  • Bharatmala Pariyojana is an ambitious project initiated by the Government of India to develop a network of highways and roads that will connect various parts of the country. The project aims to connect remote and economically backward areas with the mainstream economy, reduce logistics costs, and make transportation faster and more efficient. The project is estimated to cost INR 5.35 lakh crore.
The Bharatmala Pariyojana is a part of the larger National Infrastructure
Pipeline (NIP), which aims to develop and modernize India's infrastructure in sectors like energy, water, and transportation. The project was announced by the government in 2017 and has been described as the "world's largest highways construction program."
Bharatmala Pariyojana is described as the world's largest highway program. The project has a multi-modal approach, which means that it will not only develop highways and roads but also improve other modes of transportation like railways, inland waterways, and air connectivity.
Project not limited to road transport. Bharatmala project will improve rail, water and air connectivity.
The Bharatmala Pariyojana has been divided into seven phases, and the
first phase was launched in 2018. The Bharatmala Project will have seven phases. The first phase includes the development of 24,800 km of highways, including the construction of new highways, widening of existing highways, and the development of economic corridors. The economic corridors will connect major cities and industrial clusters and will have high-speed connectivity and dedicated freight corridors.
The second phase of the Bharatmala Pariyojana is expected to be launched in the near future. The second phase will focus on improving connectivity in border areas and coastal areas. The project will also include the development of highways and roads in the Northeast region, which has historically been neglected in terms of infrastructure development.
The Bharatmala Pariyojana has several benefits for India's economy. Firstly, it will improve connectivity between different parts of the country and reduce logistics costs. Bharatmala Pariyojana will improve connectivity. This will make Indian goods more competitive in the global market and boost exports. Secondly, it will create employment opportunities in the construction sector and related industries. The project is estimated to generate 14.2 crore man-days of employment.
However, the Bharatmala Pariyojana also faces several challenges. Firstly, the project requires a large amount of land acquisition, which can be a contentious issue. Land acquisition can delay the project and increase its cost. Secondly, the project may lead to environmental degradation and loss of biodiversity.
The construction of highways and roads can lead to deforestation, soil erosion, and habitat destruction. Thirdly, the project may lead to social displacement, especially of tribal and marginalized communities. The construction of highways can lead to the displacement of people from their homes and land.
To address these challenges, the government has taken several measures. Firstly, it has streamlined the land acquisition process and made it more transparent. The government has also increased compensation for land acquisition and ensured that people who are displaced are rehabilitated and compensated adequately.
Secondly, the government has taken measures to ensure that the project does not lead to environmental degradation. The government has mandated the use of green technologies in construction and has also ensured that the project adheres to environmental regulations.
Thirdly, the government has taken measures to ensure that the project does not lead to social displacement. The government has set up a grievance redressal mechanism to address the concerns of those affected by the project and has ensured that the rehabilitation and compensation process is fair and transparent.

Love the way she reports. This is what Indian news industry needs. While talking about project, you should focus on positive as well negatives which is neutral reporting.

Thanx to modiji for bharatmala road 👌👌👌🙏🙏🙏
Bahut achhi road h tym bhi kam lagta h..👌
But safe journey k liye koi aisa बीच-बीच me kuch hona chahiye jisse agar kuch इमर्जेंसी ho to help k liye police ya एम्बुलेंस ki help mangi ja sake...
Kyuki abhi kuch din pahle humne is road se raat ka safar kiya tha tb raat ko लगभग 10 baje k pas 50 -50 log grp me ghum rahe the hathiyar lekar ....bol rahe the ki aage raste me chor h yahi se wapas chale jao.... to hume apni safty ka koi bhi sadhan दूर दूर tk nahi dikha ...
So i request ki road bahut achhi h bus safty k liye kuch ho jaye to ......🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
