Great stuff!! I saw this once as a young fella, had it in my head for years and never could remember its name. Its great to trawl through these old films, well worth a watch
I saw this on a double bill with THE PROJECTED MAN in the 60s when I was in 4th grade and had nightmares for days. And LOVED IT! This flick has some genuinely creepy moments and the scene at 1:09:06 was the most brutal and fantastic thing I had ever seen up to that point in my life, even though it only lasts about 3 seconds on screen. (Mind you, I was 10 years old) I talked about it with my friends for DAYS. "When the guy takes the axe and...!" This is a beautiful print of a neglected gem and thank you for posting this!!! Hey, can ya get The Projected Man too? I'm 61 now and can still smell the popcorn from that rainy Saturday afternoon in that theater in Jacksonville Florida.
The Projected Man is a Mystery Science Theatre 3k episode. It’s on RUclips. If you don’t like MST3k, you might want to google search it to see where you can watch it.

I couldn't name my favourite actor as they're all amazing but Edward Judd is so handsome and charismatic mmm...
Warched this on Creature Features with Bob Wilkens as a 5yr old. 1970. Scared the Hell out of me as an only child. Hammer would produce the best horror movies. 50,s and 60,s. So many British movies, entertainment, cars and toys were appreciated in America during that time.
I absolutely love this movie. I hadn't seen it in decades and suddenly it popped up here. It's great to see the bone sucking, noodle soup flowing, and blood spurting again!
Do you remember the scene where they display Ian Bellos' dead body during the First Autopsy performed by Dr. Landers and Constable Harris? It was the scariest part of the entire movie. It has also been edited out of the VHS, DVD and Blu-ray version of this movie! I am not happy about that!!!
@@BingCherry11 EEEK. Icky! Too much ick started pushing its way into scary movies in the early 70s and I can't watch just anything anymore without knowing when it was made. Very little bearable after the original TxCSM. I walked out of the theater with my hubby that night, pregnant with out second, all darkened up and miserable from sitting through it. I still check out all horror movies to this day, hoping for good stuff, able to get through a few great gems, but so grateful for RUclips bringing back the old and forgotten. Even the later Vincent Price movies were a bit sick, he admits to loathing them himself and being shocked when he watched them. Same with Christopher Lee.
Just about any movie with Peter Cushing is a classic! This was one of my favorites. I had it on VHS tape for many years until my elderly VCR ate it. I'm happy to find it here. Thanks!
The old masters were the very best. Bela Lugosi was one of my favorite idols, as was Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre, Vincent Price, & Lon Chaney & Lon Chaney Jr. These were the Masters of Horror. Every Actor who attempts horror needs to bow down to these Greats, first. Thanks for the countless hours of chilling suspense & fright, Gentlemen !
I’ve never seen this- ever-- the creatures are a little unbelievable, however, Peter Cushing always makes these movies believable-- he’s such a great actor!
It has been awhile since I have seen this film and it never gets old. Peter Cushing along with Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre, Christopher Lee and Vincent Price iis a favorite from the horror film genre. He and the others brought class, elegance and a bit of style to even the most low rated film making each that much more intriguing.

Like my Sunday dinner all bone and no meat.i do enjoy watching these old. Movies.. Remember staying up late watching them as a kid. In the 70s and early 80s..
Has to be watched in tandem with 'Night of the Big Heat' from the same director and score composer, and also starring Peter Cushing (and Christopher Lee).
It's a real nostalgea trip watching the actors and actressis of my youthfull times. Also nice to hear good English spoken without all the bad words out of place used today.Peter Cushing lived in whitstable Kent often I pssed by where he lived.Yes he was a Touch of Class from England.
I saw this at the drive in during it's early days, the last film of a four feature night. It was always the only horror/sci fi that kept me up at night! I was in heaven when it finally got shown on tv but disappointed when they cut out the amputation. Apart from Cushing and Judd, it has such a good cast - Niall Macginnis, Sam Lydd, Eddie Byrne, and of course Carole Gray's gorgeous eyes. It's good enough for me to own two blu rays.
The local tv station had a movie series every Friday at midnight called 'Midnight Macabre.' I saw this movie on that when I was about 7 or so. I was terrified for weeks and saw one of those critters behind every rock and shrub.
I have been regularly checking for this movie to come up. :) One my fav from this period. The sheer fear of a slow moving thing that could possibly sneak up on you whilst snoozing sent shivers down my spine as a kid in the 80s. Along with the Triffids. Made me nervous of having snoozes.
Why would the village store have two cases of dynamite.? And when the leading actors get dressed up in condom suites at the laboratory for the radiation gun thing. It cracks me up. I love the weirdness of this classic thriller its so bizarre its enchanting.
Hats off to all those behind this beautiful and marvellous movie. I learn a lesson after seeing this film. When there is well there is a way. We shouldnt creat fear and panic under such circumstances. Know how is very important in such cope with problem
Ok this one of the great monster horror movies that came on CREATURE DOUBLE FEATURE after Saturday cartoons and before BLACK BELT THEATER . Yes the 70s and the 80s were the best for kids growing up, born in "68". This Peter Cushing movie was great. Because as a kid if you had something covering your eyes or hiding behind dad's chair that was a scary movie
Fun little flick. I remember seeing this on TV when I was very young, and then I didn’t see it again for many years and couldn’t even remember the name of it. It may not be quite up there with the best horror or sci-fi flicks of the 60s, but it’s definitely very watchable.
Having all now lived through laboratory experiments moving into the wild and its catastrophic consequences, these once old harmless, deemed fanciful films, take on a new vibrant new meaning. Great stuff, thank you for posting.
I saw this when I was a kid and I couldn't eat campbell's chicken noodle soup for a couple of years...and I wouldn't make a slurping sound with a straw for the longest :D

Thanks for posting this. Tried to get this on a certain online retailer site where I rent films as I always try to pay to watch first, but this was not included, so only reason I watched it here. I have seen many horror films from that era but can't remember seeing this one. Like my other class mates, used to ask to stay up late to watch similar films in 1970's when at primary school. Peter Cushing was in many of these, together with Christopher Lee, Vincent Price etc. Happy memories.
One My most recent cinematic thrills was watching them digitally recreate Peter Cushing in Rogue One. As a child of the sixties and a life long nerd My heroes weren`t in sports but people who acted, wrote and directed films & TV, created comics or made music. I loved everything with he and Christopher Lee.
A good one with Peter Cushing fighting the good fight. Horror tales can help us cope with reality. Nice to have some fictional monster threatening humankind, and we win the battle by the end. Takes the mind off the genuine threats and fears of us all.
@@TheEyez187 I think a good horror tale always has the ambiguous finale. More to fear, never ending monsters. Do we win? Depends on who is witing the tale, who is portraying it, reading it or watching it can expand fear on and on. Our imagination and reality can terrify us beyond any spooky story. How amazing is that?!
Peter ws one of top greatest actors. A film with a bad script, bad props, bad music and a terrible story, like this movie, is brought to life by his presence.
I love Peter Cushing and Christopher Le horror movies though, I have come to greatly appreciate the directors of these fine British horror films. The sets, the score, the costume and the attention to the finest detail of it all. Freddie Francis, Terence Fisher et al. They make the movies as much as the awesome actors. I have loved British horror movies since I was a kid.

I also saw this movie with the projected man in 1967 at the Laural drive-in in pacoima also. You cannot beat a monster double feature.
The Projected Man is a Mystery Science Theatre 3k episode. It’s on RUclips. If you don’t like MST3k, you might want to google search it to see where you can watch it.
@@teresas8173 I love MST3K! Laugh my head off every time I watch The Projected Man episode and wish they could have shown it to me right after I saw it in the theater. I was in 4th grade and to this day it's still one of my all-time favorites 'cause that double feature really scared the pants off me.
now the scariest thing you see is the government
Thank you for sharing your memories with us. You made me crave for popcorn! 🤭
Goodnight from the other side of the world. It's 10:50 p.m. here.
Stay safe, everyone!
Lovely film, I have this on dvd and it's always such a treat to have a pot of tea, biscuits and cheese and tuck up in a cosy blanket.... it's an exciting storyline with exceptional actors and is a film to watch over and over...
One of the greatest sci-fi horror flicks of all time. Ty for this.
Great film. No cgi, woke, or pc. How refreshing
Such lovely colouring in this old film, has such great warmth, kudos to the cinematographer
I absolutely love this movie. I hadn't seen it in decades and suddenly it popped up here. It's great to see the bone sucking, noodle soup flowing, and blood spurting again!
Ideally for taken the "" CHILDREN ""
Top ramen. Looks like shrimp flavor...
@@edoedo8686 🤣
for some reason it looked more scary in black and white but hey i was a kid hahahah
The creakiness of the creatures just makes them all the more freakily disturbing (and with those wonderful added Barry Gray sound effects!)
I remember seeing this movie when I was a kid. I remember my eyes glued to the screen. This is one of my all time favorites!
I remember seeing this at the Odeon when it was released. We was utterly terrified by those creatures . Wonderful days and fabulous memories
A really interesting story line. Peter Cushing, as always, brilliant!
Just about any movie with Peter Cushing is a classic! This was one of my favorites. I had it on VHS tape for many years until my elderly VCR ate it. I'm happy to find it here. Thanks!
Been looking for this film for my collection, Good old horror with a legend acting in it, LOVE IT!
This is one of my all time favorite movies. Thank you for the beautiful copy.💖
I’ve never seen this- ever-- the creatures are a little unbelievable, however, Peter Cushing always makes these movies believable-- he’s such a great actor!
2-18 " new comer, I have been here for 10 years." Islander man, " you still a new comer .Excellent old B-movie.
Watched this movie loads of times, over the years...and it's still a brill film to watch...thanx for upload, made my evening!
Thanks for the gem. Just love Cushing, Lee and Price too much to miss their movies. Now this is one great thriller!
Isn't it wonderful to see so many people with immaculate manners and a great command of the English language
England produced many films with these standards
Sets them aside really
S
I remember watching this movie on TV as a kid. It scared the bejesus out of me. I've not seen it in 50 years. It still scares me.
The "special effects" are so of it's time, as is the film, enjoyed watching it!
Being in quarantine, movies are a great pass time. N I really enjoyed this movie!THANK YOU! Old scary movies are the best!
Thanks for posting this!!! Nothing beats a Hammer, especially those with Peter or Christopher! Top drawer!
More of Peter Cushing and Vincent Price movies. I am obliged.
Prize?
@@lesreed9269 He is, isn't he! Speller Nazi, LOL. Stay on it. We need you.
@@lesreed9269 The heathens must be taught. The natives speak other dialects apparently.
I guess a horror doesn't need any special english skills.
So he made a spelling mistake. So what?!!!
Aka: Island of the Burning Doom
@@chadcastagana9181 Island of the burning DAMNED I think you mean..
Also on FlickVault...
Opera Dave rill Ian Thorpe brilliant film!👍
Absolutely, yes! I love both films!!!
It's a real nostalgea trip watching the actors and actressis of my youthfull times. Also nice to hear good English spoken without all the bad words out of place used today.Peter Cushing lived in whitstable Kent often I pssed by where he lived.Yes he was a Touch of Class from England.
One of the better B flicks of the '60s, really made so much better by the presence of St. Peter.
Thank you for uploading this movie, it's one of my favorites!
PETER. CUSHING Is A GREAT ACTOR HE MAKES The MOVIE
I do enjoy these classic British movies.
Carole Grey was born in 1938 and
as far as I know she is still with us
at the age of 86...?
She married the heir to a Diamond
Mining Corporation...😢😢😢
Sam Kydd brilliant character actor can pull off being a constable in his late 50s. Actually he was 51 here. Goes to show what smoking did to them.
The local tv station had a movie series every Friday at midnight called 'Midnight Macabre.' I saw this movie on that when I was about 7 or so. I was terrified for weeks and saw one of those critters behind every rock and shrub.
Me too, Sinister Cinema, Port, Ore. SCARY FLICK
I was about the same age when I first saw this. Had me looking up at trees before walking under them for a week or two!
Rembrandt, don't forget to check under your bed tonight 🛏️😜😁
@@aivarasz No way. Do you know how many people die each year while looking under their bed?
I saw this at the Drive In with my brothers Thanksgiving 1970 or 71.. I was 10 or 11.. scared the wool out of me
I have been regularly checking for this movie to come up.
Can't thank you enough for this, I love Peter Cushing!
One of my favorites; glad to find this channel and hope you can add more British horror and science fiction films in the future.
Old England was so cool. And it’s people too.
Fun little flick. I remember seeing this on TV when I was very young, and then I didn’t see it again for many years and couldn’t even remember the name of it. It may not be quite up there with the best horror or sci-fi flicks of the 60s, but it’s definitely very watchable.
The first time I saw this film, on '70's TV, it'd been cropped to suit. The opening titles read, "Land of Error."
Having all now lived through laboratory experiments moving into the wild and its catastrophic consequences, these once old harmless, deemed fanciful films, take on a new vibrant new meaning. Great stuff, thank you for posting.
No bones about it pretty good movie!
haaaaaahahahaha!
Peter Cushing was a favourite actor for my dad, he so loved the man's acting ability, and now i can see why having watched this film
Awesome, terrifying movie that really needs a 2-disc blu-ray version.
Peter chushing,Basil Rathbone and Jeremy Brett are Legends 😊
I saw this when I was a kid and I couldn't eat campbell's chicken noodle soup for a couple of years...and I wouldn't make a slurping sound with a straw for the longest :D
I just love these HD Flick Vault movies. I'm glad that I got aware of them.
I loved this movie! Thank you!
Oh my goodness, how has this film escaped my notice for so many years? ??? I feel the strange need for wine, to go with all of that CHEESE!!!!! Fabulous old "horror" flick!!! Definitely an underrated movie!!! Thanks so much for uploading it!!! Definitely going into my rotation!!!!
This print is very exceptional...great fun to watch again.
Bloody hell, I remember seeing this film as a kid, just found this channel and bang, this movie popped up, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Mr Cushing was a legend👍🏻❤️
What a great cast. Excellent film.
Hi. I Love These Old Movies, They are The Best. Especially If Peter Cushing is in it. Thank you so much for the Upload Really Enjoyed It. A Real Classic. 🤗⚘🤗⚘🤗⚘🤗⚘
Never seen Cushing so racy..."Can three play?"🤣🤣
Thx, love Brit flicks and even the 'low-end' ones usually have decent enough actors, story line and production values, that they're always worth watching!
Superb! I loved this movie!!
Thank you for this Flick Vault. Very good picture quality.
"Good evening David; I hope we're interrupting something . . " 😁 Such tongue and cheek 😂😂😂
Like the twist at the end, when he said lucky this didn’t happen anywhere else, and we are see another country that’s relevant to today’s Covid 19 outbreak.
You could be the worst thug in the world but if Peter Cushing walked upto you; you'd show respect.
THANK YOU! One of my favourite movies that is not available in the proper region for me. Made my night. Thanks.
A good one with Peter Cushing fighting the good fight. Horror tales can help us cope with reality. Nice to have some fictional monster threatening humankind, and we win the battle by the end. Takes the mind off the genuine threats and fears of us all.
Do we win by the end? Three more labs, not on islands, were about to conduct the same tests!?
@@TheEyez187 I think a good horror tale always has the ambiguous finale. More to fear, never ending monsters. Do we win? Depends on who is witing the tale, who is portraying it, reading it or watching it can expand fear on and on. Our imagination and reality can terrify us beyond any spooky story. How amazing is that?!
@@dorianchriste8645 Very true, good points!
Only for us to realize that WE are the monsters in every regard.
Peter ws one of top greatest actors. A film with a bad script, bad props, bad music and a terrible story, like this movie, is brought to life by his presence.
I love this movie. Some of the British movies are great sci fi. The only lame part is how the hell did the creature climb a freakin tree??
Excellent flick enjoy what they did with next to a zero budget for FX thumbs up
I love Peter Cushing and Christopher Le horror movies though, I have come to greatly appreciate the directors of these fine British horror films. The sets, the score, the costume and the attention to the finest detail of it all. Freddie Francis, Terence Fisher et al. They make the movies as much as the awesome actors. I have loved British horror movies since I was a kid.
Fantastic upload 😃 Odeon Entertainment Group released this classic on blu-ray in 2014 with a reversible cover & a 16 page booklet. It has pride of place beside all my Hammer, Amicus, Universal & AIP's... Team Peter!
