May I ask, after listening to the song and reading the lyrics. What would you assume their feelings to be? I actually feel like there isn’t much in the song that expresses how they feel about the crime. Please correct me if I’m wrong. This is a song I listened to a lot when I was younger. I really loved and it but didn’t understand the meaning. After revisiting it and doing research I do feel kind of iffy. I still like the song. And i think, the meaning of the video is that everyone who is "bad", is bad because something terrible had happened to them before, and that "twisted" their soul. It is rude, well it’s not rude, it’s graphic and it’s violent. It’s based on a book by Hubert Selby Jr [Last Exit to Brooklyn]. Each chapter is about a different character and they all intertwine throughout the book. May I ask, after listening to the song and reading the lyrics. What would you assume their feelings to be? I actually feel like there isn’t much in the song that expresses how they feel about the crime. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
This is a song I listened to a lot when I was younger. I really loved and it but didn’t understand the meaning. After revisiting it and doing research I do feel kind of iffy. I still like the song. I just worry that not enough of their personal opinion is put into the piece. A lot of people in the comments of this video and others dont even the meaning of the song still. They don’t speak about it much in interviews. There’s one interview where they’re asked about it and they just say to read the last chapter of the book. I believe there’s even a video on RUclips of a group of high school or college boys singing the song in a gym in front of the school.
Also comparing this to their song Taro. I believe there is much more care put into that song and handling that story. Their stance is very clear and they go as far as to reunite him with his love at then end I believe.
None of this is to argue or critique them or you lol. Just some thoughts.

I think this video is about being hurt. All these people in the video look like "bad people", and they also have some abnormal bodyparts, like twisted legs, for example. And i think, the meaning of the video is that everyone who is "bad", is bad because something terrible had happened to them before, and that "twisted" their soul. Those twisted bodyparts symbolise that. Your life is determined by the things that happen to you.

well, actually, i think when we're talking about art, it's not only the true meaning of the work (in this case, the song and the video) is important, but what it makes you think and feel, regardless of what its real message is. i mean, yeah, no one can ignore the true meaning of this song, but it can also make you realise other things, that you might have not thought about before, and that's just why i love art. i understand that this video is about gang rape, but it also made me think about what i wrote down up there, and that's the whole point of art - generating thoughts, besides thinking about what the work itself truly means. so yeah haha
