Hello David, Happy New Year!!!! I was told about this cup before it came out and jumped on it so I have it. I am a coin guy and love the cup. You are right it is not for the beginner, you need to have some knowledge and practice of some passes and sleights. Love the cup.
@@magicorthodoxy This is just my opinion, but I think we should always say when a gimmick uses magnets or not. It only gives away part of the trick, but it is necessary to be honest with people. So many times we buy things we don't think are magnetic, but then they make noise, or we have to buy additional magnetic props like magnetic coins or something else. If we have other magnetic props, then depending on our setup and packing, we may not be able to put both in our cases or bag at the same time. If something needs magnetic coins and I don't have extra ones, then I would be disappointed in the product because now I can't use it. As one example. There is a reason most reviews, magic descriptions, and authors tell you specifically when something Is Not using magnets. If they tell us when it isn't magnetic, then we should also be told when something IS magnetic. That being said, it's appreciated that you don't give things away, but I think we should make certain exceptions for magnets, thread, and maybe a few other things. For instance, I just bought a trick that I did not think used magnets, but ofc does. Which means it makes a lot of noise, and can only be performed in a nightclub or on social media where you can edit out sound.
My big question is the cup drinkable, simply water is not something that is sticky or creates a smell, just because walking around with a cup to perform with unless at a set seems odd if it is dry inside and you don't use it as a cup. If you can't answer I understand.
@@magicorthodoxyThanks for letting me know, I understand with a gimmick like this you need to keep it in good shape but was wondering what are its recommendations.
Happy new year David. I think your comment about being proficient with coin magic was an important piece of information. A nice prop, as you indicated, but the practice needs to part of the "magic". ED
Happy new year David! Thanks for the review! Just one thought about the strong accent being a negative: Yes, sure, but most magic videos in english don´t come with subtitltes and a LOT of magician/buyers do not speak english. Do you have any idea how Dai Vernon´s moustache sounds like in those old videos for someone who speaks basic english? "Fish nesht fur hour shack, sho mish sash to uneborrowring".. That´s a strong accent right there, my friend. Thank God there are moving images, imagine that with magic books... Oh you want to learn Bobo´s tricks? Ok, go learn english first. It´s funny that anytime I see subtitles in magic videos they are there to ease the life of native english speakers (usually when a foreign magician is already speaking in english but with an accent).
I'm still on the fence about getting the Rubi Cup. The fact that the tutorial isn't downloadable is a big red flag for me. Really not sure I see it as a truly needed accessory or if it's a nice toy for the shelf. Always enjoy your reviews. With this one, I think you saved me $100.00. The Wife will be happy.
Thank you for another great review, I was looking forward to a review of this as I saw videos of Rubi performing it and loved it from then.
Happy New Year 🧨🎇
You have the best magic reviews out there. The details and honesty about each review is so helpful. Much appreciated. 👍🏻

The PSA to not watch Ruby Cup videos made me cackle, David. Great job.

Great revue what are the black marks on the coins as I have had replica coins and they started to rust

it's not recommended to put liquid in it - better to drink out of the inspectable one

🤣
I downloaded the video normally through vimeo 🤷🏻♂️
12:55 True! 😂
I SAID "DONT DO IT!"
Mind sharing what the download software is you're using?
Aimersoft
If they are sold out why do Ellusionist needs to advertise here?
I'm not an advertiser
My guess is the morgans are fakes but considering real morgans are $20 a coin thats pretty nice they supply some
He says they're imitation, no need to guess.
😉👍
😅2 hours 26 minutes tutorial....
what?
Excellent review. Great effect but unfortunately, not for me.
Fair enough!
This will be next order after my big move. Rubi's trailer sold me hard.
Smilesotheylikeyou ha I watched those videos!
thanks
