@TheHandyHunter I took em two nights to find the hole. I've got a stealth cam so I can see when theyre there; they have been on that thing literally all night! I hope it keeps em coming till this weekend, I can't hunt this week cause I have 2 tests
Awesome!! They’ll keep coming back long after the corn is gone because they can still smell it for weeks. Good luck and shoot me some pics so I can post on our community board...steve@digitalsouth.com
Tried a couple times always went back to the corn dry and and wouldnt smell sour????? Anytips its like the ground soaked everyrhing up before the corn did
It’s ok if the ground soaks it up because it will leave residual smell for weeks. I don’t find that they need to have it sour but the milk will definitely turn sour in the ground. I’ve heard people having better luck with buttermilk over regular milk. Give that a try. Good luck!
Awesome I appreciate it I'm headed to my property right now actually noticed one of the holes I had dug originally was tossed up when i checked yesterday got me excited enough to set some more today
It really depends on hog activity but it can last a couple weeks and then even longer do to the lingering smell. You can also dig the hole deeper if you want which makes it harder to get to the bottom.
@@TheHandyHunter ok. I have hogs coming in once in a while and want them to come back so I can hunt them. So I'm looking for a option to keep them on the land
I did, slightly different and it works. I put corn in bucket and mix it with beer, after that I leave it on the sun for couple of days just mind to poke some holes cuz a bucket exploded once on me, after it starts to smell kinda strong I do similar thing just I do not dig hole, but use metal pole and hammer and make several smaler but deep holes where I pour that mixture. Wild boars smelled it first time literally 5 hours after I made it, they turned all that land around and digg like 60cm deep trench where those holes were, I repeated process once more and last summer I harvested like 6 boars at that spot, they kept coming...
That day but keep in mind that we have a lot of hogs around and they can smell this far away. Doesn’t take those scavengers long to find anything! Nice thing is you don’t have to pre-sour the corn. The milk does that for you and if you get any rain that helps too. Just a really easy way to draw hogs without a lot of work. Thanks for watching!
@@TheHandyHunter I have an old boar hog that only likes to move at night.....I'm going to try this and see if I can get him to slip up at dawn or dusk. Thanks for sharing
Awesome! Those old boars are smart and can be frustrating. Have you tried a tube caller to see if you can get him out? When u get him shoot me a pic and I will post him on our community board. Happy Thankgiving!

Man that’s great feedback! Glad it worked our for you! Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing!
Does it have to be root beer, can it be coke or Dr Pepper? Bought 50 pounds of corn today.
I like root beer but they just want something sweet so you should be fine with either. Good luck!
I used strawberry soda because it had more grams of sugar than root beer. The hogs slammed it for a month straight.
Thanks for sharing! They love sugar for sure!
I’ve never been so delighted and bewildered

Hello, where did you found root beer in Europe? Did you use something else maybe, such as strawberry juice?
Holy smokes! Looks like it was all gone within 2 days! Great video.

Can I know what kind of mixture is for pigs?
I dont understand it but im with you all the way :)
That's pretty cool, gonna have to try it on our lease 👍
Does this come turnkey with the 3' hole already dug?

Awesome! Way to go! Thanks for the update!
@@TheHandyHunter Yes sir!
Me and my dad did this except with sweet tea sugar and water. They made a gigantic crater 4-5 feet wide.
They love sugar! Keep it up!!
Was that from one application or several?
That was from one. They will keep coming even after its empty because of the smell. Good luck!
Harika bir video, kök bira yerine normal bira kullansam sonuç alabilirmiyim. Bu arada süt tazemi ç
They like root beer because it’s sweet and the milk is fresh but not for long. Its a sweet and sour snack…lol

We just pour Diesel Fuel on the Corn and catch just as many as any other bait.
That Corey Booker's family reunion???
Did I hear a queef at 1:42?
