I am agreeing with a lot of people here...Bad company "Shooting Star" one of their best songs without a doubt! I also like their song "Bad Company". Another one on my list of bands that I've seen in Concert (got in trouble for this one because my buddy "borrowed" his dad's car and we drove over 500 miles just to go to the concert).

Great Band. Paul Rodgers is the most under-rated singer in history. Should have been in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a long time ago. This is their best song in my opinion.
Paul Rodgers is definitely not underrated. He's considered to have one of the finest, blusiest voices in Rock and Roll history. You don't ask to join Queen or to join bands with Jimmy Page if you're underrated.

Freddy could sing anything that Paul Rodgers did but Paul Rodgers could not sing everything Freddie did. I don't know, I saw the firm back in the '80s with Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers and I definitely didn't compare him to Robert Plant. As a matter of fact it never entered my mind. I don't think Robert Plant was necessarily "better, " they are just different.

The space sound was syndrums. Electronic drum pads that were new in the late 70s. Anita Wards " ring my bell" and Shalamar " 2nd time around", use syndrums as a major part of the melody of the song

Just to Note.. At one point in Rock History..lead singer Paul Rodgers of earlier Band... Free..and then Bad Company was voted The best Rock and Roll voice...and held it for longest time. Still is to me hand down..
In the mid 2000s, Bad Company was on one of my flights returning from Guam. They sat in coach and had a great time with the other passengers. Someone asked if they were a heavy metal band. They responded by saying that they were more of a rusty metal band!
I went to a concert where Bad Company made their premiere performance, opening for.two blockbuster bands; Edgar Winter’s White Trash and Foghat. Bad Company blew them off the stage; they couldn’t get them off the stage to bring on the “headliners” they were that good ; we all loved them. The next day I heard that Bad Company was dropped from the tour; and that was when they went from opening to their own tour.
