In English for my British & Trinidadian friends - I was lucky & honoured to have been invited to this event as a representative of the 18,000 who were given German citizenship in Bavarian in 2018. My thanks to Bavaria & Germany for giving me 30 years of friendship, safety and a cultural as well as landscape environment to live my life to the full. I hope there are a few more years left in the old bones & I know there are still 1000s of places to explore in this wonderful part of the exciting EU. Not often I want to be 18 again, but this was one of them. Thank you Dr Herrmann - I hope I saved you a bit of pain by not standing in-line to shake your hand personally. You did an amazing job, especially as you had to do the work of two! I think my grandfather, Georg Emil Castulus Mittermaier, born in Dorfen, Bavaria 1890 would have been proud of me and even my Westphalian Gran & Dortmund born Mum.
