Anyone saying Kobe isn't overrated is in denial. Yes he was extremely talented and a top 10 player, but so many fans today (mostly gen z) will be quick to place him as a top 3 of all time, which simply isn't true. Until you face the fact that Tim Duncan was a better player than Kobe, you can't say he isn't overrated.
A super efective clickbait for a small channel. I respect the hustle. It's funny he says Kobe is overrated when nowadays he's not even mentioned in the Lebron v Jordan GOAT Convo
59 win teams? Ok who hasn’t? Which great player hasn’t faced egregious level of competition? Every great with as many rings, or close, as Kobe’s 5 went against freaky good teams. MJ, Bird, Magic, Duncan, Bron…all the greats faced monster teams 😂..no one had an easy time…ok maybe KD but he’s not on that level🤷🏿♂️
Sheesh, if Kobe overrated, then Lebron is highly overrated. He needs to be on this list. Remember there’s also context, and not just flat stats to go by. Numbers aren’t capable of explaining the full context of games and are misleading at times
eh I don't think so by the time lebron retires he will have at least 42k points rn 5 points away from 39k he will have 7k+ rebounds and assist etc lebron has the rings etc if rings truly mattered MJ would not be the greatest of all time because he does not hold the most
@@whateveryoulikeilike6475he's overrated, he can't handle, no footwork, and his only move is charging the rim for a layup plus his fg% drops below 37% outside 3 feet from the rim. *player on 1 NBA team his entire career with lots of achievements* So has Jordan, Magic, Tim Duncan, Bill Russell, Hakeem, Steph, Bird etc... Kobe is overrated.
The “1 team” argument is lame. Kobe refused to play for the Hornets. He knew there would be no success at a small market franchise. Ask them how “loyal” he is. If I forced a trade to a franchise like the Lakers, I wouldn’t leave either. Ask Lebron and Garnet where loyalty to their garbage franchises got them? At least they tried. Even Kobe threatened to force a trade when the Lakers weren’t putting together strong teams
@@suciochanch Lakers are a literal garbage franchise ever since breaking up the Shaq-Kobe teams, these Cavs teams were STACKED in comparison to these post 2004 Lakers teams
This is some Bull shiettt! Kobe Overrated? You can talk BS all you want, but I witnessed the man play his whole career. He was the best player in the league from 2003 - 2011.

@@rektz2457 no that's how lebron fans act with literally every star he's ever played with. Kobe fans love Pau gasol. He saved our legacy. Still wasn't on the list.
Kobe WAS good at basketball until he died with a group other folks in a plane crash. He was good yesterday but relative to the hype he probably the most overrated player. His mamba mentality actually hampered a lot of his teams because it meant forcing up bad low percentage shots in clutch situations which is why his career average in clutch situations is actually below league average.
So Kobe's clutch is overrated? What is Bron's? Dude has the most "clutch" shots ever but never hit one in the Finals and has come up small on the biggest stage multiple times.
kobe was carried by shaq for his first 3 rings. in his next two rings, Pau led both 09 and 10 finals in 4th quarter scoring (even though kobe is supposedly clutch). Pau also led the lakers in win shares in both 09 and 10 finals. kobe was also objectively bailed out by refs in many finals. in game 6 (kobe facing elimination) 2002 finals 4th quarter, lakers got 27 free throws to the 9 free throws by the kings, in a 4 point win. in game 7 2010 finals, lakers shot 20 more free throws in a another close 4-point win. kobe is not "clutch." stats and games show it. he shoots below average in game tying shots in both playoff and regular season games. on the biggest stage. he cost the lakers a 4-peat with his terrible performance in game 3 of the 2004 finals. he has 11 points on 30% shooting, with 4 turnovers for just 5 assists. he lost the 2008 finals for his team in game 6 (facing elimination) with 22 points on 32% shooting, 1 assist and 4 turnovers! he almost cost his team another champion with just 12 points from the field with 25% shooting. he had 2 assists with again, 4 turnovers. he was bailed out with 15 free throw attempts. as before mentioned, the lakers shot 20 more free throws that game to be bailed out. kobe had 9x all defensive first teams that he didn't deserve. even Phil Jackson called out Kobe saying he didn’t deserve defensive team selections for a long time. during his 9 first team selections, his defensive +/- was 0.26. overall, his career average defensive +/- is NEGATIVE. don't tell me stats aren't everything when stats clearly show that opposing teams scored MORE with kobe on the floor. look at someone like lebron. he has 5x all defensive first team. during those selections he had an average defensive box +/- of 2.7. his career average is 1.9. enough said, massively overrated defender. kobe never led the league in an advanced analytic one time in a 20 year career, not a single time did he lead the league in personal efficiency rating, value over replacement, box plus minus, or win shares. That’s mind blowing when you consider that: MJ, kareem, wilt, russell, james all did it over 40-50 times each & then you have players like bird, o’neal, dr. J, oscar, etc. who did it 15-20+ times through their career. and, one of the "greatest scorers ever," kobe never shot above 47% once in 20 years.
LeFlop was carried by DWade, Bosh, KLove and Kyrie too and yet he won just 3 legit rings in 22 years and counting, but yeah keep cherry picking some misleading stats like "average career defensive +/-" 🤣 If you dont see the absurdity of cherry picking stats like that just to try put down a guy who you simply don't like, then I don't know what to tell you...I myself alwasys HATED Kobe with a passion because dude was a KILER and because he played for the Lakers, that dosen't stop me from appreciating his greatness tho
I agree kobe isnt an overrated player but he didnt win 2 chips on his own. He lead that 09-10 team but had another all star in pau gasol, bynum, and great role players and a good coach. A player who couldve won a chip on his own is lebron during the 07 season. He literally did not have any good teammates

Lebron has better stats all around. Flop to much, but if referees don't call a smack to the face a foul what are you supposed to do? Kobe was great and is sad he and all the other passengers and pilot are not with us anymore. However, his numbers doesn't match the elevation he has as an NBA player. Lebron is second on most missed shots in the NBA history with 100 games more than Kobe and counting at age 38-39 on 2023 while doing more points than Kobe's avrg. pt/game , and Kobe is first on missing shots in NBA history. Lebron has better percentage and stats all around, even Curry has better stats all around. Changing teams is something Shaq, Horry, Pau, Bosh, Love, AD and many others has done to win championships another great example is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Your facts doesn't change reality of him being overrated. Great player but overrated to be in the GOAT talk.
@awesomeelk2920 Are you ok with your bias? Have you seen what every player had said about not wanting to play lebron or even wanting him to get some mishap that will not allow him to play. Also, wanting the ALLEN, PIERCE, KG Boston to win instead of Lebron for the finals. Another reason, knowing that Lebron knows what they are gonna play and only hope that the play goes through rather than the element of surprise. If that is not fear, I don't know what it is. Lebron can't and will not win a championship by himself just like anyone else in any team sport, (specially nowadays that the league has the best talent ever with records being match or broken left and right by multiple players), even though he was close to doing so in the Cavs 50-32 with L. Hughes, Barejao, Gooden, Ilgauskas, Snow, Pavlovic, Gibson, etc. against a Spurs team 58-24 with Duncan, Ginobili, Horry, Parker, Finley, Bowen, etc. during 06-07. Even Dwight had a better team in Orlando. It's not all stats.
@awesomeelk2920 I feel that by better players while watching the games, you are referring to the beautiful honed grace of movement Kobe and MJ had, making it look beautiful and appealing to watch. Yes, Kobe had a beautiful playstyle full of grace to the eye by being confident of his shots and backing it up. MJ had the same thing, Lebron is rough brute force with mid to low, beautiful playstyle, now he is creating it and still lacking that selfishness. Their playstyle can be compared to exquisite polished diamond vs. unpolished raw diamond. Both are diamonds, but one can be recognized by everyone and the other by a few people.

Kobe is only overrated when compared to MJ. yes he was not good example when it came to his attitude n scrutiny of his teammates but overrated is not the correct word maybe selfish. Reggie Miller is also not overrated Everytime this man shoot especially in the clutch moments the whole arena goes into silent he was like Steph curry especially with the deep 3s before the NBA went to exclusive offensive! Accolades and failures are ratings in of themselves. Which Kobe had many of each. The desire to be the best is what drove this man. And what he has done for the game, both domestic and international, surpasses even the great MJ. So rate the player all you want, cuz this dude was solid gold.

Number 1 should have been LeBron James. Here's the reasons: 1. His high career field goal percentage is misleading, once you look into the details. He shoots a high percentage of dunks and layups during the era of open lanes and cheap whistles. Here's a closer look at his percentages from distance: 3pt field goal percentage: 34.5% (below league average) 16ft - 3pt: 38% (below league average) 10ft - 16ft: 36% (below league average) 3ft - 10ft: 42% (below league average) 0ft - 3ft: 74% (above league average) Free Throw: 73% (below league average) To summarize, LeBron James is a below league average shooter from everywhere on the court except dunks and layups. Not just below elite shooters, but below average players. 2. LeBron's subpar clutch stats. Some pundits always deceitfully give him praise for his clutch moments, but let's take a closer look. Here's his stats of clutch shots taken in the last 5 seconds of a game according to Shot Finder: Field goals attempted: 113 Field goals made: 20 Field goal percentage in the clutch: 17% 3. If we're going to criticize Kobe for missed shots, then we also have to criticize LeBron, since he has the second most in NBA history with 13,892 and will surpass Kobe in a few months. 4. Turnovers. This is a big one, since LeBron has the most turnovers of any players by a long shot, with 5,023 and counting., and his turnover per game average of 3.5 per game is second only to Russell Westbrook
The only one player i agreed is harden other than that the list is trah. If you say kobe is Overrated that mean LeBron james is overrated because without a top 5 player on his team he wouldn't have a championship to his name he like the kid that can't be his brother in a video game so he get all the top so he have a chance to win a championship
Kobe is never overrated, he was an overachiever. He singlehandedly carried A No Name Lakers Team to two Championships wins after Shaq left. He was a winner and his legacy will endure. The number one overrated player in NBA history is none other than LeBron James the self proclaimed goat and king. First eight years of his career he never lead the Cleveland to a championship win always choked at the playoffs. He had to crawl to Miami to Wade to be taught how to become a winner two times and crawl back to Cleveland to team up with Kyrie and Love to win only one championship. Then off to Lakers one of the greatest clubs in NBA to enhance his legacy. He could only manage a Mickey Mouse title in a shortened season because of Covid 19. Do not disparaged Kobe Bryant's name the player who was brought in 2008 to Redeem United States of America's honour and standing in the World Basketball after LeBron lead 2004 Olympics and FIBAWorld Cup could only managed Bronze Medals in those two events. Yes LeBron James is the most overrated player in the NBA history. Do your research properly on Kobe Bryant before you disrespect the only player who came very close to MJ in greatness in NBA history. MJ 6/6 in Finals and Kobe Bryant 5/7 in Finals and the overrated LeBron 4/10 in Finals.
Kobe is an overachiever? ROFL 😅😅😂 that's a good one. First of all l, he wasn't even the best player on the team for 3 of his championships.(That was Shaq). Second of all, that so called "No name Lakers team" had the best front court in the league during that 3 year stretch because before Pau Gasol got there, Kobe either didn't make the playoffs or got knocked out in the first round. Also saying Kobe is the closest thing to Jordan in achievements is cap. Tim Duncan had a better career than Kobe did.

And what has Harden ever achieved? Crying off three teams? Failing repeatedly in the playoffs? Tracy McGrady was special and a level above Harden. Too bad injuries wrecked his prime
Kobe Bryant overrated as a top 4 career scorer, 12x All-Defense (9x First team), 15x All-NBA, 2x scoring champ, & 5x Champion. Overrated? If anything, he's underrated as publications just barely have him inside top 10. A few even argued that he was actually outside top 10 just recently. So, how exactly is Kobe _"overrated?"_ 🤔 It's also funny how you mentioned Kobe having most missed shots, but if y'all actually calculated missed FTs in that equation, then ya boy who people love shoving into the GOAT debate took that crown last season. In fact, he's on pace to officially hold the records for most career misses & turnovers this season to go along with those six L's ✌🏾🤣.
The fact that so many people have him as a top 3 player (aka Lakers fans or Kobe fans) makes him overrated. Some even have him as the GOAT even though there have been other players that accomplished more then he did.
Calling Kobe overrated is a big mistake, after more research you will hopefully come to another conclusion, because it is utter blasphemy. I'm not going to write a full essay, but I'll leave a few things here. 1. Kobe has the highest ever pace adjusted PPG season of all time, not even Wilt or Jordan could put points up like Kobe during his peak. Do you know what that means? That means no player ever was a more prolific scorer than Kobe at his best, nobody. 2. Kobe has the second greatest performance of all time according to the "Game score" stat, but when adjusted for pace Kobe actually has the greatest NBA performance ever (2000's were the slowest era of all time). Literally only one man (Jordan), in NBA history has an argument for having played a better game than Kobe. That is absolutely insane..... 3. Kobe has defeated more elite competition than anyone in NBA history, defeating the most 50-win squads in playoff history. 4. From 2008-2010 Kobe faced nothing but 50 wins teams in three straight finals runs except the 48-win Utah Jazz. He went to three straight finals in the most stacked conference in history. You had to win 50 games just to make the playoffs back then, Golden state won 48 games one year and didn't even make it in. This is one of the greatest achievements of any player in the history of the NBA. Kobe had to play teams like a 50-win OKC Thunder with three future hall of famers in the FIRST ROUND, yes, the Thunder won 50 freaking games and still were the 8th seed. Here's the craziest thing about that Thunder season, the thunder was the FOURTH team in the Northwest division that year. They won 50 games and still were only the 4th team in their own division. 5. Kobe is the only player besides Jordan to outscore all finals opposition by at least 10PPG in the final's multiple times. 6. Kobe is the only player ever to score 600 points in three consecutive post seasons, the only one. 7. Nine time all defensive first team, while simultaneously being the best scorer of his generation, if not for Jordan this would be unheard of. He is easily top 5, and Imo #3. He had the misfortune of playing in the slowest paced decade in NBA history, otherwise he'd have averaged 40 a night during his peak. For those that say Kobe is inefficient, here are the top scorers of the 2000's Kobe Bryant - 28.2 PPG on 55.9% TS Allen Iverson - 28.1 PPG on 51.8% TS LeBron James - 27.5 PPG on 55.5% TS Tracy McGrady - 24.4 PPG on 52.2 % TS Vince Carter - 23.9 PPG on 53.8% TS Kobe was the most efficient of the highest scorers of his generation, and that's not even getting into how true efficiency on a basketball court should be measured. Whenever someone says Kobe is overrated, they just don't know the truth, he's one of the most disrespected and underrated players ever. When this man dropped 81 points it hadn't been done since 1962!!!!! When he had 9 strait 40-point games it tied Jordans record in 1986!!! This guy was totally breaking the mold and was truly in a class of his own in the league. He was taking conference powerhouses like the Suns to seven games with Kwame, Smush, Luke, and Chris mihm lmao. No player ever had their prime years wasted like Kobe.
Chris Paul should be on this list and Kobe off. I don't see Reggie as overrated either; nobody thinks of him on the same level as Harden, Melo and Russ.
I did not know Kobe missed the most shots in nba history he was a major ball hog and I always knew he was overrated but this just proves it and Shaq got him 3 rings let’s be honest lol
LeBron has actually surpassed Kobe in total misses shots last season & is set to become the official record holder for missed shots & turnovers some time this season.

And anyone who thinks you can't critique someones career just because they have passed is deluded... Rest in peace KB

Bro is high thinking Kobe is overrated he’s not overrated he’s really good at basketball
You know Kobe is dead, right?
He was just a Goodwill Jordan hyped up by the media
LeFlop was carried by DWade, Bosh, KLove and Kyrie too and yet he won just 3 legit rings in 22 years and counting, but yeah keep cherry picking some misleading stats like "average career defensive +/-" 🤣
If you dont see the absurdity of cherry picking stats like that just to try put down a guy who you simply don't like, then I don't know what to tell you...I myself alwasys HATED Kobe with a passion because dude was a KILER and because he played for the Lakers, that dosen't stop me from appreciating his greatness tho

How is Lebron James not on this list 🤔 but Kobe Bryant is ..
Because LeBron isn't overrated??

The rest of player on this list is undebatable.
Accolades and failures are ratings in of themselves. Which Kobe had many of each. The desire to be the best is what drove this man. And what he has done for the game, both domestic and international, surpasses even the great MJ. So rate the player all you want, cuz this dude was solid gold.
MJ took the game globally. Kobe didn't do that.
Kobe did not surpass MJ in anything.
Kobe lovers are DELUSIONAL AF!!!😂 he said Kobe did more for the game than Jordan.😂😂😂😂😂BOY STOP!!!
Surpassed MJ???? Please tell me where you get your drugs I need something to help me escape reality like that
I feel you, but he didn't pass MJ in what he's done for the game.. that's just wishful thinking dude.
James Harden should occupy all Spots on this list tho… :)
I hate the 'kobe won 2 rings with no names' myth. Bynum, Gasol, Odom, Artest and Fisher. That team is in the playoffs without Bryant.
They 100 percent wouldn't I would put my life on the line they wouldn't
@@jerrylykin6628 let's see. The year before, Houston took the champion lakers to 7 games with artest, battie, Scola, Alston and half a series of Ming. Gasol is better then any of them. Bynum was really good that year, better than scola at least. Odom and battie are at the same level. As are fisher and alston. Artest is obviously the same. Mcgrady missed half of the season including the playoffs. 53 wins.

Number 1 should have been LeBron James. Here's the reasons:
1. His high career field goal percentage is misleading, once you look into the details. He shoots a high percentage of dunks and layups during the era of open lanes and cheap whistles. Here's a closer look at his percentages from distance:
3pt field goal percentage: 34.5% (below league average)
16ft - 3pt: 38% (below league average)
10ft - 16ft: 36% (below league average)
3ft - 10ft: 42% (below league average)
0ft - 3ft: 74% (above league average)
Free Throw: 73% (below league average)
To summarize, LeBron James is a below league average shooter from everywhere on the court except dunks and layups. Not just below elite shooters, but below average players.
2. LeBron's subpar clutch stats. Some pundits always deceitfully give him praise for his clutch moments, but let's take a closer look. Here's his stats of clutch shots taken in the last 5 seconds of a game according to Shot Finder:
Field goals attempted: 113
Field goals made: 20
Field goal percentage in the clutch: 17%
Bro.. Lebron is just enough rated. He’s been leading his team at 39 years old. Playing the same quality.
@@Ccm2019 Offensively yes. Defensively he's been a liability for a few years in a row

If you’re gonna put Kobe on the list, then you gotta put Durant, Shaq, Barkley, David Robinson.
Ummm sir if you would be so kind to giving me the last 10:15 of my life back that would be greatly appreciated
Where LeBron? LeBron’s game is filled with flaws and his career consists of so many failures.
Like any other all time great lol
I dont think kobe and miller are overrated
I’d remove Harden from this list entirely. He’s better than everyone besides Kobe. I’m removing Harden and replacing him with T-Max. The guy achieved absolutely nothing🤷🏿♂️
So, how exactly is Kobe _"overrated?"_ 🤔
It's also funny how you mentioned Kobe having most missed shots, but if y'all actually calculated missed FTs in that equation, then ya boy who people love shoving into the GOAT debate took that crown last season.
For those that say Kobe is inefficient, here are the top scorers of the 2000's
Kobe Bryant - 28.2 PPG on 55.9% TS
Allen Iverson - 28.1 PPG on 51.8% TS
LeBron James - 27.5 PPG on 55.5% TS
Tracy McGrady - 24.4 PPG on 52.2 % TS
Vince Carter - 23.9 PPG on 53.8% TS
Kobe was the most efficient of the highest scorers of his generation, and that's not even getting into how true efficiency on a basketball court should be measured.
I wanna see the most underrated nba players
Ginobili is in that list
Tim Hardaway
Anyone saying kobe ISNT overrated in these comments, is adding to his points lmao 😂
EVEN PHIL JACKSON SAID HE WAS OVERRATED TO SOME EXTENT. (It was his defense but that’s gives you an idea)
Chris Paul should be on this list and Kobe off. I don't see Reggie as overrated either; nobody thinks of him on the same level as Harden, Melo and Russ.
The way you pronounce "ethic" is overrated
Westbrook, Reggie and Kobe are definitely not overrated. I would’ve put LeBron, Steve Nash and Stephen Curry on the list
🤣🤡
How do you dare to hate on a dead man you crazy
I did not know Kobe missed the most shots in nba history he was a major ball hog and I always knew he was overrated but this just proves it and Shaq got him 3 rings let’s be honest lol
LeBron has actually surpassed Kobe in total misses shots last season & is set to become the official record holder for missed shots & turnovers some time this season.
